  • I remember staying up all night just to catch this video on BET. Klymaxx ruled. It's a pitty the girls couldn't get along long enough to have a big comeback.

    Bernadette ruled!

  • Beyonce was not the first to create an all girl band and this is the evidence! Klymaxx was awesome the awesome originaters!!

  • slap n tap lorena's, fenderella's, n bernedette's fat asses mmmm

  • Bernadette, THE baddest bitch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I never realized how much Joyce Irby sounds like Michael Jackson until they mentioned it on UnSung. :)

  • lorena is a sexy bitch

  • i believe cheryl should have talked to bernadette before she decided to do what she did. bernadette is the one who formed the group and hired cheryl and the rest of the group. both women still look great after so many years. cheryl is a great musician and bernadette is multi talented.

  • what kind of drums are bernadette using?

  • I use to love them in the 80,s. I wanted to be just like them because they were a sexy and cool girl group. That's the way I acted. Cool with a little sexy twist.

  • I feel that song People! I promise the men all pause when I enter the club!!

  • I just look too good for these people! I LOVE IT!!!!

  • SKATE MUSIC!

  • Sure is skate music.

  • Joyce does sound like MJ!!

  • My Klymaxxx memory was seeing them, Skyy and Kool & the Gang at Radio city, in NY back in tha day...6 fine ladies rippin the stage..to never be duplicated.

  • I'll bet that was an excellent concert.

  • watching unsung right now... dang klymaxx.. can any girl group stay together... loed!!!!

  • I'm only 30 yrs old but remember these ladies like it was yesterday and I still LOVE them, especially Bernadette. I wish people still made fun music like this.

  • bernadette cooper still look good

  • i thought i was getting rick rolled lol

  • I wasn't even born when this came out and i still know it's THE SHIT! I have this type of music in my ipod, well not this song because i think it's too old the internet to have.

  • My sister sings this song as "the menopause" :p

  • i agree with you helenacious it brings me back to school when a few of my freinds lip sing this in the talent show

  • Remember the ''Speakeasy''?

  • I love Bernadette! "Somebody slap me! I know I look too good for these people" *lol*

  • Now these are Divas! Love the attitude!

  • when i was a little girl i use to try to be them in the mirror. i loved to pick which one and mood i was gonna pretend to be, lol

  • they still have not been out done by any other female band and singing group till this day. they are the only female band to have it all. singing and could play their own music..they still are all queens in my eyes

  • watched it on tv one too. Not all of them aged gracefully huh?? Bernadette is the only one who still looked the same

  • I'm now watching them on TV One; man I wish they could have kept their egos in check; Bernadette Cooper was my girl!!!

  • Oh my god me too..lol and I agree...

  • This brings me back to my freshman year in high school. I used to LOVE this song!!! They were doing the damned thing and there has never been an AFB (Black) since them. If I'm wrong, I stand corrected.

  • oh my god

the beginning sounds like beyonces "sweet dreams"

    LOL

  • caralina west here in los angeles ... back and the day

  • No you didn't say the Carolina West. You would have to pick up the phone to get your mack on. That place was the bomb on Saturday nights.

  • yep i did ay the carolina west back in the day here in los angeles .. and dont forget a lil time earlier the eve after dark on avalon bld ...so many memories

  • Oh yeah i remember Eve After Dark. Don't forget ''The Bitten Apple'' and 'TheTotal Experience'' in Leimert Park and The Hobart Club. Klymaxx was the bomb in L.A.. So many good memories back then.

  • Paradise, Total Experience, Maverick Flats,. Bitten Apple, Eve After Dark, Carolina West, Hobart Club..... If ya'll wasn't in L.A back in the day....Man, y'all missed out!

  • Comment removed

  • Okaaay....don't forget '' Victoria's Station'', ''Tiberios'', ''Pizzazz'', and ''The Name of The Game'' and again...''The Carolina West'' and ''The Speakeasy''. Those were the good 'ol days when you can have fun partying without all of the drama, guns etc as they have today. I am so glad i was partying at that time and im sure are too.

  • The men all pause as I walk into the room

  • I used to LOVE this song when I was little... totally the JAM!

  • The menopause when she walk into the room! The men-o-pause! LOL So wrong, so wrong. She needs to deal with that. LOL Great song.

  • I was just 3 when this came out but this is still one of my favorites songs. Unfortunately I always thought it was called "The Men Are Boys" lol and could never find it.

  • Yes, I remember this song in the 80's. I was on the dance floor and all the baby doll's were too. It was all good because, I'll was pulling some of them babes.

