  • Solved the problem for me! Now my Firebird is singing like it should! :)

  • fuckin G string always a problem

  • those naughty G-strings get me every time

  • Some really good tips

  • Those damn G strings are always the problem string. Pops out of tune so easily. Especially on my SG, not as bad on the Les Paul.

  • @321harold exactly!!!!! no matter what it never, ever stays in tune.

  • Tailpiece is awfully low. Should be raised some or your strings will bind on the saddle.

  • you should also put a C clamp on each saddle screw ... that wire only stops them from falling off but adds no stability ... if you add the clamps they will create more traction between the screw-head, clamp, and base of the bridge preventing the saddles from moving over-time ... my sg's intonation goes out all the time because of the lack of stability ... also with these the wire wont buzz

  • HY PEOPLE, LOOK THIS , Tribute to the 96th anniversary of les paul, bach digital in Google ferrament: /watch?v=PfO8dl9W-ZM.

Click in my chanel and lokk this, tribute to the 96th aniversary of les paul.

  • YES THIS IS VERY TRUE YOU CAN FLIP IF U RUN OUT OF ROOM AND IT WILL CREATE NO PROBLEMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I always find when I adjust my G string it disappears up my crack.......I know I'm immature & should know better.

Not a good idea to do this kind of adjustment to your Axe kids, unless your completely sure what you're doing.

  • Played a Les Paul for a long time, and I NEVER had to flip a saddle... I have no clue why this is on expert village...

  • @SuburbanMenace because believe it or not. other people get intonation problems...

  • never trust a dude sitting on a lazy boy setting up a les paul. ha ha sorry but i cant understand why expert village would post this video. where is the work bench? is this guy even a guitar tech? i doubt he has ever done any real guitar repairs ie: repairing a set neck, routing out neck pockets, routing out pickups, refinish paint, electronic setup / solder, tone controls and frequencies, i could go on. this guy is a couch potato with a screwdriver submitting disinformation.

  • @Binglung dude its intonation, not fucking rocket science

  • @Binglung ...or maybe he's a screwdriver with a couch potato!

  • if you bring the bridge up or down that will also help your intonation a bit without having to flip the saddles. look at the beveled edge of the saddle. it is directional. if you flip it, it puts the string tension on the sharp edges. depending on how well you shred your guitar the strings will break at the saddle that is flipped the wrong direction. what do i know? i wouldnt be listed on bcrichdot com as an authorized repair shop for bc rich, if i didnt know better.

  • no dude. bring the saddle up a little higher and retune it. something is not right with the way you are setting it up if you have to flip those saddles. if you look at your bridge it should look like "stairs" starting on the first lowest step being the low e string then gradually going up one step at a time. the g string will be the second set of stairs, so to speak starting lower than the d string saddle. i can get intonation real close just by eyeballing the saddle set up.

  • Experts? the only reason your haveing to flip a saddle is because your guitar is FUCKED!

  • some guy said blackmachine guitars are better than gibson

    are they?

  • @TheFounderOfNothing Depends on what u r looking for in a guitar.

  • thumbs up if you chuckled when he said G string.

  • How do I ignore all this crap from expertvillage? Can't even search straight on youtube without ending up with this crap.

It's either youtube that is crappy or this BS. :(

  • expert village is shit

  • wtf....

  • Did my little foot go up your ass Gieco? Yes, yes it did

  • @xtremeplayer145 And why the hell are you happy?

  • Anything on expertvillage usually sucks or is extremely dangerous to do. What he shows above usually snaps a string... What a RETARD loosen the strings first next time, moron.

  • he's a complete retard, just drop the guitar tuning realy low ( not too low so that string doesn't fall out of the tuner mechanism thing) and the string will become halfway lose,

  • be VERY careful when your doing it....lol

  • ho..

  • what about the Nashville model ?

  • Ok what's with the text? You think a deaf person would be interested in tuning a guitar?

  • @ismayl222 Beethoven was deaf.

