Nobody else seems to realise the fact that the ghost escudo was a pretty piss-poor lap, and the supra (designed for circuit racing) was able to exit corners better with it's FR layout being better designed for it, and the set-up of the escudo was probably still soft for dirt.

Gran Turismo 2 is my favorite driving game ever, but it's ridiculous. The GT games all made the Escudo look like some kind of monster (which it is, but not like in the game) that can dominate everything. If the Escudo really does 280+mph and is that fast, why did a 1400hp Supra hold the standing mile record until March 2010 when a gutted 1800hp Ford GT finally beat it by a heartbeat? Where's that Escudo's mega speed now? It's a sick car, but not what Gran Turismo makes it look like.

@Darkman2023 how does that make sense? The Escudo has roughly 1000 awhp. The Supra has roughly 700 rwhp. The Escudo has more power to the wheels. You don't divide horsepower by the number of drive wheels... By the way, turbo lag means nothing in this case. In the game, the Escudo is ungodly fast. In real life, the Escudo has sequential twin-turbos on it, producing little to no boost lag at all, while the record-holding Supras have huge single turbos with massive lag.

@kevinsupra90 the only car I thought has a huggge turbo lag was the option stream Z in GT4 (never gotten to it in GT5 yet) It had almost no Hp at the first few seconds and then once it revs up it has insane amounts of HP which made the car really hard to start up fast.

@to500mo In Gran Turismo, turbo lag is something they never really accounted for until GT4 or GT5. So in the game, you may be right about that Z being one of the only cars with massive lag. I was just saying that in real life, the fast Supras probably have some of the worst turbo lag of any cars out there. Stock MKIV Supras have two small sequential twin turbos so there's very little lag, but once you go to a big single, that little 3-liter has a hard time spinning them up for a bit.

Not sure what version of GT this is, but i have a 97' RZ in GT4 that has a top speed of 456km/h. Only way to beat that in the Escudo is by using the "fly" cheat.

To OP:

The Escudo is a rally car. It is pretty good on tracks, if you set it properly up as a RALLY car, not a touring car. Its really useless on longer tracks that way though as you burn through the tires in 2-4laps :) Pretty nice driving though :)

OMG, i got GT4 and the Escudo ... when u tune it full it got like 1100hp or something like that .. and yes, this car is a dirt car. Try use it on Special Conditions. Its good . O if u got Mitshubishi Starion and tune it up u wont get Dissapointed, try it out.
