  • Excellent ! Anyone have an idea of where and when this videos was filmed ? I had not seen any of this in comments. Maybe it was released in a dvd ? Thanks for posting it !

    Heartwork rules !

  • One of my favorite songs, what good video!

  • it´s interesting to see how this kind of music, once transcribed to cellos, violins, and other classical instruments, could make a wonderous, potent, amazing classical epical song.

  • @TubeSpoker

and this is why melodic metal will always stay atop my musical preferences...

  • I've made a little attempt at Steer's solo. If you're curious check it out.

  • Brilliant

  • one o my favorite ! thx !

  • Bill Steer owns...

How many guitarists can claim membership in the two most influential grind bands EVER?

  • Pure Epicness..

  • Lucky enough to have seen this live for 4 fucking quid hahahahahaha Bargain of the century!!!!!

  • i see carcass show here in brasil lasted year , They are still FUCKIN BRUTAL !!!!!!!!

  • one of the best CARCASS ever

  • Awesome song. Great performance. Perfect band to play at Bloodstock 09 UK this year.

  • Agreed. Can't fucking wait.

  • I love this song. This is the first time listening to it and I love it

  • The three last albums(necroticism, heartwork and swansong) from carcass are perfect. Listen to them and u will love all others songs too \m/

  • this band used to be good.then....

    THEY STAYED COOL!!

    KEEP ON ROTTING!!

  • CARCASS OWNED BACK IN THE DAY

  • is ammot using a 7 strings guitar because the neck is to fat it may be just me

  • Not Ammot, it's Carlos Regadas

  • or Mike Hickey. He came in between Amott and Regadas. I think Hickey is in th "No love lost" music-vid.

  • how did they crap out with swansong? it's a fucking awesome album. some of the greatest solo's of all time.

  • I FUCKING LOVE THIS SONG

  • cool song. love the intro riff, it's evil ^^

  • This song fuckin' awesome!!!

    I love the riffs.

  • Gay, you couldn't hear Amott's solo.

  • Grindcore isn't just about the lyrics. It's about the style of music they play, they definently started grindcore (as you all know), and ended up pure death metal. Their still great!

  • umm, no.

  • Just because the lyrics aren't about rotting cunts and worm-infested bowels any longer? I don't think so.

  • The lyrics had nothing to do with it. Its just too melodic for my liking.

  • to each their own; maybe being able to hear different notes in the song isn't a plus to you

  • wf r u talking about dude? heartwork us their best fucking album?

  • cual grindcore ni que mierdas no ve que es una chimba es puro death metal del aspero que grind ni que mierda donde ve que toquen mal nunca

  • I wish they had made an actual video for this song it would've been a great. Though in any context this song is excellent.

  • hey sa7sh shut the hell up. first of all yes carcass is one metal band that is going to stay in our hearts but arch enemy is better...at least i think so...BUT...ill repeat this BUT mainly back then the first three albums when johan liiva was in arch enemy....black earth(first arch enemy album) is the best and most brutal album in the history of metal...every song in that album has a huge meaning and story behind it...angela gossow rocks too but no where near johan...

  • Man you need to listen Symphonies of Sickness you'll understand what brutal mean.

  • I guess this person is a newbie to the Death Metal Scene..... Shedana--- WAKE UP AND SMELL THE CARCASS... These guys opened the door for So many Death Metal Artists, its unbelievable... GET A CLUE.....

  • ok listen everyone im not saying carcass is not good. Go read my comment one more time. Carcass is a band that is always gona have great stuff for us metal heads. I am just not agreeing about arch enemy being a sucky band because i love arch enemy. I know its wierd to have angela sing but shes okay i can say. I already told you guys im a johan liiva fan...their first 3 albums were the best...so hey doedoe1 dont say im a newbie cause im not. Im a metal head against rap music just like you. peace

  • Shedana you're so Young, you don't know about metal music ;) Listen Heartwork album or Necroticism.

