I am so glad they got home before midnight. I think I would have cried too. I am jealous you can see fireworks from where you live. We don't even hear any here :( As for my new years, I had dinner with Zach, my parents and grandparents and then we played dominoes and ate food until midnight. So about as exciting as yours. Maybe someday we can have a not-so-exciting new years together...or actually make it exciting like we'd like :P

happy new year!! I was ill on New Years Eve (still am) with a horrible bronchitis so I spent the day in hospital and the evening with my bf and parents on the couch, drinking juice and watching the fireworks from the inside. :( it was still nice and cosy but dissapointing.

Wine is always nice and fireworks are just something that seem to go off more often than on special occasions now...For New Years Eve I watched The Crow, drank Monster Energy and then spoke to my friend in New York! I know they were almost late coming back, but luckily they weren't and they spent the rest of the night with you =D

I have had a lot of unusual new years but I think that makes it more interesting. This time I hung out with my friend, her husband and their three year old. ^_^ We danced, watched a movie and did some geeky things. haha

Oh my god! Those fireworks were amazing!! I've never seen anything like that, so many going off all together! In fact in my town they didn't have any at all... they passed a bylaw a couple of years ago that doesn't let us have fireworks or backyard fires :(

In regards to your camera screen turning off, it could be that the metal mounting bracket you glued around the screen is just covering the proximity sensor (its the black thing under the viewfinder that looks sort of like a solar panel. Normally, its job is to turn off the LCD when your face is up to the camera.) So you could try readjusting this frame. If its a software issue, maybe the firmware is buggy and needs to be updated... I hope that helps and happy new year! :-)

Nice to see you're not afraid to show your laid back new year's eve. Having a blast of a party with fancy food and getting drunk is not neccessary to have a good new year's eve. It can be fun, though.

I spent the evening quietly with my mum and her boyfriend. We drank Asti at midnight and watched fireworks from our windows. Not even dressed up. I wasn't in the mood for partying anyway. :)

<3 that looked quite adorable. I'm glad you didn't end up alone. I went to a party (more just a get together) with some close friends but I was really anxious about it. Most of them are in long term relationships so I was trying not to feel sorry for myself about the whole midnight/kissing thing as I'm single at the moment. It ended up not a big deal at all and I'm happy I went.

@10KLaura - What are you talking about!!??? The London fireworks were GREAT!!!! I live up north though, so I didn't get to be AT them. And, I'll tell you, I've seen some great fireworks in my life. Where I come from, in the US, we had fireworks for about 45 min, when the Statue of Liberty reopened. This was like that, but shorter.
