  • when you said you only touched the floor 1 time was that in the very beginning.

  • Grandpaaa':X:X

  • Damn bro, Don't let anyone tell you otherwise you ripped this contest. Clean and controlled. Nicely done homie! I miss those days of AFA. Its not the same now and the new jacks riding nowadays have it easy with bikes that dont break, even bikes from walmart now are better than the Gt's I rode in the 80's. Keep posting the vids!

  • @dynamixx1 Yes I was really pleased with this because I only put my foot down once.

  • whats up with the music! Sock hop music in a little room with a bmx'r doing tricks!

  • @evildead818 I wanted to be different. Thats what freestyle is (was) all about, doing your own thing!

  • Come on crew jones!

  • WOW how things have changed lol!

  • really good man,i like these tricks from the past,so i do in 1984 with a GT Performer with Skyway Tuffs and a Haro Freestyler....really Oldschool man...!!! Yeah!!!!

  • ///AFA4EVR.

  • I used to ride bmx back then. in fact I never stopped riding. took up mountain bikes in 1989, now I ride downhill, and i just bought a xc29er that was more than my truck :-)

  • @JubeProductions worth every penny!

  • bmx has hella changed...

  • los 80s sssssss

  • first i thought i should not clicked on this but then i changed my mind

  • may i ask you how old were you back then?

  • Me and my buds were heavy into BMX tricks in the 80's......but I could never master the rock walk so I got frustrated and just rode

  • That area was too small for him. he is a good rider.

  • @aaa567ify It was a little too slippery too. But it was below zero outside lol!

  • @aaa567ify good?! You say he is good rider?! Wrong.. He is awesome! ;)

  • To this day that would be a great run! Great balance from beginning to end. To me the beginning took a lot of balance as much as the rest and I noticed the spectators were a bit chill until the front wheel pogos, and spinning.

  • @aaa567ify Well the balance tricks were a little boring, but I had to throw them in there because the tight space limited my other tricks. I like this run too because I only touched once. But if you look close when I come out of the cherrypicker it was real shaky, I almost didnt make it out.

  • indonesia call his trick is scorpion

  • wow dude that was legit

  • those haros in the back corner are nice

  • @jrca96 Yep they should be they are brand new in this video!

  • I had a 87 haro master, wasnt near as good as you, but did a little, dam i miss those days :)

  • Howcome theyre seats are so high?

  • We have a Pioneer of BMX Freestyle here in Apple Valley Ca named William "Crazy Lacy" Furmage. He was an Original vans member. People call him and his 2 sons Chris 23 and Corey 20, The First Family Of Freestyle, because they are the oldest father and sons around doing shows and events. I know they would love this video because i did. Props. Keep it up!

  • Man that was f upt

  • HE need Helmet for This? hahahhha

  • @BLbudzak2 They made us wear helmets back then in competitions, so I didnt really have a choice

  • is that u

  • I love this guy. He is so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • omg did you wind the clock back to when i was a kid and all that mattered was freestyle .......

  • that was awesome

  • cool video.. are you still riding?

  • LMFAO That was mad funny at first i thought he didnt know what he was doin xD

  • How do you balance??

  • I used to ride back i the 80s and 90s. I still have my Haro Sport Freestyler.

  • AMAZING do you still have that nike

  • haha he has vans on sick

  • what kind of Haro is that? Master? Sport? which is better (rarer?)

  • @spencerleeb Its a Master. Not sure which is rarer but I would guess the sport. I'm not really a collector tho....

  • @spencerleeb Haro master is rarer. The Master was top of the line back then.

  • U sir are awesome! I had the 87 gt performer u are doing tricks on the 2009 video.I got into an accident late last year and while just feeling nostalgic i found the bmx museum and found a 97 dyno air and i made it all custom. After so many years i still can build a bike. After my cast was off i rode bike daily to help my foot. Now in the near future im gonna buy a 87-89 gt pro performer frame and a dyno detour and pro compe frames and build them. My buddy just got a 2009 haro freestyler repro

  • @bladdermetal Thanks! Hope ur legs heals up good!

  • music suckt

  • i have a blue haro i can only do xups and barspins and wheelies

  • where did you get that bike ive been trynig to get one

  • where can i get a bike like that ive been trying to get on just like that

  • Nice. ABout how many years experience at that time?

