@Mountaindewmenow The old ones in general really wouldn't. It just so happens that Cthulhu is asleep on our planet. When he wakes up he'll wipe off all the natural life on Earth.

And they are not ALL powerful, just so immensely powerful that our human minds cannot grasp. There may indeed be those greater than the old ones.
