Hey StubyStubyDoo! I'm learning too. I just loaded up my first week video. Check it out if you want a laugh....and maybe you could give me some pointers. FAR OUT...your music just started. You're good!! I can't even think of singing right now. But I'm loving it. Now matter how newbish I am. Awesome! :)
@AllThatKazz - Kazz You are going to be shocked at how easy it is to learn ....just take lots of small steps ....a little every day ...and do it for your self and for fun.

I hadn't played an instrument till April either. My advice, go for it!. Learn the basic chords, learn songs that you like and it'll be easier than you imagine
I just watched your videos in order and I'm hooked. I started this year, too, but I'm not documenting my progress with anything like the charm that you bring to your posts. People like Ken Middleton and Krabbers and WS64 got me started, but it's people like you that will keep me at it. Thanks for your unique view of the ukulele experience.
have you tried messing around with strums that use just the thumb....like the 'bum diddy' or 'boom chicka' sounding strums....if you type in "lewdite" into youtube....he's got lots of vids and a few tutorials on some cool simple strums that work well for 'sensitive' stuff
There's Tie Me Kangaroo Down, You Are My Sunshine, Catch a Falling Star or (more up to date) Breakfast at Tiffanys. Country songs are always good - Yu Picked A Fine Time To Leave Me Lucille, Grandfather's Clock, All I Have To Offer You Is Me, Bring It On Home To Me......
...is that enough to be going on with. Damn it, you may never need to learn another chord. I believe that's what happened to Francis Rossi.
Hey - not too many 3 chord songs otherwise what am I gonna play?
G Em C D - Dream by the Everlys or Blue Moon
I just did Big Rock Candy Mountain, but a grat mumber of American folk tunes have a Root 3rd 5th chord progression - Li'l Liza Jane, Oh, When The SAints, Down By The Riverside, On Top Of Old Smokey, Turkey In The Straw.
I was just saying to myself the other day root 3rd and 5th chord progressions are the way forward. Once I've worked out what they are of course. Must admit I have an aversion to Country music not all ...but lots. However - I will take up some of your suggestions as a way of self improvement UKE wise and character wise

Thanks for this list of ideas Tony. I'll work a short list out soon.
Rolf is a no-no because such legends should never be covered - and I'd be obliged to grow a beard.
I tried to Learn cruel to be kind - just could,t get a strum pattern for love nor money. Talent would have helped - shame!

I was just showing off and I probably got it wrong anyway.
I bet if you searched songs with 3 chords on google you'd get loads
