how i achieved remission ...the first time it started was when i was 19..the doc gave me asacol and i jus cudnt believe i wud have to take this expensive drug that didnt even work so i stopped takin that after few days and did research on colitis and realized it had to alot with stress so i jus prayed and went on a pomengrante cabbage bannana celery green leafy vegtable juice diet and took grape seed extract and fish oil and a few hits of marjuana a day which led to remission within months

Hi.The tablets were strong,I agree with you,good bacteria being killed off. Ulcerated is real nasty,I feel for you.Think if Colitis is left undiagnosed turns from Infected-ulcers?I was lucky even tho I was left in pain for 3 months while the doc said I had irritable bowl?I'm totally cleared.Very kind of you to asking!Have a hiatus hernia now.Scan done 3 months ago,something I have to live with.Then had a "rumbling appendicitis"put me on anti-biotics cleared it 2 weeks ago. That did the trick!

Hey.
I got infected colitus through comparlebactor food poisoning from a rotten chinese meal and that was 9 years ago. NEVER had any "flare-ups" after that than my dentist gave me some STRONG anti biotics for a pulled wisdom tooth now its back? So whats going on?

@turdbandit hello, Its been one year since this post so I hope its cleared up. I have Ulcerative colitis as well and antibiotics can kill many beneficial bacteria in the intestine and as a result you can get diarrhea, the lack of stability from this in your intestines may have triggered the colitis back again, when taking antibiotics try to take bacidofilis regimins which replenish good bacteria in the intestines.
