The bit about the curtain is likely a reference to the idea that the night sky was like a cloak stretched over the firmament. The Bible makes frequent references to the idea that the sky is like a giant glass dome, and that outer space is actually full of water.

Furthermore "the firmament" or "the heavens" always relies on the astronomical model common at the time of a canopy with small lights afixed to it. rather than describing a model where the sky is a vast space with many bodies floating in it. Which is why the description is always that of "stretching" the firmament across the sky as a tent, or a curtain, rather than a vast 3 dimensional space "expanding".
If two oxygen molecules are moving away from each other they aren't stretching, they are moving away from each other. Expanding =/= Stretching. If I take two baseballs and throw one directly north and the other directly south, there is no stretching or tension between the two objects, they are simply getting farther from each other.
The problem with many of the "the bible said it first" arguments is that no reasonable person, WITHOUT prior scientific knowledge to the truth of "something", would draw that conclusion from reading the bible.

Explain the shape of the graph at 8:40. It is the graph of mass in grams vs. time where g(t) = 1/(t+c) + k where c shifts the basic graph of 1/t to the left by c units and k shifts the basic graph of 1/t up by k units making g(t) go to k as x grows large with (1/c) + k being the starting mass.

and just to be clear "my" (mine hand/my hand) is the the nominative singular pronoun referring to the speaker himself (or herself). This is why you need to use has in the simple present. "'My hand has a scar" not "My hand HAVE a scar".

WTF? Has does NOT equal past, has is the he/she/it form of have- I have a car , She has a car (not "she have a car" ). Thus, 'My hand has laid the foundation...' is not past because of 'has' but because "laid" is the simple past of lay. And yes, hath is also the third-person singular simple PRESENT indicative form of have.You're thinking of the word "had." This is a demonstrably clear error which should be corrected.

Here "hath/has" is referring to the actions carried out (past tense - "laid", "spanned") by his hand, not to something which his hand possesses. Try "Mine hand also possesses laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand possesses spanned the heavens." See? It's not "good" english, but it's the bible after all.

@dj2baduk Touché, I do stand slightly corrected, has is being used as an auxiliary verb. But because of that laid is the past participle of lay. This creates the present perfect tense (has + past participle) so "has = past" is still factually wrong. Yes, the the action is completed but not because of "has". Has (alone) = Present, look it up (pres. perf. too). The present perfect in the most basic sense expresses an action or state completed at the time of speaking (the present, hence the "has").

That's just arbitrary nonsense. Darkness in the passage you're discussing refers to the absence of light. We have absolutely no reason to assume otherwise. The term "Dark Matter" was coined to refer to it's mysterious nature, not it's colour or the fact that it absorbs light. They could just as easily have called it "Grey matter" or "Curious matter". Where does it say "curiosity was on the face of the deep" or "grey was on the face of the deep"? Come on

The bit about the curtain is likely a reference to the idea that the night sky was like a cloak stretched over the firmament. The Bible makes frequent references to the idea that the sky is like a giant glass dome, and that outer space is actually full of water.

Furthermore "the firmament" or "the heavens" always relies on the astronomical model common at the time of a canopy with small lights afixed to it. rather than describing a model where the sky is a vast space with many bodies floating in it. Which is why the description is always that of "stretching" the firmament across the sky as a tent, or a curtain, rather than a vast 3 dimensional space "expanding".

If two oxygen molecules are moving away from each other they aren't stretching, they are moving away from each other. Expanding =/= Stretching. If I take two baseballs and throw one directly north and the other directly south, there is no stretching or tension between the two objects, they are simply getting farther from each other.

So it's not at all surprising that when science discovers something, people can look up their KJV and go "hey, if we just read this in a way the author never meant, add some assumptions and remove some metaphors, that's EXACTLY what it says!!" People do the same thing with Nostradamus.

He thinks because there is some choppiness in the backgrounds that there is no greenscreen, and that the guy in the background is super imposed after the movie was finished to hide some kind of special effect blunder on VFX's part.