Black earth is good album, but no the best of the metal history xD.

    you are so funny ::P

  • lol you dont understand that everyone has their own taste. to me black earth is the best album ever...even if i compare it with best bands ever like iron maiden, carcass, sepultura and so on...BLACK EARTH IS THE BEST ALBUM TO ME! maybe not to you! get it through your head you chowder head.

  • Your comments are bloody idiotic, mate.

  • This band is the real deal! Awesome!

  • man carcass should really make a new album.. they got a reunion tour on the go.. but honestly.. arch enemy sucks so much ass now.. enough ass for michael ammot to leave and rejoin carcass.. there so fuckin good.. i miss them

  • yeahhh!!!!CARCASSSSSSSSSS

  • This video has great sound, thx for posting this :)

  • seems like Jeff was constantly criticized of his hairstyle, hahaha

    these guys owns,seriously

  • I wish my hair was long straight, so I can do the helicopter like Jeff Walker! HAHAH

  • it is really pleasant..:D

  • Carcass are one of the most underrated bands I have ever heard. Its a shame how bands like Fall out boy get aload of credit, when they just repeat the same chords over and over and cry down the mic. Then bands like Carcass that have a hell of alot of talent are completely unknown to those who dont know what grindcore / death metal is.

  • Man i agree with you. but you must know that they will do a comeback this summer. Finally people will listen some great and true Death Metal.

  • Carcass started as Grindcore.

    :)

  • @ 0:24 LOL!

  • carcass rules csm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • can't wait to see them at wacken this year <3

  • U lucky SOB!

  • I sure hope someone makes a live DVD of them for Wacken 2008 since I can't be there hahah! But seriously they should. They're the best grindcore band!

  • CARCASS ALIVE AND WELL!!!

  • they'd tuned to C. i don't think any band at that time tuned that low.

  • no dude, they actually tuned to B. It's only 1/2 step lower anyway, so it's not that much of a diference.

  • Black Sabbath tuned to C# 20 years before them. At the Gates also tuned to B. ;)

  • I thought Carcass were in B-flat??

  • They are tuned to B, 6th string is B, 5th-E, 4th-A, 3rd-D, 2nd-G, 1st-B. I'm sure about this coz i used to play their songs before. (im a guitarist btw:)

  • i heard this song in late 93 before it's release the following year. i was laying down to sleep and listening to the radio and they played this song. the feeling i got i've never experienced since. it was magic. i'd never heard distortion like that. it was almost miraculous.

  • I never was a huge huge Carcass fan, but this song shatters.

    Killer grooves and beatdown-breakdowns.

  • This is real fucking music we all need to listen to feel alive!!!, not that fucking punk-hiphop-rap-emo-electronic-no talent shit, fuck that. Death metal rules!!!

  • the sound is great. yeah its very different to a typical studio sound but everything is loud and clear. the distortion is great

  • Bill Steer is God. The fluidity and execution in his playing make life worth living. I have a video where I try to play Steer's solo from this song. Let me know what you think.

  • we all need someone, someone to hate...

    Amazing !!

  • carcass rule!!

  • In a recent guitar magazine they asked current guitar players to name thier most influential album. They guy from Killswitch Engage said Heartwork.

  • adam dutkiewicz said heartwork was his most influential album... pretty kewl, nice to know that even shitty bands came reconize good music.

  • it really sucks that no one recognized their awesomeness when they were together. It is years later that they are finally getting their due.

  • "nice to know that even shitty bands came reconize good music." a-hahahaha Amen, son. Amen.

  • I don't want to get peoples hopes up, but i heard rumors of a tour in the states for "carcass" and "at the gates" after wacken. I can only imagine the chaos that shit is going to bring...

  • they're good in red dwarf :D, and good in general :D

  • 1999 formed arch enemy? you stupid fuck it was on 95 blackearth is the first album with johan liva on vocals and not that stupid bitch that sings now!!!

  • no shit! theyre getting back together? thats fucking awesome!!! my fav metal band ever!!

btw, to fabio the guy on the right is Carlos who was the 2nd replacement guitarist after Mike left straight after Heartwork was released. I cant remember (cause i dont own it anymore it was that bad) if he played on Swansong...i think he might of.

