  • Do they actually think that when you gain the weight you're supposed to be cured?

  • LOL at 9:54

  • Declan is hot

  • Rhodes Farm puts WAY too much focus on calories. I was never told how many calories I was getting or how many in the food.

  • At 1:55 --that's Naomi from 'Child Anorexic'. She was having some trouble stopping exercising :/

  • @Insanitycoffee yes, I saw her in more of these documentaries... looks like she´s been there for ages :(

  • Comment removed

  • you feel safe in treatment and you're surrounded by people just like you and you trust so easily there thats probably why these poor kids are stressed and scared!!!

  • @GabeForSale2K Jeez, thank you. Can't stand the way people go on on these videos, saying they think this or that is wrong or whatever. I'm like, where the fuck is your doctorate? How do you think you have any authority to tell these people how to do their jobs?

  • Declan is cute. Simon is Cute. Warren is adorable :D x

  • I feel so sad for these children. Notice how it all stemmed from bullies, and perception of being fat. People are so mean and don't realise the consequences of bullying.

  • NAOMI!!! Gosh NOOOO!

  • @theplushfatty01 I agree :D

  • Declan is soooo cute

  • Declan is sooo cute

  • Declan,Very Cute Lol... But i wouldent be upset if i gaind a bit more its not like hes "Fat"He Quite skinny for a 15 year old boy

  • omg declan is fat again

  • with children their age weight fluctuates so much its ridiculous making them consume this amount of calories its not healthy and their body is going to respond to it in the wrong way!!! Good wholesome meals is the best way to go not high in fat crap.

  • "3250 quite alot for him" no shit that's alot for the average grown man...jeez

  • The anorexic kids are all like aliens in their parents' home.

And really, can't these parents learn the minimum about nutrition, considering the situation?

  • @suddenlyitsobvious

Yeah, especialy concidering you can learn about it from reading the side of a freaking cerial box.

  • And now look what's on the table at Simon's home. Fanta with their meal? Hmmm.. Sugary CO2 drinks are garbage.

Now look at those sandwiches they're eating. Does that look good? No, it doesn't & Simon insists on having a prepackaged sandwich from the supermarket, which really says it all. His own family grosses him out.

It seems so far there's definitely a massive communication problem involved.

  • Declan's parents don't appear to be able to communicate with him at all...

  • @9327236 The problem is, often these kids are at deaths door and are painfully thin and need food quickly. Many Eating Disorder patients do have out-patient treatment, which is like what you say bringing them closer, talking with them, changing their lifestyles, addressing their issues and gaining self acceptance...but in-patient treatment is designed for those who need re-feeding and quickly. Im sure these boys will have had out-patient treatment once they got released...

  • Cut dem toenails

  • Thank you so much for uploading, i remember watching this months before and got very touched so i decided to look at it again

  • Aww poor warren.. he's so adorable too, like in a little brother way.. u just wanna hug him and screw up his hair D:

  • Ughhh I still can't get over how cuteee Declan is!

  • omg im gonna eat more now im 15 and 90 pounds since i watched this im 96 IMAO

  • @cloveredrover Studies have shown that when you're underweight (as much as these kids are) you simply can't reflect and get anything out of psycological treatment. So the first step of getting healthy is to get their weight back to normal and then (or while you are gaining weight) you can get mental help to deal with the problems that gave you anorexia. That is also why they are eating so many calories. They simply have to get their bodies up and going again after being so starved

  • you guys dont realize that peoples bodies that have been starving respond differently to food than a normal body. 3250 calories will have the same result in an anorexic as 2000 calories in a normal healthy person. i know this because i am anorexic and have been in these clinics, and living with anorexia for years.

  • 3250 calories ??!!...that is absolutely too much, even for someone who's underweight!!...I think 1500-2500 is enough.

  • I'm 6'5" and eat about 3500 calories a day and I'm nearly obese. They are making them eat way too much.

  • this clinic's kinda messed up...

  • this makes me want to eat like a 3 pound meal now

  • They should be a lot more careful about the weight gain/loss at that clinic. Too much on either side can create too much pressure, they should take it slower and not chastise anyone for losing a pound or two, especially when Warren gets sick and can't control that he's lost some weight.

  • Is that niomi from am a child anorexic at 2:00 to 2:06

  • @TheAngelinalovefan yeah it is.

  • If they're just 100g off their target, can't they just drink a glass of water or do they somehow know the difference between fat gain and water gain?

  • @TimpBizkit They monitor water, so they can't tank it before weigh in.

  • the giving him 3250 because he needs the enrgy he needs to gain weight and his organs reparing the more the quicker he will get healty

  • 3250!! They want to make him obese. OMG. I barely take in 2000, I can just imagine how much food that is.

