Thank You for sharing that info with me. I have a consult with a well known Dr. in Baltimore and am hoping I will like what he has to say. It is so horrible how your Dr. treated you after he was paid. My Dr. did not ignore me but ignored the fact that anything was wrong even though other Dr's I consulted with disagreed. He was ignoring me in that respect and it was soo dishartening. Best of Luck

so I finally got my cast off yesterday and my face is still stiff... it's been 3 weeks post op and my face looks totally different.. : / I also wanted to know if there is a way to clean your nose... I don't want to ruin it if I run my nose with water and soap.. I have a lot of black heads which I don't like and lots of deadskin on my nose as well.. Can you help me how to clean my nose properly? can I also shower and wet my nose as well?
@Mashimuzy I used wet qtips to clean the dried blood from my nose. I had the same blackheads on my nose, it was so rough and gross! I just used biore pore strips for that. You can shower and wet your nose, but you shouldn't put your nose directly under the shower head for a bit.
i feel the same about having to get it done with the surgeon i've started having consultations with because of the money that's all ready been spent, but he's so arrogant! i'm really not sure i want it done with him >.<
@lauraacanfly Yeah, getting a consultation is already an investment so you can feel kind of trapped. If you don't like him- you should look for someone else.
@zachfresh my nose feels normal now, I haven't had any problems. The only thing different is the inside of my nose is a little odd with small pieces sticking out in weird places.
Kasey I appreciate your honesty about not liking your nose..So many people get on here and say they love their new noses..and they may...anyway I'm getting mine done Dec 22 2011 with a doctor in Dallas who only does noses...I have a hump in my nose and large tip with big nostrils..Hopefully he will fix alll of this...when you woke up from surgery did you freak out about not being able to breathe out of your nose? @45silvergold Good luck! When I woke up I didn't freak out, but I was being a total weirdo. They had put a wet cloth over my eyes and I peeked my eyes out of the bottom of it and kept looking around from side to side for my doctor or for my friend who was picking me up. I must have been moving around too much because the nurse told me to calm down. You will have to get used to breathing from your mouth for a while.

@KaseyRhinoplasty it went smoothly.... I did my eyelid surgery as well and that hurts the most.. I don't have any bruising around my eyes area, but I do have some swelling since I did my eye surgery..
@KaseyRhinoplasty I could tell my nose has gotten a lot smaller than before which I am pleased about and my process took about 5 hours.. I was in the surgery room around 12 pm, and got out around 5... Once I was in the room, the doctor was really polite to me and he said that everything would be fine.. He called out my name a couple of times and after that I knocked out..

also, have you addressed these concerns with your surgeon? and did your surgery have insurance? most surgeons agree to do a free revision if it's been more than a year and you aren't happy.
@DoesHeLookLikeAB1tch thanks, I definitely think I look different as well. I did address these concerns with my surgeon multiple times, but he just had an excuse every time. Even a year after my surgery I was still unhappy, and he just continued to say that it was still swollen. My surgeon did not offer anything after finding out that I was unhappy with his work.

this is so sad to me :( i had my rhinoplasty with dr.aston at 15 1/2 (which i agree is very young but dr.aston said it's fine once you're on a regular menstrual cycle). i broke my nose when i was 13 and it left me with a nasty bump on my nose and major breathing issues. i've never been as happy with my appearance as i am now. i'm 6 months post op and there is no doubt that my rhinoplasty changed my life. i've never been able to breathe as well as i do now and my nose is 10x more fitting
Be careful about a revision. Another doctor may not be able to do anything significant but will take your money anyway. The best guys don't even advertise on youtube or the net. You find them in academic papers. Your healing sometimes takes longer than 1 year. Watch "AmyLane11" on youtube, you will see PHENOMENAL results that aren't even final results and they didn't occur till month 7-8. You look good now I think you will look even better in 6 months, just give it time.
First of all, your nose looks very good. I also had a rhino and had a similar experience in terms of day of surgery. DO NOT let this affect your opinion of the doctor. The proof is in the pudding. My doc is a known dickhead, however he is the best. Like maybe THE BEST. So I didn't mind. The doctor was probably looking at your pictures very, very closely before the surgery and doing mental prepwork. They tend to take longer because they are perfectionists.

@jianak95 No I had a different doctor, but I've only heard good things about Dr. Rizk. There are two doctors I would consider getting a revision rhinoplasty from and they are Dr. Rizk and Dr. Jennifer Walden.
Also I wanted to mention that when I went in to get my cast removed, the surgeon did NOT remove my cast & had his assistant remove it for me. She removed the cast and said we were done. I asked her when I needed to get my stitches removed, and she said I didn't have stitches. I definitely did have stitches and she did remove them after I pointed it out, but she obviously was not prepped or prepared to do the removal of the cast/stitches.

Also I wanted to mention that when I went in to get my cast removed, the surgeon did NOT remove my cast & had his assistant remove it for me. She removed the cast and said we were done. I asked her when I needed to get my stitches removed, and she said I didn't have stitches. I definitely did have stitches and she did remove them after I pointed it out, but she obviously was not prepped or prepared to do the removal of the cast/stitches.
