The last time I heard this song I was a kid of about 9 or 10 years old. That was in the early 1980s. We used to listen to a lot of contemporary Christian music, so I grew up listening to Dan Peek, early Petra, Don Francisco, Phil Driscoll, Sweet Comfort Band, The Imperials, Russ Taff...man, brings back memories of childhood.

I used to play this song faithfully at the end of my radio show. I haven't heard it in years, but had to look it up when I heard of Dan's passing. What a great man and wonderful talent. He will be missed.

They continue to perform live and I personally have seen them every year since 1975 (and Peek left in '77)! They just released yet another album two days after Peek's passing. Why? Because America's fans keep demanding-and buying-new music from Dewey Bunnell & Gerry Beckley. Peek was not America by himself anymore than either Beckley or Bunnell is...

In fact, he was always my favourite songwriter of the three, though all of them wrote lovely songs. You always get people who make statements like Snookiebutt's. Simply beautiful! Even though he left the band, he will always be a part of it. I have a cd with their biggest hits, in the liner notes he is still mentioned as one of the members, not anyone who came afterwards.
