Great footage. I was wondering if it was cable or underground electrical pick-up.I'll have to head up to Frisco to see what Market Street looks like today. (Street View!)

We also had cable cars in San Diego for a few years.

It's Market Street in San Francisco. This footage was taken around 1900-1905. There was a great fire in 1906 (caused by an earthquake) which destroyed many of the buildings seen here.

@BeareTube I just saw an article about this footage, and it turns out it was taken just a few days before the quake in April 1906. The article detailed a lot of the techniques and clues that led them to date the film.