  • they was all fine back then

  • We need a Klymaxx for today- real musicans, too. I also always thought the bass player singer sounded like Ralph Tresvant of New Edition.

  • GREAT FUKING SONG!!!

  • Yes they all played their own instruments. It's funny how real musicians disappeared and all we have now is lip synchers, and samplers.

  • She was plugging her dad's Limo Service when she said she was in a "Cooper's Limosine."

  • did these girls actually play the instruments?

  • Gotta LOVE Bernadette's Swag!!!!

  • for all you women out there!

  • Klymaxx was the shit back in the day.

  • Love! Love! Love! Klymaxx....but what the hell is a "Cooper's limousine???"

  • this was some premium 80s prince-inspired synth-funk

  • Not only is ol girl a serious talker but she is also a serious walker. This chick is dance walking, it is a serious matter.

  • Mmmmm -FAT BURGER !!!

  • the 80s ftw!

  • rippin it~

  • This group was so kickin' back in the 80's. One of my favorites!

  • Hell ya!

  • "cause i know im looking good im giving attitude all over the room people are starring at me i just look to gooooooood for these people!!!' damn you gotta love her cocky ass!!

  • i wanna fuck her sexy cocky ass lol

  • They are the female version of Morris Day and the time

  • men all pause, meeting in the ladies room, i miss you....klymaxx was cranking out the hits!! an all girl group that REALLY sang and played all their instruments....these chicks were BAD!!!!!

  • The Men All Had Menopause! HAHAHA! That's great!

This song was the shit back in the day tho!

  • I have been trying to remember what this song was called for about 10 years or so. Glad I finally found it. It's got suuuch attitude.

  • True Dat !! These ladies still ROCK!

    Peace :-)

  • this was my group in the 80's!

  • dem baybiees make me wanna bust a nutt!!

  • This group needs to get their props!

  • that is the true Diva song...love it

  • menopause

  • saw them at the greek theater along with other old school artists perform this past weekend... they were off the chain!!!! they looked great and played an outstanding show!!!! They still got it!!!

  • Dammmmmm! Can't sit still in my seat to this track. This group was overlooked as well. Klymaxx is pioneers to all female artists.

  • pimp talkin

  • yo dis is da hit right here !! back to school joints !! i love old school joints .. and im ONLY 13!!

  • That just means you have an ear for good music youngsta.........keep on living it get's even better

  • One of the baddest female groups to ever hit the scene!!

  • all the ladies who walk in and make "the men all pause" give a thumbs up to this!

  • the drummer reminds me of a female morris day...she has the same swagger that he did...

  • Wow, thanks for the flashback!

  • Haha, my Aunt was one of the Original members of this band. She's on keyboards, Lynn! :)

I'm gonna be working with her in the studio!

  • This song has a Michael Jackson/ Prince feel. This mug was the joint back in the day.

  • Halle Berry was in a sketch on Saturday Night Live that made fun of this song and Klymaxx.

  • its funny you guys thought they said menopause and my mom used to say "The Men Are Whores" lol.

  • Wasn't Adina Howard in this group?

  • Love it! It's a flashback to my youth, the fashions, etc. Still love the song, the video, the humor of it.

  • I thought to myself that they are a bit to young to be singing about menopause, it would have been appropriate if they were older! Now THAT would be funny to see!

  • I swore back in the day they were saying "menopause!" LOL!

  • omg me too hahahaha

  • The freak's all pause WENT I WALK IN THE ROOM

  • What I also admired, was the fact that these ladies were classy, and jazzy in their own way, and still gained notice (per the music video ) without meeting a "scantily clad", dress code requirement, as currently mandated by many video producers nowadays, in an effort to promote sex, via modern day "video vixens".

  • I loved Klymaxx as a kid, as they were one of the the most popular (female) groups back then! At one point, my friends and I adopted this song title as our theme song when we used to hit the clubs!

  • this song was a nice song to party to in the basements those were the days

  • This was way before spinderella's time. One of their members nickname was fenderella. She was the bassist , I think her name was Joyce Irby. Great music

  • Wasn't Spinderella a member of this group?

    Does anyone remember?

  • No she was the member of Salt NPepa

  • @DonsVideoWorld

Not "Spinderella," Joyce "Fenderella" Irby is a member of this group.

  • Ooh whoah...ooh whoah...ooh whoah...

I remember the lyrics. That song was popular when I worked for Nordstrom.

  • wonder what happened 2 them? i really liked them. they didn't have a problem expressing their sexality!!

  • I thought the was a song about "The Change" women go through when their girlie bits stop working ...

