i tired to cover a ball with fondant how did you get it smooth on the bottom mine really had a hard time getting smooth on the bottom

Rylan...you are the BEST designer EVER!!! OMG, what a beautiful cake! You really are going to go far in this field. The only thing is in my opinion, it is a little mature for a 12 year old. But MAN any woman would appreciate this cake!!! I will be waiting for the tutorial on brush embroidery. Please don't feel down (I understand the feeling as well) You are awesome! How can you not be happy with it? It is simple, elegant, beautiful, femenine,... I love the combination of those two colours and the embroidery makes it look so delicate.

You seem to have a very good sense of decoration in general. You know how to mix colours and designs. That is a great gift!!!

Rylan! It's just a beautiful cake! I agree with Mayen & Laura - it can pass for a lovely wedding cake! They are also right in that we dont see the so called flaws that you see - really! You should be excited about creating such a wonderful piece of work - especially with all the brush embroidery details!!!!! We can really see the effort you put in cause it shows sweetie! Thanks Laura. I just didn't like it because I wasn't going for that look. I also didn't want to put the wavy ribbons in there but I have to because I couldn't get the seams perfectly clean. I feel so sad about this now.

I can understand how you feel Rylan. My honest opinion of this cake is that it is BEAUTIFUL! REGARDLESS of the fact that it's not what you originally planned. This happens to cake decorators ALOT! But we learn from our mistakes and improve each time buddy! :) Like Mayen said, we don't notice the things you notice. Noone does. All we see we is a GORGEOUS cake! I am very happy that you are dissatisfied because this dissatisfaction is what will help you improve & make you a better cake designer! :)

I know which purple you're talking about. That one is called 'Violet' and it's from KopyKake Kroma Colors. I know how it feels having to make cakes with colors you don't like. It's kind of an icky feeling isn't it? Just know that we KNOW exactly how you feel buddy! LOL! If you were here I'd give you a big ol' hug then a big ol' slap on the back and tell you to get over it! :) LOL! Ask Mayen! I've told her to get over it too! :) Love ya buddy! :)

That is the reason why I need an airbrush machine. With gel colors, it's hard to achieve darker shades without changing the consistency.

Don't be sad about it Rylan ...it's a learning piece for you - since you said you did not design it like that originally-- YET it is still exceptional nonetheless. You know all the little problems, yet we cant really tell. And though you feel it is not as perfect as it could be, we can all see that it is much better than what you feel it is..... :)

i just wanted to add- i saw this guy on a tv cake show who thinks the world of himself - and says the cake is excellent when it's not even half as good as what you can make ... i wish you could see the beauty of what you make in our eyes!
