  • I'll probly buy it if it's priced reasonably! :) will have to get postage as well :(

  • wow, just like playing in the arcade, well done!!!!

  • This Pac- Man at his greediest and most duplitious.

  • Sure wish this game was real. It looks awesome.

  • :O

  • I can't believe I didn't know about this game! This is like the perfect sequel to the classic Pac-Man! Just like Pac-Man C.E was a great revival of the classic, and Pac-Man C.E DX was an even better revival!

  • One person likes Playstation only.

  • was all the music off key as well? Just wondering. Never played this before.

  • this is on namco museum for playstation! :D

  • 1:14 spawnkill!!

  • where can i get this

  • I heard there was a cart that someone made of pac-man 2600 arcade. I would like the rom of that. Too bad I can't find it!

  • Youtube is the perfect place to showcase the homebrew video game scene. In a perfect world, Atari Interactive would be teaming up with homebrewers to release these titles on Virtual Console and encourage the indie scene. Until then, I'll be on the prowl for a used Atari 7800 somewhere, so I can collect the cartridges. Great work on the games, and thanks for uploading!

  • I used to kill many quarters on this game at the arcade. This was very fun to watch! Thanks for posting.

  • LOL

  • The really stunning thing about this port is how spot-on the sound effects are, considering the old TIA sound chip the 7800 has to work with.

  • Awesome conversion.

And I guess Pac-Man finally got tired of eating pellets, so he's going straight after the fruit xD

  • Thank you for showing us the game. It brings us so much joy!

  • Hey, can anyone tell me where to download or play online for free. I found some other games but i can't find this lol.

  • Those ghosts sounded like police sirens!

  • this game is great.i just got a copy of it for my 7800 in the mail today.

  • Yiou can download the actual arcade rom and play it with the MAME emulator.

  • This is a surprisingly good version as far as ported games go..my hats go off to it...however, the version on the plug n play handheld Pac Man collection is exactly identical to the arcade game in every way..and it's only $20.

  • Why didn't they make this for nes?

  • I moved to Las Vegas just before this game got released, and once I discovered it in the arcade of Circus Circus I made NIGHTLY trips there to play this game, and play it, and play it....

I got to the point where I could reliably get to about level 25 each time, and was striving for level 30. This game got ridiculously hard, but it was cool about it. It eased you in pretty slowly, and there were even patterns you could use for each few levels. LOVE THIS!!

  • I play this game arcade style. One question, is the feature that pacman can go into the gohst's pen a bug or just something namco put into the game.

  • Excellent vid! I'm subscribing!

  • This is my personal favorite of any Pac-Man game. AdigunPolack, I salute you!

  • Hey, I know Ms. Pac Man was commercially released for the 7800. But was there ever a commercially released Pac Man for 7800?? I didn't grow up with 7800 so I don't know.

  • i have this one on my phone, buying it hoping for the original -,-

  • awesome game but the sounds drive me crazy -.-

  • you are good

  • lol i find it weird wen pacman was giant that the ghost looked wide moving sideways and thin moving up and down. good game though

  • Hey Bob. Great to see one of your productions get some YouTube Footage. It works incredibly well, despite using only the TIA for music and sound effects.

And thank you again for making Pac-Man Collection for the system. I will not be giving up this cartridge.

  • 4:05 omg so close

  • Yeah I want this cart.

  • WOW! What a remarkable port!! I'll have to order this off the Atari Age soon. This is truly arcade perfect. The screen pausing, the way pac-man foldes when he loses, the speed..everything. Superb job on this port.

  • How'd you get this port before it was released?

  • can't hardly wait for it to come out!!!!

  • Awesome.

  • That was awesome! You're a good player!

  • why is inky green?

  • I am so buying this when it comes out!!! This game is loud!!

  • Wow... It's really working...

Perhaps somebody launch a Famicom/Nes conversion of this game, using Namcot Profile.

  • i loved this game. i used to play it in a grocery store (Kroger) when i was a kid.

  • BTW, Thank you for the kind comments on my work, and thanks to AdigunPolack for making the video and posting it. :)

  • Hey, it is without a doubt a grand pleasure indeed, and EXCELLENT to meet you as well, PacManPlusAtari!!! ^-^=b !!

And, since you originally are the guy known as "PacManPlus" to start with, I gotta personally congratulate you big-time on such a phenomenal arcade translation of Super Pac-Man on the Atari 7800... it rather definitely deserves a place as one on the sheer best new games on that classic game system that should *never* be missed whatsoever. PERIOD.

    Fantastic job!!!! (^-^)v !!

  • Thank you - you are very kind :)

  • And you are without a doubt *quite* welcome,

PacManPlusAtari my man... so excellent to have you!!! ;)

  • @PacManPlusAtari

Best damn look for it on Atari 7800!!

BTW, Are you PacManPlus at the forums because I'm Pacfan97 there.

  • @PacManPlusAtari VERY impressive! GREAT conversion!

  • the game seems to momentarily pause sometimes - is that normal? or is it a bug they're working out?

  • If you are referring to when the monsters just stop and the player keeps going, then that is part of the actual game. If the entire video pauses, it just might be the video player buffering. :)

  • Its like in the arcade

  • @guyvf The pauses from the ghosts are par of the game (changing pattern moves for the ghosts). It's the same exact way on the arcade version

  • Comment removed

  • Hopefully soon :) within a month I would say.

    Thanks!

BTW, I am the author of the port of this game on the 7800.

  • This is a great old game. Someone did a great job on this translation. There's a version of this game on the GBC Ms. Pac Man 'Special Color Edition' cartridge that's pretty great also, just a bit hard to control with a D-pad. Thanks for uploading the video. I enjoyed seeing this version.

  • Hey, you are *absolutely* quite welcome, mikeferr107... and I am really damn glad I have uploaded this video, because the all-new Atari 7800 version of Super Pac-Man is clearly one of the best versions of the Namco 1982 arcade classic ever created on such an ancient yet so very precious game console indeed, let me just tell you right now!!! (^-^)v !

Excellent comment indeed on this video, and I thank you especially for that!! ;)

  • I wish this was really out for the Atari 7800.

Super PacMan is the best in the series.

  • ... It will be soon ;)

  • That person did an incredible job translating this on 7800 hardware. Looks almost like the arcade version!

  • Yes it quite as hell is, SAGAIA2... I thought that person of "PacManPlus" did rather a truly fantastic job indeed in successfully handling the whole translation of Super Pac-Man and also in most brilliantly nailing it on the Atari 7800, despite the game system's limitations!! ;)

And, what is TREMENDOUSLY so amazing is that it comes as flat-out damn close to the 1982 arcade original of this game as ever... how huge is that!? ^-^=b !

Sure beats the Atari 400/800/5200 versions indeed!!!