  • lol, that thought never crossed my mind untill you metioned it!!! now i cant hear it without thinking that... lol... you ruined it!!! lol funny....

  • hot hot hot...wow..im luvin da one wit da fierce haircut....yeah..

  • Klymaxx was the bomb! ...my nails were done and my hair was fierce!

  • They was the shit!!!!!!!!!!!!whoa whoa whoa

  • They were tuff! I loved they way the put it down for the women and let the men know who was really in charge!

  • I liked KLYMAXX because their music was fierce! Makin other women haters. But I enjoyed them. what made them special was that they were an All WOMEN BAND. I used to get a kick out of Men all pause. They should tour 1 more time.

  • What makes them still very special is that to this day, they were (are) the first all female band who played all of their own instruments in the R&B/pop genre. Other genres had had all female bands playing all instruments, but never the R&B genre. Not sure, but they may still hold that distinction of being the only R&B all female group who played their own instruments. Maybe someone can check on that..lol I'm going to bed! :-p

  • I hate to become a BW. A basic woman! My favorite lyrics from the song "Meeting In The Ladies Room." lol

  • Bernadette Cooper was the lady verison of Morris Day cool, rough and funky

  • I Love seeing Women Who Are Beautiful and strong I love How Beyonce Has A All Women Band Its Beautiful seeing Women who can Play instruments Real

  • Wow..funny watching this now. My friends did this song in the talent show in 1985! LOL..OMG! Also, I never noticed it until now,but the chick with the asymetrical cut seem so lesbo butch to me now..

  • Bigup to the Woman bands!

  • I remember when this came out. We were just gettin' our groove on at the clubs. Slap me. Somebody slap me.. You know i'm looking good... Radar... Radar....I love you all but i got to go. (LOL)

  • Just exactly how many people were in this group?

  • The original member count is 6. On this video there were 6 members.

  • This was my fiancee's father's jam when he was in high school. He had a serious crush on Bernadette Cooper. He had the first two albums.

  • Yeah, I got my KENNETH COLE heels on, im im just too good for these people! LOVE IT!

  • THE MENOPAUSE! This my mama shit! i still love it.

  • LOL! Hell yeah..do the 'hot flash' @3:37

  • i just look too good for these people! LOL! love it!!

  • STILL love this song!! Used to get ready to go out to it...yeah, I'm old ;)

  • We ain't old, they're just young!

  • She had on a Gianni Versace Blue leather coat! Watch out now!

  • The VH1 Klymaxx reality special was really good. Hope they're all still doing well.

  • Does anyone know which member of the group Klymaxx is the mother of the singer Lloyd?

  • Joyce Irby used to manage Lloyd and his younger brother when they were boys, but she's not their mother.

By the way, she's the one that sings the verse at 1:39. And she leads another popular Klymaxx song: I Miss You.

  • I love Klymaxx!! This is still one of my favorite songs of all time. Bernadette is so talented and confident. You can't tell her nothing!! You gotta love it!!

  • These are my moms girls, and i love them too. The drummer has swag out this world. "Slap me, no somebody slap me, cause i know i'm lookin good" lol

  • check 2:11, the classic "walk" move that you see in all the 80"s videos

  • What was a Cooper's Limousine though? Was it a brand of limo, or a limo company of the era? Anyone happen to know?

  • If I'm remembering correctly...Coopers Limousine was her family's limousine company. The lead singers last name is Cooper (Bernadette Cooper). I could be wrong, but I believe that's what it was.

  • That makes the most sense, my guess was a Coopers limo would have been one of those limo's modded to look like it was from the '30s that seemed to be popular back then.

  • she is saying coupless limosine... that was a specific limo model in da late 70's early 80's

  • Ladies! Pick up an instrument now! They are bad!

  • and yall thought biggie and pac were the first to rock versace. rip to those dudes but these chicks were doing a 10 or so before.

  • she said had my gianni versace leather blue suit on,,, i was looking fierce... thats some fly shit...

  • Damn, so many years later if I am with my homies I might just bust out a "Kitty girl..." HAH! Steven Shockley rocked so many tunes at SOLAR...this one was a killah.

  • bak in the day I always sang the menopause ... like a dumbazz,

and the song was still fierce

I still say slap me when I look good LOL whoooroo lol

  • LOL...you're not alone - I sang 'menopause,' too. :)

  • im making this my theme song!!!! LOL

  • Klymaxx were FIERCE! And nobody could talk smack like La Cooper! Nobody!

  • What ever happened to those 80's synthesized drum kits? They were the best
