@Tacityoshi1234 It's his ghost, I think. That would explain his lamp and the fact that his face is diferent. It looks like the moon he summoned from the Twilight Realm. Also, his instrument looks like and sounds exactly like Deku Link's instrument. I know there's a lot of theories in my comment but they all make so much sense I have no choice but to believe them.

In young Link's time, he goes to Termina and Majora's Mask happens. Years later, Ganondorf breaks free of his imprisonment and Twilight Princess happens.

In adult Link's time, Ganondorf is sent to the Sacred Realm. Later on, Link dies and Ganondorf breaks free; the Gods flood Hyrule then Wind Waker and its precedesors occur.

WW/PH/SS simply take place at the end of Child Link's timeline as Adult Link's time was rolled back to Child Link's and therefore only exists in the memories of those involved. also Link doesn't have a constant life through each game. there are multiple Links and there are multiple Zeldas that are all spiritual successors of the former. think reincarnation. however, there is only one Ganon who cannot die because of the Triforce of Power.

Even without this, though, I think the split timeline theory is the most interesting.

However, the "just a legend" one has credibility too; most of the games are just different retellings of an old legend of a boy and his sword.

Like WW and PH, they take place on the sea, where the kingdom of Hyrule is drowned beneath the ocean. Not sure about Spirit Tracks.

Majora's Mask is a direct sequal to OOT, and Twilight Princess obviously takes place some time after that.

@ZiggyR2750 Basically, Spirit Tracks (according to Eiji Aonuma) is supposed to take place about 100 years after PH, which bears out in the game itself; there's a stained glass window depicting Tetra in New Hyrule Castle (and ST Zelda mentions her by name at least once), Niko is still alive (but really old), your train engineer instructor is obviously a descendant of Gonzo, and you not only meet Linebeck III, but you can visit the grave of the original one from PH.
