I'm interested in Elizabeth Zimmermann's Norweigan Sweater (yours looks very nice) from Knitting Without Tears. She suggests a machine stitch around the baste to anchor the steek. Would the single crochet anchor stitch work? Could you explain why it wouldn't work (your comment to the video indicates that it won't work)? Would hand sewing the steek instead of machine sewing work just as well (I don't have a sewing machine)? Thanks! (I'm cookknitpaint on ravelry).
