Nothing new here F1 cars back in the 80's had 1.6 liter turbo engines that made over 1,00hp and some up to 1,200hp for qualifing.

@SVTMC Yeah but F1 teams are light years ahead of many others, this video is kinda old but not as old as the 80's. Yeah you can make engine's that small make that much HP. As silverblackss said 1500CC with 6 bar. Basically it's nothing but a turbo connected to a engine. Kinda like people that like so much sugar in there coffee. Some people say would you like some coffee with your sugar. Same principle. I'm more impressed by today's F1 engine's then any 1.6L making 1500BHP due to a huge turbo.

Making that much HP was still an acomplishment by itself regardless. They had to master rocket fuel with the help of an armada of chemists. Remember it was also the chilhood of computerized fuel management systems and digital igntion. But the biggest chalenge back then was probably to keep the engine from grenading at those insane hp figues.

@turbinetechca Power is a function of the torque and revs. F1 engines used to go over 20k rpm, they are now limited to 18k. Road cars go up to about 6 to 7k rpm. If two engines have the same horsepower, but one of them has three times the revs, do the math on the torque number. And for an F1 engine it's nowhere near 600 footpounds (a bit over 800 Nm). Half of that is more realistic.

I think you miss understood me here a little. I wasnt saying this engine was running at 6 bar, I was stating another engine that was running 6 bars that was making over 1000BHP out of a 1500cc F1 engine. Ford isnt in the F1 game as I know of. this is still an absolutely insane engine. Just stating I'm more inpressed out of a N/A motor making the same hp as a Turbo motor. But to say that F1 engine dont have torque is not something I'd say. I bet there still in excess of 600 foot pound of torque

For starters, the RB26 exhaust manifold is on the opposite side of the engine. Secondly, the Falcon XR6 Turbo has a straight-six just like this one... which, by the way, looks nothing like an RB26. The valve cover isn't even remotely similar.
