  • I really like onlive, but its bandwidth usage is a huge-ass problem. I also like the frame rate, although another problem is controller reaction time.

  • So this means I can play Battlefield play4free on my Asus Eee PC 1005HA with no problem, I mean I have a 1.60GHz cpu, 1GB of ram, 500GB hard drive and game booster.

  • oh god i didnt look at the time of this vid until i got halfway through it lol

  • sorry, didnt watch the rest before posting

  • what kind of 150$ netbook has 4gb of ram with a 3ghz processor!?!

  • @khainguyen98 none?

  • I feel the input lag from watching this 20 fps crap

  • an other cheap solution is apu netbooks, they already play drx11 games and the incoming trinity based ones will be great portable pc gaming solutions

  • the only problem with onlive is any games which are not being played but you play may get taken off and will never be streamed again. So lets say ut3 gets no more activity and there is only a handful of servers. They will just remove it and move on to a different game. Which I feel is not worth buying a game to not be able to use it after. But A subscription would have made more sense.

  • @BunchyMountain You're right about availability issues. We've even seen games pulled from Steam recently in their little tiff with EA. OnLive actually does offer a subscription service as well, it just does not included the newest releases.

  • @right2byte EA's petty rivalry for their mediocre client is nothing new. They always need to make a competition of everything.

Since their subscription does not cover newer titles I would not find it worth it since they already have most new releases on for full price and not for rent.

  • @right2byte Those EA games that got removed from Steam? Yeah, I can redownload all of them if I've purchased them before. I can still download my copy of Crysis 2.

  • some1 please help i wanna buy onlive to play on my tv but i herd it doesnt support wifi but i also heard now they do support wifi any answers

  • yep cant fight her

  • the wife is always right!

  • Xbox live+OnLive=greatest online multiplayer ever!

  • Comment removed

  • i playing dirt3 on smartphone :D

  • does multiplayer work?

  • @rakib567 Yes, but matches are frequently restricted to users of the OnLive service.

  • @right2byte that sucks reallyy :(

  • fuck star wars man Star Trek all the way >=D

  • Dude - Love it. Your video is what the YouTube community is missing, a real, down to earth, review. Not ruined by movie makeup (editing everything out ect), and your very honest. Love how there isn't an advertisement either. Please keep up the good work!!

  • lol

  • ASUS for the win!!!

  • could you possibly play split screen with another controller on onlive by any chance?

  • @LINKINFORLIFE If it is supported in the PC of the games, yes.

  • nice moustache

  • ok then, would having a good pc make it run smoother in conjunction with the machine streaming it? or just your internet?

  • I LOVE ONLIVE for all that it offers and its potential for the future god dammit when will britain get fibre optic broadband -.-!!

  • Your wife lol ? so controlling !!!!!

  • lol

    asus eee 900

    900mhz

    intel gma 900

    its over 900!!!!!

  • DO I NEED A CREDIT CARD TO BUY GAMES? My parents wont let me use thier credit card....

  • @SALSPReviews Yes, you need a credit card. You could ask your parents for something like a Visa gift card. It works the same way.

  • Split Second have stuttering... In Onlive is unplayable... ;-)

  • I'm using 2GB ram with bad graphics card, but i have a really good internet so ONLIVE plays good

  • Why does ur wife need a laptop when she is in the kitchen...

  • onlive will be a lot better when there is somewhat of a player base. multiplayer is crap right now. it will never be what PSN or Live are but if it gets a little better i might recommend it more.

  • Great video and it nailed the BEST thing about ONLIVE. It works with damn near ANYTHING. :D

  • I have an eeepc 900 like that. It's a piece of crap.

  • Wait so it doesn't matter what graphics card i have? All that matters is how good my connection is and the better the connection the better the graphics and smoothness of the game? It sounds to good to be real or am i missing something?

  • @recentdan123 You got it. OnLive's servers are the machines that actually run the game. All you're seeing is a video stream of that sent to you.

  • @right2byte Awesome i can see this being used by everyone in about 5 years when they get the latest games , you can talk to people in your game and invite people to party's and when broadband gets faster. Can't wait it could even happen even earlier. Genius Idea!

  • @right2byte it doesnt work for my note book lol

  • @right2byte yup thats totaly true im using a laptop and playing dirt 3 like if it was a portable xbox 360 :)

  • @recentdan123 Yeah i played yesterday Metro 2033, Dirt 3 and Homefront on a 5yrs old laptop :D Onlive is just amazing if you have fast internet connection

  • @recentdan123

Onlive in concept is very unique and the idea that all you need is an internet connection to play will be appealing. However even with a good internet connection there is about a 1/4 second lag on your controls, which completely changes the experience. Their game library is pretty small also. Plus your paying a good amount of money also, thirty bucks a game and a hundred bucks for the console.

  • @GorakTheBig not mention you can rent games in a flash

  • @GorakTheBig 1/4th of a second is 250ms latency. I do not experience anything near this about 90% of the time. My latency is usually under 50ms, around the 30s. That's unde 1/30th of a second, very hard to detect. The controller is rated one of the lowest latency wireless controllers among the big name consoles; further trying to compensate for the inevitable lag. However, your 250ms latency is most likely due to your ISP and not the Onlive service.

  • @recentdan123 your gpu has to support pixel shader 2.0

  • @recentdan123 It works by the company having servers that run the game and stream you the video and sound, and you send simple inputs.

  • as of right now Cloud gaming is pretty limited and not that much better than playing on a console, performance and graphics wise, but maybe it will improve over time. I also don't like the fact I don't actually on the game, as in a digital copy.

  • @AiurProtoss this is the mistake most people are making. if you own an up to date console or a pc gaming rig, ONLIVE IS NOT FOR YOU. its targeted to those that cannot afford those and is an alternative. Because onlive is a streamer service meaning youre playing on their computer through internet, youre going to come across general complications like delays in movements(in fps especially) and sometimes onlive cant even run the games correctly(their computer sucks) etc etc.

  • @gamerjinho

I Know that, the guy I was debating with resorted to calling me a racial slur when I clearly made my point to him. The next day his account was deactivated. LOL.

  • How do I play OnLive with my PS3 Controller??

  • @SeanChiruchi motionjoy on windows

  • @AnimaTheSavager I been found out, but thanks.

  • So basicaly you can play this thing on any device that support lan connection and video playng ? XD

  • man, that was awesome, this is what Onlive is about. This makes the impossible possible!

  • It runs flawlessly on my Eee 901, though I usually play it on my Macbook. Neither laptop runs games very well natively. Great demo of what OnLive really is.

  • geat video i lmao at it. i love onlive but hate that you need great internet to play it without lag

  • Thanks for the kind words. I was a little worried about keeping the intro, but the whole thing ran long anyway so I figured 'What the hey!'

  • Rofl love the first two minutes of the video. You're awesome.

  • 0:40-1:40 LOL (Gonna like the video just for that part). Nice Review of Onlive, I myself enjoy the service. =)
