I'm buying this car as soon as the turbo hits the market and I can hopefully find one with the options I want. Or i'll just order it. I've owned 2 Mazdas, 2 Hondas, an Audi and a VW in my life. This is the first American car I've ever wanted to look at. And now I'm going to buy my first American vehicle. I looked at the Volvo, BMW (x5 and x3) The Lexus and Acura. When I sat in the SRX, I knew I was sold.
1ST generation looked wacky, but this is badge engineering at its climax, at a time when GM is supposed to be re-writing itself as a reputable manufacturer.... WHY CAN'T PEOPLE SEE IT'S A FUCKING SATURN VUE..... Are we Americans really the dumbest automotive consumers on earth? This is like Cadillac Cimaron all over again..... CTS sport wagon all the way..... The enclave must suck like a DISD test score if the the SRX has to be brought down to this level of boredom......
I am not going to go into describing what this model is either replacing, whether it is a re-do or not. Instead, I am just going to talk on what I like and dislike about this car. You see, with a Cadillac, almost always, you are going to get quality. Like Mr. Dean said, the craftsmanship is great. The thing I do not like about this car is the fact that I think it is way too sleek and crafty on the exterior. They try to make it seem to beautiful, when that isn't the only thing we look for.
wow another HUGE gas guzzling car, yea this will save GM... not. I hope they will use the brain one day and start selling some cars again. GM should be nr 1 again. But not with these big SUV like cars..
Couple of things. Firstly it isn't "another" SUV, its a complete redesign of an SUV that already existed, its taking the place of something already on the market. Second of all its not "HUGE" more than likely it won't be much longer than a Camcord.
Jep its a SUV crossover, and its pretty big. And too expensive for wide audience. not economic and has the aerodynamics of a brick.
meanwhile.. Toyota makes the iq, volkwagen develops the UP. UP does 100km with 2 litres of gas. Sellingprize : below 10k. Those cars will sell like cookies in times like these.
Meanwhile.. GM got his SECOND bailout. Lets see if they understand it what to do this time or just will fail again.
Like I said before genuis, its not that big. And its a Cadillac, its not supposed to be for a wide audience. Cars like the IQ will sell, up to a point, they wont be sales toppers here anytime soon primarily because no one wants to be on the highway in rush hour in something that small.
GM hasn't gotten a second bailout, I don't know who told you that but they lied to you...
The perfect upgrade for our '02 Buick Rendevous. Nice job, GM!!

I actually think the RX is very boring in terms of exterior design compared to this one.
I'm not going to buy either one, but I'd pick this one. I'm tired of the Lexus design language.

You dont have to be a genius to google the dimensions: cadilac 2010 srx :
Overall length (inch / mm): 190.2 / 4833 <- !!
Overall width (inch / mm): 75.1 / 1910
Overall height (inch / mm): 65.6 / 1668
4.83 meters long vehicle!! bigger than BMW X5, escalade is 5.1 meters, so its just 1 foot smaller.
get the facts man !

You don't have to be a genius to google other car dimensions either.
2009 Camry length (in): 189.2
2009 Camry width (in): 71.7
2009 Camry height (in): 57.5
2009 Accord length (in): 190.9
2009 Accord width (in): 72.8
2009 Accord height (in): 56.4
So, it's shorter than an Accord but longer than a camry (barely). Naturally it's taller as it's an SUV. And is less than 3.5 inches wider than both.
Man, what a huge SUV.
Oh, by the way, a 2008 X5 is 191.1 inches long.

Right. If you still think a car almost 5 meter long is not that big than you are the only one.
But you are still not getting the point.
The US auto industry is a dinosaur that has done nothing to improve their situation for 30 years.
They really should innovate and not so much interested in putting soccer moms in monster trucks.
