  • Wow GR8 job! If you want to hear it played by two guitars check out our video!

  • Great video and what a wonderful song!

  • how the heck do you do the middle part???

  • i dont like it, I LOVE IT

  • nice job!

  • This is the perfect piano for this song. So wonderful.

    *flashes back to childhood memories*

  • very cool

  • I'm currently learning to play this I can play both right and left hand parts it's just on this particular song I can't seem to put them together to save my life. Ho hum...u seem to do it very well.

  • Beautifully played... sadly there are audio problems with the video: slight crackling throughout the video.

  • how do you play the part 1:10

  • Masterfully rendered!

  • awsome

  • Best rendition that I've heard here on youtube! It sounds to me like you've matched the tempo, technique, feeling and nuances that is closest mirrored to the original. And the original is a masterpiece! Thanks for sharing your talent.

  • classic enjoyment!

  • @ZeroCA1129 OMGsh....it's a wormhole back to by pre-incarnate life! Thank you SO much for sharing!

  • UGH! I know all the notes and stuff, but I just can't play the right hand and left hand together! I'm so mad!

  • The best version I have heard on youtube.

  • That was great! The best version on youtube.

  • Nice!

  • Sound quality leaves something to be desired, sure, but your interpretation of this is pure beauty.

  • Very true to the original. This is a very difficult piece to play. It is hard to keep a steady tempo. Often is I see people rush it and it ends up sounding constipated. Very well done, Vince Guaraldi would be proud.

    Excellent

  • Want to make anyone smile? Just play this.

  • Very good... excellent actually! the bass stays on a mechanic tempo very consistently as it should the jazz style is great. Dynamics placed wonderfully

  • Bringing me back 40 years, thanks!

  • Wonderful, thanks!

  • you actully sound like Vince Guaraldi Grater work!!!!!!! it is perfect!

  • Love this song, I still think it looks hard to do, sounds like I would have to do alot of consistency with this song. Well done!

  • awesome! where did you get that version? cus i know the version i have is from "a charlie brown christmas" piano solo book and the part in between the refrain is much different.

  • Dude, he improvised that. You just watched a jazz pianist at work.

  • I loved that

  • WOW!!

  • AWESOME!! Is it hard to play this song? I might be getting a piano soon and I wanna know how to play this song!

  • It's not hard. It's just figuring out the hand placement so that the bass part is easily played.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!! it's so jazzy

  • we played this for our band concert

  • decent

  • this is hot man. fa real

  • Bravo!!

  • Wonderful job!

  • That's not an easy tune to play and he sounds like he's MASTERED it. Great Job!

  • Wow amazing playing of one of my all-time favorite songs. Great job!

  • this is the only guy whom at the beggining of the song, the tune sounds right.

  • The key to playing this tune is not to rush the ostinato figure. The only person playing double-time feel is either the drummer in a real live situation, or the drummer in your head keeping time. I really feel that bass ostinato in cut time rather than in 4/4

  • it sounds like your playing this one octave too low

  • no its right

  • ok my bad

  • wow, i love this song

  • is what your playing a bought version of the sheet music?

i have one variation...but its missing the first jazzy break

    ????

  • I'm playing based on the original 1965 release as performed by Vince Guaraldi. I just extended the swing section farther than the original

  • GREAT!

  • Niiiiiccce!

  • Who's the artist credited with playing this lovely melody in "A Charlie Brown Christmas" special? Was it the composer/writter 'Vince Guaraldi' or David Benoit?

  • If you're referring to the 1965 Christmas special yes it is Vince Guaraldi

  • Thanks!!! And Congratulations on your interpretation of this marvelous musical piece.

  • Well if you think about it, the people who actually take the time to write and perform the songs are the real pros. Not to sound rude or anything but you shouldn't boast too much about your son, there are many great pianists out there. Don't overlook that.

  • I agree with that. If you sound too confident in your son, then people tend to be put off.

  • well you should be proud....because he is excellent. good job to both of you!

  • If youre so confident in your son, how bout you post a video of him playing?

  • Amazing work!

  • But it's really amazing :D Definitely one of the best on youtube. Especially since you bothered to do the whole song!

  • I think you might be supposed to put the pedal on for the middle bridge. Sounds better on mine. But I could be wrong, I've got a keyboard, not piano.

  • That's really good, it sounds more like the real song should sound than most of the other videos on this site.

  • im learing this atm..

    the swing part

    is soooo...hard.....

    anyways..

    you just perfected it..

    im so jealous.. :]

  • That's a lot better than many versions I've heard on here, even taking into account sound quality. If I were you, I'd swing the middle section more (the section that everyone forgets is in the piece).