  • @TX97SR20DET About 3 and a half years

  • Oh to have that bike today, huh?! I just spent the past 45 minutes watching all your videos. I think its great you still do it (when you can) and still have the passion for it. Thats rad, dude! Keep makin videos :P

  • @Pj311foo Thanks man I appreciate that! I actually do still have that bike, I just dont ride it anymore, I like the GTs better and they are less valuable. I plan on makin a video soon but I have to rely on others to help me cause I dont know how to upload them haha!

  • i love the helmet!

  • can you still do these tricks?

  • nnow days tricks are way more complicated

  • it's crazy how things has changed since haha. Now Bmx is completly different

  • Best friends bro had a redline 2 perfect for freestyle.

  • thats horrible no ofense

  • @1supermonkeyman I know, I'm sure you are much better.

  • @1supermonkeyman Man U need to show some respect! thows guys were trendsetters, the reason people are doing what they do today is because of this dude! that was bad ass for 1986! I bet he placed in that competition!

    JJ

  • @1supermonkeyman

What an absolute jackass comment. It was 1985, FFS. What were you expecting- turbined steamrollers and no-handed pumping crackpackers? What he's doing in this video was about as good as it got.

  • is that a redline prostyler rl20 II?

  • best time of my life on my 86' hutch trick star i bought in the same year , freestyle rules !!!

  • whats the trick called at 1.44?

  • @beller132k10 back wheel hops into front wheels hops? The was also a one handed one footed stall, not sure which trick u mean...

  • that is just too awesome man.

  • 哇!勁-__-''

  • riding style has change so much since than.

  • like the new haro's in the corner. (=

  • awesome! love your work!

  • b r a v o

  • holelee shit

  • awsome footage, you can see that person biking in the 1984 haro biking tour, really great performer!

  • Sweet

  • Dang man!! That's some legit stuff! I just found an old kuwahara in my shed!

  • fist time ive seen tricks like that ur good

  • what is the last trick called?

  • @rawz97 The last trick is called "surfing" or a surfer.

  • This is a great vid! You are so right on about the quality... it's really impressive that there isn't any noise or dropout in the clip. Very smooth riding too!

  • No Miami Hopper? Awesome video non the less. A true blast from the past.

  • One of my other videos has a good Miami Hopper.

  • Dude, I'm trying to learn 80's flatland, could you help me out? I'll send u a message...

  • This is my favorite era for bikes. The colors were amazing! Your Haro ls to die for man. Great work!

  • Sick, very nice run.

  • it's really great what you can do on your (old) bmx

    Concratulation

  • I think whats really special about this video is the remarkable quality. The color and sound are great for a 25 year old video! Many of these 80s BMX videos are not as vibrant. Its a well preserved piece of BMX history! I consider myself lucky to own them!

  • all the people who think nothing special, you dont have a clue, this is what started it all, awsome run

  • noth. spesial--

  • Dude bloody amazing

  • Daaaaamn... Im BMX Rida' now but god damn it. almost beatiful except 1:57 ... this one little mistake. Hehe. Respectaaa... Pro Level run... HONESTY!! :D a lot of people dont understand how it Was a "few" yrs ago :D

  • As a former BMXer/Freestyle rider I can appreciate your run in the competion. A lot of people might not know it but back then, that was almost a "pro-level" run. I most admit I never learned how to do a "cherry picke.r" Believe me I' ve seen pros like R.L Osborne and Mike Buff do the same runs infront of thousands of people.

  • Thank you! thats a very nice compliment!!

  • Wow its amazing to see someone that actually remembers what the "Cherry Picker" was.

  • lol, i love this. reminds me of my days practicing on my neon green Mongoose FS1. great vid mate!

  • this vid is just as old as my GT dyno and celica. old skool ftw!!!!!!!!!

  • Did we really need the leathers, the half face helmet with visor, gloves and jersey??? I did one step better...I had the goggles over my visor!! LOL. Good times.

  • @4JayeP lol dude thats funny :)

  • @4JayeP lol @ goggles. I think the only damage my helmet took was when I threw it on the ground out of frustration.

  • cirk

  • Fantastic Wes!!!

  • dude this is great but ive seen better sorry dude

  • this reminds me of the movie "RAD"

  • Without the cheesy 80s music! Some may not like 50s rock and roll either, but its not "cheesy".

  • Besides, who in their right mind would not love to have that collection setting in the corner of the room?!

  • Che spettacolo...

  • awesome Wes!

  • Thanks Vicky!!!

  • bike looks like a peice of shit

  • By todays standards, maybe so. But in its day the Haro Master was a pretty decent bike.

