@503Archangel actually the kingdom in this story is a malay kingdom(the real name of the kingdom is pattani but they change it to another kingdom name which is langkasuka) but is now in modern day thailand, the movie was supposed to be called queens of pattani but they change it to queens of langkasuka(which is now known as kedah) because of the south thailand insurgency

There's no Thailand in 17th Century. Thailand only exist 1943. It was Siam before that either Ayutthaya or Sukhotai Kingdom. This Langkasuka movie is really based loosely on Hikayat Pattani. It became Pattani after Langkasuka Kingdom became Islamic kingdom in 12 Century, way before Malacca. Right, most people only know about Melaka as the Malay Kingdom. The Malay Peninsula should go further up to Suratthani and Ligor(now Nakorn Sithammarat)

Nice history to read about. In Admiral Zheng He (Cheng Ho) voyages, Siam was called by the name Siem Lo by the chinese. From Thailand to Indonesia, it has Brahmin-Hinduism culture enclosed in it, so as can see, Sanskrit wirting is common all the way like the Majapahit Kingdom prior to Islamism and arrival of western belief and religion. :)

malaysians cant produce this film because 1. gullible by british history that mentioned malays in the past only fight with Keris, 2. Malaysians sway by hollywood film thats why they produce garbage film like cicakman (malay version of spiderman). 3.