  • Hey, it was great! Did u add bits in yourself? Well, i was just wondering if you had the sheet music to do this? Or if anyone could tell me where to get some that would be great

    Thanks

  • nice nice!!!!!!!!!!

  • My son said he can play like this, i really long to see and hear u play it son. i luv u vm mom

  • my piano really needs a tune-up, it doesn't sound ad good as that!

  • inspirational man

    awesome

  • you're awesome on piano!

  • it looks like ur in a prison cell but very good :)

  • lol it's a dimly lit practice room

  • lol oops :P

  • One word for you....W-O-W. Amazing. Two thumbs way way up!

  • dig the improv dude...thumbs way up

  • my music teacher play it in class i love it!

  • this song is so awesome!

i dance to it idk why? LOL

    this is the best

  • do you dance like in the christmas special of Charlie Brown? :)

  • nice improv.

    kudos

  • i dont think thats the way you play it

  • Definitely favourited. You're really good.

    Two Hundred and Twenty Six/Five.

  • I feel so good; I´m very happy with this song. I love it too. Thanks!

  • Love it. Love it. Absolutely LOVE IT.

Couldn't stop dancing to the tune!!!

    Merry Christmas, everyone!

  • good comment but no offense but christmas is over XD

  • I don't think this is the correct version like everyone says - it's very different from the one I play and have music for... Did you put your own improv in or something? It sounds like you're missing a lot of notes during the first part where it changes from the original melody. The swing section has to be improv of your own.

  • To say that jazz has a "correct" version is somewhat absurd because jazz is improvisation. As far as the swing solo, yes that was improvised by me, but every recorded version you hear Vince Guaraldi play has that swing section solo. As for the change from the melody, I am playing the correct chords but just in inversion because it's hard to cover the bass and still keep a latin feel going over that.

  • F*ckin' timeless!

  • mmm.. hot chocolate and *BEAUTIFUL* music.

props to you boy, you play so well!!

  • There are many unbelievable instrumentals posted on YouTube. Im still looking for one I heard ar 6 years old. Tough to do if all you know is the melody with no title

  • This is the original and best version

  • sheet music?? there's a place in Pitssburgh,Pa called Volkwein's. look em up on the web. they have it and can get it for you!!

  • This is by car the best, and most accurate version on YouTube. Much better than mine. Much better.

    Great Job.

  • Wooo -- really good keyboarding! Thank you for this wonderful song from the memories when I was a kid.

  • I agree. When I heard this on TV a few days ago, I suddenly felt a big connection to my childhood again.

I'm lucky that it was only a little more than ten years ago and that my memory is so good.

  • can u make another except from the top so i can learn the notes xD

  • does anyone know where i can get the sheet music?

  • Woo! Sounds great, exactly like it should!! Good job! BTW, nice piano.

  • i hardly ever comment on youtube...but this was truly amazing...very nice job. perhaps you could transcribe your version with all the frill and post it somewhere

  • Dude, you kicked Ass!!!!

    Sounds great!

  • do you have any music in front of you?

i don't see you turning any pages or anything, so this must mean yo have it memorized?

  • Yeah I memorized it.

  • :)awsome

  • Wow, you added some extra bits in, very nice.

  • i liked that

  • i love this song! lol and you play very well =)

  • Excellent job!

This piece in particular is very difficult, and is the only song I have played so far that I cannot do well 100% I can't do the jazzy parts well, just the main theme and the ending. O and the DA DA DA DA! But you, my friend, are BRILLIANT!

  • Superb!

  • Very good job on playing this! You play it much better than I do! :P

  • They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

I am going to try to incorporate some of the great little flourishes you played into my own "Linus and Lucy" rendition. Yours was the best interpretation I have heard. Thanks for the post!

  • very, very nice. I can't get the finger roll correct on the top part quite the way you do it. Kudos.

  • This looks like it was filmed at Howard university

  • Beautifully played and happily listened to.

  • very nice.. ilike it. Do u by any chance have the music sheets to this? i've been looking for it but can't find it.

  • You should get a book called "The Peanuts Songbook" and it's got most of Vince's early music in it including Linus and Lucy

  • My little Chihuahua (Pedro) and I just love you playing this ! His little ears stand straight up !

Thanks for posting it,You are GOOD ! "KUDOS"

  • Ha! Finally someone playing the whole song with the middle section... not the same notes as the original, but I definitely like it. Very jazzy, well done. =)

  • yeah this si god i wanna try it (O_O)

  • its alright... MUCh better than others on here! but i still ike my video better....

  • Hands down the Best Linus and Lucy Theme on YouTube!

    Truly-Truly Gifted! Thanks. O.O