  • lol g-string

  • 0:01 Skip ad

  • 138786 VIDEOS?DUDE YOUVE GOTTA BE FUCKING KIDDING!!!!!!

  • @gtamodman122 No need for anyone to make a guitar repair video.

  • @shckltnebay uhh i think you posted the reply to the wrong person i didnt mention anything about guitar repairing

  • I wish he would move the stupid text

  • How high should the gibson tune-o-matic bridge be? i've adjusted my action but theres still alot of buzzing and i dont like my action being too hig...what should i do?

  • I need some help with this. I have a Les Paul Studio. and the bridge is a bit different. Instead of the screws being in front and on top of the saddles, it is behind it and under the strings. How am I able to intonate it like that?

  • i just bought an epiphone les paul about 1 week ago,but after a fews days using it. the fret buzzing just get on my guitar. it very frustated..i try to adjust the trus rod but the thing getting worse.what should i do man??

  • @andieyrock maybe you need to lime the frets because some are unequal...in the meantime, just try using smaller strings

  • Les Paul was a true god. With out him, there would be no jazz, no blues, no good ol rock and roll! We thank u for what u did and may ur guitars rock on forever!!! O, one more thing, can you plzzz make ur guitars like $4000 cheaper??

  • wow a problem with our G STRING

  • @xtremeplayer145 why are you happy that he died?

  • Yes, inventor died but guitar will live and be #1 for ever

  • @MrHeavysteel True...... The Stratocasters not going anywhere!!!

  • Easy on LP. If you loosen the strings really slack you can just unhook the tailpiece instead of screwing with individual strings.

  • Thanks.Will try.

  • ive always had a dream of getting a glossy black gibson lespaul with emg 81 85s all gold hardware and somewhat scalloped frets near the end probaly just one or two

  • I'm surprised he doesn't mention whether he is working on an ABR-1 or a Nashville Tune-o-matic. For some reason he is working on an ABR-1 and the majority of late model Gibsons have the Nashville, which is more difficult to flip. You must remove the individual retainers from the bottom and they are a pain to get back in right! I am not trying to open a debate about which bridge is better. Please don't start that here...

  • Anyone have a solution? I have an SG with a bridge like the one on the Les Paul in this video. When playing acoustically, I get an annoying rattle/buzz at the bridge. I think it's being cause by the retainer wire that you see this guy prying out in the video. Any suggestions?

  • my LP has a nashville bridge (based on looking up what kind of bride the Les Paul traditional has) and there is no "saddle retainer" as far as I can tell, how do i flip my saddle?

  • how can you have a signature signature guitar?

  • not really.. if you play a strat are you playing a signature? if you playing a tele are you playing a signature? if you play a jazzmaster or sg or explorer are you playing a signature guitar? he helped design it at the time he played a molested epiphone he called the log get your shits traight man if your playing a slash signature les paul then your playing a signature if not then your just playing a les paul.. a guitar that les paul helped design and was named after him

  • your right on the SG part. thats not considered a Les Paul Signature cause he hated the shape and disowned the model. now its Angus' signature model

  • I agree with Les - SG's look FUGLY! If it wasnt Angus's guitar no-one would use them1

  • tony iommoi uses one the only reason i want one is because of frank zappa but his body on his sg was a bit thicker

  • i have an epi it not the same quality but its still good

  • Epi' does not put the same quality into the Gibson Type guitars made by them as they do the original epi' line of guitars that are still made. One interesting thing is that Les Paul was making and designing his first guitars at the Epi' guitar factory at night. He was allowed to use their place and equipment. At this time he was trying to sell Gibson on his new Solid Body Guitar..

  • Les paul isn't dead

Fender is diing the quality of sound isn't nothing!

    Les paul rules .\.

  • He meant that the actual person, Les Paul died, not the guitar brand.

  • @jgonza29 Guitar brand will never die, sometimes soon now will be 2 years since death of les paul.

