wow really thats how i used to normally play now i play from 30 to 60 fps but b4 it was normal to play with 4 fps online with 800 ping but i was really good with getting my klillz lol

TF2 IS NOT a demanding game. If you're a PC gamer, there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to run at native resolution with model quality at high. Or at least, most settings on mid. it is SERIOUSLY not a demanding game.

@ajk252 did you tried the antivirus thing? there were a few vids on how that can cause tf2 to lagg also did you try to defragment cache files? just open steam the click on library then right click tf2 then properties then you should see 5 tabs "GENERAL", "UPDATES" LOCAL FILES" and so on click on local files then click on DEFRAGMENT CACHE Files and let it do its thing then try tf2 again or run it at it lowest settings

If you really get this horrible fps, i recommend you to set the dxlevel to 80. If you alredy have done that, you might want to use this config that you copy and paste into the autoexec.cfg file (It can be located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\[Your account name]\team fortress 2\tf\cfg): fakkelbrigade(dot)eu/chris/con­figs/cfg/maxframes(dot)htm. Read it correctly so you delete the things you don't need/want.

I suggest the ATI 4770

Not only will it run TF2 on literally the highest possible settings and resolution but it can just about hack it with Crysis on max settings (if limited to 720p resolution which is good enough for consoles).

And they only cost about £70 or $100.

Incorrect; TF2 will run perfect on an 8600GT. TF2 is CPU-bound, not GPU-bound. You need a nice CPU and a generic GPU to run it. :P

Thanks for the info, now you mention it my old PC struggled with TF2 on a 8800GTS 320MB and 3.2Ghz single core, though I though never diagnosed the bottleneck.

So what is the CPU you need? Dual core? 2.0GHz?

Would an "AMD Athlon™ II X2 215 Dual Core" do the trick?

I ask because Mesh is offering a really cheap PC (£399) with this CPU.