  • 3250?!!

thats a lot for him?! thats like a lot for anyone. i really dont like that. i would kill myself if i was stuck there. my 500 cals a day are more than enough for me

  • @melanielovex 500 cals a day?...... okay, then.....

  • I find Simon's mother's attitude irritating for some reason. she comes across like dealing with Simon's recovery is too much bother. Love his dad, though.

  • To punish these kids for natural weightloss that's out of their control is so fucking sick. God I hate that clinic & Dee is worst of them all, every time she opens her mouth something degrading about her patiens comes out. Argh!

  • 3250 cals for a growing boy recovering from anorexia is probably just fine. My dietician says when you are recovering from anorexia your body can go into a hypermetabolic state. On top of that, they need to gain. When I was in treatment the girls on weight restoration ate about 4000 cals a day and some STILL lost weight at first. I don't think its a good idea to tell them how many cals they're eating though.

  • noooo way! 0:52 NAOMI!

  • @11moii Yes, that's her

  • please understand these kids need a LOT of calories to gain weight because they are also still growing, it's not just putting some more meat on a frame; the frame itself is also expanding.

  • They should definitely just use more calorie dense food. Putting more nuts or peanut butter in oatmeal would help them get more cals and not feel so full.

  • Omg Naomi is STILL there?!!!!

  • I like Simon, he does karate (I do kung fu) and I feel sorry for him that because of his illness he has been restricted from practicing and going to class. Of course he has to get better, but it must be hard.

  • i love how the boys play with each other-lol

  • interesting soundtrack

  • the family and clinic are making these kids more focused on the friggen calories. would make anyone obsessed!

  • I'm actually kind of horrified by what in-patient treatment is like. Fair enough, a developing young male... but 3250? Upping the calories to that much because someone loses a pound when they're ill? I'm also kind of shocked that they are told how many calories they are eating and their exact weight but I guess that's just how it goes. I hope I never have to go to IP...

  • @daisychaain Some of the kids become fat, if they ever made me go fat I would go crazy and try to kill someone.

  • @daisychaain 3250 cals for a growing boy recovering from anorexia is probably just fine. My dietician says when you are recovering from anorexia your body can go into a hypermetabolic state. • @daisychaain I also think that's really strange. Just upping the amount of calories to make them re-gain weight fast isn't ok. I've been to IP and they did it more gradually. Yes, it takes longer but it's more healthy and keeps you feeling better about food and not super-full. Also it is more of how 'real life' is

  • @daisychaain that's not really that much. Im a girl and when i was recovering i was given that much on a low day. I know girls who had to have 6000 calories a day to make their weight gain, no joke.

  • Deathcab for cutie and Dashboard Confessional, the soundtrack is really.. disturbing.

  • @InMyLittleTown Hi. Can you please tell me the name of the songs played by Death Cab For Cutie and Dashboard Confessional? Thanks for any help!

  • @ichigomentos Sure!

Death cab for cutie - I will follow you into the dark

Death cab for cutie - Brothers on a Hotel Bed

Death cab for cutie - A lack of color

    Dashboard Confessional - Don't wait

  • @InMyLittleTown Thank you so very much!

  • 3250 cals?! wtf?!?! they seem to be setting him up for failure

  • @lilbeatch Not true Americans eat that much in one sitting through fast food chains! lol

  • @lilbeatch : No they don't. They must concentrate on gaining weight. SO there are only two possibilities... staying still, or eat more!

  • @JeMeChaTB yeh but 3250 is fucking ridiculous!

  • @lilbeatch Well, he won't be eating that much when he gets out... it's only that high to try and get him to quickly regain the weight he lost. You've got to understand that at Rhodes Farm the target weights are the very minimum healthy weights for these kids... losing a kilo or two can actually be fairly serious for them, even when they're at their targets.

  • @lilbeatch That amount of calories is NOT a lot for someone of their very young age and their health status! Not at all

  • @lilbeatch they go down to a maintenance level once they've gained enough.

  • if you go to 1.58 you can see Naomi from 'I'm a child anorexic' that was also shot here months before. I've always wanted to know what happened to her as she was having a really hard time, I hope she's on the road to recovery now though.

  • its luvly seeing them play and hav fun and be like any other teenage boy:)

  • I miss those days...having to worry about nothing was the best time in a life of teenage boy...except if u were anorecxis...wasnt my case bec I was eating twice wat my father could eat lol and I was still skinny no matter how much food I was eating lol

  • Lol. That's what I've always hated about boys-Them and their stupid metabolism always beating mine. Grrr.

  • I am having that same problem, what is happening now. What has happened?
