The reason why bungie gave away Halo to another company is because they want it to see a new trilogy but possibly want to work with something else. Its like babysiting or adopting someone's ideas. The covenant are still technically around and possibly also the flood is also around somewhere and they had very small roles due to Gravemind only been shown as a head/face once and as tentacles for about a minutes/seconds. it will be cool if a new evil alien alliance against humans were to be made.

So bungie split from Microsoft, the owners of halo, and joined with activision to start developing their own games. Now, microsoft has created 343 Industries to continue making the halo line of games. Their first release is going be a revamp Halo:CE. After that, 343 hasnt said. As for bungie, they havent released what their working on yet.

The cool is that Master Chief is in Reach too. If you got the game, at last mission, when the Pillar Of Atutumn is about to leave, a pelican flies into the hangar. At that point, you are able to look around you. If you look to the right, you will see Master Chief in some kind of box(I don't know much about Halo, I bought my first Halo game, Reach a couple of weeks ago) , just as he did in the beginning of Halo1!

Master Chief was not on Reach but batteling outside of Reach. And i think i may have not made myself clear. I meant that they will battle, not on reach for the final battle but just the final battle for the storyline, and Master Chief will help them.

A zero gee op on a orbatal station to destroy a data crystal that contained the location to Earth. While red team lead by Fred, was enroute to protect the generators. There were 20 spartans that went groundside. Linda and John than boarded the Pillar and then proceeded to halo.