  • it was i still have it but it is chrome that haro ground master was great

  • The Haro Master was a superb bike in the 80's, no question! I did not ride too much Freestyle BITD, but I raced everything from a Profile to a Prostar and I know how well the Haro product line was constructed. Most, if not all of my "freestylin" friends rode one Haro model or another, and they beat those bikes religiously! Some of their survivor bikes are still around and ridden on a regular basis. Hows that for quality, my friend?!

    Great video, bro! Thanks!

  • your awesome!!!!

  • man brings back memories, buds in school had Georgia style trick team.i got RAD on VHS downstairs, awesome.

  • It is good to know that in the same epoch and of another side of the world there were persons who were practising this sport, here in my country only we saw these sports for a few images trasmititas for TV.

Is incredible that now we could enjoy and see everything of all in the whole world.

    Regards from Argentina.

  • oh dude this is amazing!

    -mcl-

  • very nice to watch.

could I download this video ?

    I love it.

  • im sure i saw tiny little peg things u stud on on the Front tyre not sure about rear,on the forks, can any1 plz tell me what they are called or are the custom?

  • There are actually 2 sets on the front, the top set on the forks were standard equipment on the 85 Haro Master. The axle pegs were thread on type. Pegs were a new idea when then video was made. There are no pegs on the back but the Haro frame had flared chainstays with knurling on them for standing, which were basically useless lol! Ah the early days...

  • where is that master now?

  • It is hanging up in my garage, I don't ride it much anymore I have an 87 GT Performer that I ride mostly today.

  • cool im hunting down an 86 performer at the moment and always wanted a green master

  • i miss my old gt performer. it's long gone. I had painted it a dozen times, changed teh neck and handle bars another 10 times but the from was always my favorite.

  • flatland has sure come a long way.

  • go mag wheels!

  • haha he looks like a dork but hes pretty good. of course it was the 80s so that was cool back then

  • cool run- funny, how you spin the front-wheel during the CP.....Cherrypicker used to be my favorite-trick.riding for over 25yrs now.....bmx has come a long way since then....:RIDE ON.

  • brings back memories of me in diapers and my dad and his crew freestyling in an empty lot.

  • thats crazy bro! holy! i wish i could do that. lol thats awesome man, great job on the vid and everything

  • Thanks dude. Its amazing that this video which is almost 25 years old (!) still impresses people!

  • notta problem, and yea well frik peeple think bmx is just like bar spins and shit, and it aint, the flat land trix are the real deal

  • emokid.

    funny name.

  • those wer d proper tricks now everythig is pegs

  • 2:30

    is that a freecoaster?

  • Nope its a coaster brake hub. Don't have to backpedal with those.

  • dude u got some mad skillz!!!!!!! when ur bike fell though you got it right back up and did an awome trick so great job!

  • Actually, the bike fell down on purpose, thats how you got into a cherrypicker before the fire hydrant was invented!! This was the early days, man!! Axle pegs had only been out for a few months when this video was shot! Gyros weren't even invented yet!

  • Oh man is that old school. Cherry Picker, Surfing....I like it!

  • v nice lol xD

  • i love this

  • this is freakin sweet =)

  • Are there pegs on the frame and do you still have that bike??

  • No pegs on the frame but there are some on the forks. Yes I still have it.

  • lol

  • hey was that a freedoom 3 u were riding , my friend had one of those bad boys , simple design it had pegs on the wheels , and screw holes for pegs on the frame , like were your brakes were by the wheel. did you place in that comp ? i always wanted to do bike flat , but never had a good bike, but i did learn how to do that were you put the foot to brake it , and make the frame spin around , and get back on it, messed my legs up alot trying that.

  • No Its a Haro Master it was brand new when this comp was filmed. I won 1st place here. The trick you are talking about is a tailwhip, one of the few tricks I can still do!!

  • you deserve first

    that was crazy skills man

  • its called a foot jam tail whip not that hard but when your first learning it can be

  • Its cool that the cherrypicker showed up on the picture for this video. Its on one of my others also. Sorry I'm all out of cherrypickers lol!

  • wish I could do that

  • hehehhe he did realy goood good balance tooo

  • where in ohio?

  • Columbus.

  • im from parma!

  • sweet bike

  • lol the music sucks sooo hard and the people look sooo gay :D

but i think its a cool video so 5/5 :D its fun to watch (and NO im not gay ) xD

  • thats sick. and yo thats not gay. the bike is sick its old school colors.

  • gay bike

  • to you it looks gay but without that gay bikes it doesnt comes out today with sick bike or mans bike you idiot

  • dude thats amazing

  • Damn, are you pro?
