I saw Jason do this when I saw the Idol tour in KC that year. This was the performance that really sold me on him as an artist. I didn't really care one way or the other about him when he was on Idol, but seeing him live totally changed my mind.

Nobody compares to The Gifted Adam Lambert even in our lifetimes or before....possibly MJ in terms of creativity (only)....but I like Jason Castro and he does share something with Adam. He obviously loves music and was able to find his own interpretations. He needs to work more, take ALOT of vocal lessons which will help him enormously. He has his own charismatic gift but it won't hold up if he doesn't learn how to use his instrument correctly.

It's probably better than anything else Castro performs, but if you've seen Adam Lambert's version, this just doesn't compare. Jason just doesn't have the powerhouse voice to belt it out like Adam can.

Still interesting though, and certainly a respectable performance.

Anyway, since everyones comparing (thats what you wanted didnt ya Jeff?), I will to. Archie has a gorgeous voice, I prefer Jasons tone & rich, clear, pure vocals but Archie can obv sing. Having said that, I felt no emotion from his intepretation of Crazy whereas I heard tons from Jasons. JMO :)

Notice how the Archies (in general) have a knack of bombarding other contestant's, (particularly Jason's) pages? 99% of Jason fans are polite and mature like him. Archie = awesome. His fans = notsomuch.

Seeing as Archie had no idea he would be performing this, it's obvious his competitive father organized it to 'show off his kid'. I really like Archie (as a person) but his father, well...he's amusing to say the least. Just for the record, Archie's take on this lacks everything the song is about.

Poor Archie with the stage dad from hell. When he gets old enough he'll tell Dad to back off just like Tiger told his dad and Brooke Shields told her mother and the Jackson 5 told their dad. It's wonderful that these parents support and help their children get started and suceed but never should they be the ones to seek the lime-light. The question is who are they really doing all this work for, theirself or their child.

This was my 1st year watching Idol. People who've watched from the 1st show tell me this year had the most talented & varied group ever. But judging was meaner & sometimes cruel. There was more gossip & "scandle" than any show before. Articles I've read & "idol junkies" I know believe most were "publicity stunts" to boost falling ratings. Maybe the producers saw the Archuleta's as a good "target". Have a great time at the concert. Get lots of autographs! I didn't get 2 see it. Bummer.

Archuleta took this & made it "pretty". This is NOT a pretty song. OR a ballad. Lyrical and musical layers create the song. For me, it works best with LaMontagne's gritty, effortlessly soulful voice. Castro pours passion, emotion & aching angst into the song. He has the innate ability to storytell thus connect-VERY important as an artist. Archuleta's rendition is not powerful nor does it convey the song's message. This is not an attack on DA, it is my opinion on his version.

I realize that it's not "cool" to like DA, which is why he didn't win AI. Men aren't supposed to be moved by the singing of other men, especially one as young and adorable as DA. As for Elvis, he was the best singer in American history. DA's version of Love Me Tender was , imho, a notch about the King's (blasphemy). DA is just starting out. He is , in many ways, naive to the ways of the world, and seems overwhelmed by a lot of what is going on. Give him some time, and you'll see what he can do.

Real passion and real talent. Sorry DA is just a puppet on a string. Jason took this song and made it his own. I think it was great. I wish he had been allowed to sing and perform as himself and AI had not tried to change him into something he's not. Nothing agaist DA he will probably end up in Vegas doing very well. I hope Jason will continue to show us there is a new genre in music and that people like and respond to it.

Wow, David Archuleta's version of "Crazy" puts Barkley's to shame, much less Jason's. I've already downloaded the mp3 so I can hear David sing it repeatedly. Have probably heard it 30 times so far today.

Jason definitely loses the comparison on that song, but I will say that he was a lot better than I expected when I saw him in Tacoma. I drove the 300 miles one way to see David A, but was pleasantly surprised to see how well Brooke (I already liked her), Jason and Cook sounded in person.

1st night was great, this was even better & the 3rd night was awesome. Bring on the 4th tour. Hes kicking some serious butt right now. The more comfortable he gets, the better he sounds. He grew on Idol in front of our eyes (just compare his first Hallelujah to his Finale performance) & continues to do so. His 1st performance on AI, Daydream, compare that to the Ellen show & others, then to the tour. This kid just gets better & better! What a raw, genuine talent. & an awesome personality.