  • you'll all be happy to know that they are getting back together then

  • Source?

  • jeff walker . mike has about two albums of good ' carcass' riffage... i never got to see them live .. so i'm just happy about that

  • the finest band ever to come from liverpool !!!!!!

  • the band didnt come from liverpool bill stear was from the wirral so was kenny, jeff walker was from st helens i know this cozz i know all of them

  • Who is the guitarrist of the right side, differetn guy?

  • Mike left the band, in 1994, so Swansong, their last album was recorded with a different guitarist. In 1999 he formed Arch Enemy.

  • The best band ever.

  • J.wALKER AND BAND NEVER CARED TOO BE A HUGE SUCCESS, IT'S ALL THRU THE LYRICS "FUCK THIS" "ANTI-ALL" AND HOPELESSNESS. i LOVE THIS BAND

  • "In all futility, for self-preservation, we all need someone, someone to hate."

  • Wow they shred this live ! Makes me wanna go to the UK and slug Newcastle beer !

  • in 93' i was bitten by the death metal bug finally. i had heard of carcass before but hadn't got to them yet, and i was laying down to sleep to wake up for school in midwest city high(sophmore), and the radio station played buried dreams of their upcoming HEARTWORK. i was in a coma for a months.

  • it's cuz you cant handle the metal!

  • Heartwork is a pretty good record, but in the end it´s too clean in my opinion. On Necrotism you have many fascinating details, which show just genius understanding of this kind of music. And Symphonies is dirty, how it was meant to be and very funny.

I´m a motherfucking sauerkraut eating german and my english is not that good. Sorry!

  • Slowly we rot without a reunion!

    Let´s exhume to consume.

We want a tour just playing the symphonies and necrotism stuff!

  • you dont like Heartwork? i would love to hear stuff from that album too, if there is a reunion one day.

  • WE WANT A REUNION!!!!!

  • you got your wish,. they've announced reunion and they will be playing at the next year's Wacken fest! hip hip hooray

  • Underrated band. I hate seeing bands like Slipknot achieve the success that these guys deserved.

  • Agreed bro, too bad Carcass disbanded a whiles back. Michael Amott the Lead guitarist plays in Arch Enemy nowadays.

  • I agree. I miss them. Metalsucks . Blogspot . Com

  • one of my favorite carcass song

  • good

  • woah i love them to death

  • AHHHH this brings me back to my high school days but i still bast this baby loud love the start no nu metal comes close

  • tHE mAsTERS !!!. tHEy ArE tHe KiNg !!!.

  • the masters

  • yea

  • the masters

  • The Myth.

  • Truly The Best Song Ever! Next To Inpropagation Incarnated Solvent Abuse,And Cadaveric Incubator Of Endoparasites. PHEW!

  • CARCASS are supreme!

    thanks for add this video!

  • bill steer the best among the rest!

  • Carcass is still a big influence on all heavy music. You can't beat the combonation of deathmetal and pure groove. Carcass and Dime forever!!!

  • Cool, some proper live vids of Carcass from their later era! I think Jeff Walker is such an amazing lyricist and this song is a great example of his talents.

  • it has seemed me flaccid, it is the first carcass live i see, but from the track on the cd i expected more movement, more mosh..

the guitarist also me seemed like a fish out out of water

  • When aspirations are squashed

    When life's chances are lost

    When all hope is gone

    When expectations are quashed

    When self esteem is lost

    When ambition is mourned

    ...All you need is hate.

  • That's not Mike. Is that Carlos or whatever who replaced Mike after?

  • Vocals are muddy as fuck, but the music is pretty much on point. "Bitterness your only wealth, the sands of time kicked in your face" lol Carcass fucking rule.

  • hell yeah...kick ass!

  • Awesome!

  • at least sounds better than "Heartwork" from the same concert.

  • Nice

  • Amazing musicians.

  • If only the sound were clearer.

  • Guys are fucking amazing this has to be my favorite song by them

  • NASTY CHINA!
