@feewert42 Nope. No Pro Tools. I use the old Mbox 2 as a second MIDI interface for one of my Moog keyboards since it's been setup in my audio/midi setup in OSX for so long. I use Ableton Live 8 exclusively with a Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 audio interface..

hey , thanks for the videos. i don't know what to chose between a MOTIF XS 8 and a FANTOM G8. Im mostly interested in progressive electronica/psycodelic music, something like deadmau5,. i plan to base my prod in software but anyway i want a great piano with inspiring sounds and features.. i like the vocoder on the motif but on the other hand the screen and the overall appereance of the fantom is really attractive, plus it has this kind of drum machine pad.. what do u think?. cheers!

yeah just let him play the same thing, but with a generic piano sound... it will sound naff.... these synth players only sound good becuase of all the effects and shit and reverb and its just.... wheres the real music man...... i have a fantom g7 btw

I Disagree, a piano sound would probably sound fine for a piano song.

And the effects used are irrelevant if it gets across the desired impression, it wouldn't make sense to not use reverb on a cello sound simply on the premise that it doesn't represent the true instrument.

it's a standard sound with some tweaking on the fx chain. not much though. the amp models really sound good on the G.

It's the 451 Searing Cosm 2 patch with the solo-mono mode turned to Poly. I'm also using Ableton Live 7' Midi Effect Chord feature to add a slight lower 4th. Also tweaked out the effects on the patch. Mainly the ratio of reverb and a big chunk of Delay.