  • @jgonza29 Morons are everywhere. xD Dont mind them

  • @jgonza29 I am not aware of the brand Les Paul....its a model of a guitar made by gibson

  • les paul did die check out the gibson website

  • dude should you first know what the fuck your talking about, do you even know who was Les Paul? Try to get some culture before making dumb replys....

  • he meant the person

  • i have that same guitar but i moded it so much u cant even tell

  • Thanks for the info.

  • lol g string

  • +9000. XD

  • Always broke strings (at least one a night) on those damn saddles until I switched to a brass Bad-Ass with rounded brass saddles. I've never broken a string since. Wish I could find another as mine (now 32 years old) has worn down just from my hand rubbing it.

  • its called "set in" neck

  • whats the difference between a epiphone les pual 100 and a epiphone les paul standerd? can u help me out?

  • The 100 has Pearl inlays (The Circle ones) and the Standard has Trapazoid inlays. The pickups on the Les Paul 100 do not come with the humbucker covers, but the Les Paul Standard. does. Both guitars come in different finishes. I play a 1984 Les Paul Standard in Honeyburst

  • uh, i canged my strings to a lower gauge and now they make a weird sound, i don't think its the bridge, does anybody know how to fix that?

  • is it buzzing? or what kind of sound do you mean

  • no, it's not buzzing... it's kinda hard to explain, it sounds kind of hollow. idk i think i just need to break them in.

  • i had that problem wit my guitar too

  • What kind of guitar? Lighter guage strings naturally don't sound as thick as the heavier strings. You may just have to get used to the sound of lighter strings. I used to use .9's on my guitar, and switched to .10's a few years ago. There is a major difference in sound between the two guages.

  • it's an Epiphone Les Paul, and my strings are fine now, i think it just the way i put on the strings...

  • It's just a different sound I tried using an 8 as my high E, but didn't like the sound so I switched back to a 9, it takes some getting used to

  • yah, im using 10-46 right now. but it was actualy just my bridge. i raised it, and it sounded fine.

  • Comment removed

  • please! i need help! i bought a gibson les paul traditional pro 3 weeks ago, i change strings almost 2 weeks ago and the guitar does not stay tune. the guitar came with Locking Grover tuners. what can i do?

  • did you turn the screws underneath the right way to lock in the string? other than that take it back, it will have a warranty, dont pay to do it , it should have a warranty cos the tuners may have to change

  • any locking tuner sucks!!! TRUST ME I BOUGHT A SG ALWAYSASTAYED IN TUNE, SOLD IT TO A BUDDY WHO PUT ON LOCKING TUNERS AND IT WAS ALL FUCKED UP! MY ADVIVE TO ANY ONE DO NOT GET THEM!

  • i can here you ok lol

  • Pretty sure that's a Les Paul Classic. They came stock with open coil Alnico's.

  • those aren't the kind of humbuckers that are on most les pauls... right? because im not completly sure

  • Gibson Les Pauls would most have those P-90 or in Slash's model Seymour duncan, similar looking...or some other custom looking. Epiphone Les Pauls have different pickups.

  • I love gold tops. They look vintage. The bullion gold is really nice.

  • Yes! i have a bullion gold dark back!! i stare at it longer that play it :)

  • Gibson #1.

  • do you have to do that to intonate the strings?

  • only if you run out of room...

  • And another thing I love GNR but at least AC/DC are still together. GNR needs to put all that personal bullshit aside and get back together.

  • No moron I menat the original line up. Jesus!!!!!! Your dumb.

  • well if your taking that into consideration AC/DC are not still together since Bon Scott isn't with them....it wont ever be the same w/o him

    R.I.P Bon

  • I agree that they will never be the same without Bon and there are songs that they wont even play because they were Bon's. But not alot of other bands have did what AC/DC has done.

  • True, but i never really liked the new singer...cant remember his name but w/e.

  • that;s not really guns n' roses..

  • except the only original member is Axl, and he's pretty much the reason they broke up (according to Slash)

  • i know

  • actually is just a goltop cos slash's model came ouut after summer, when i got my lp in march 08 this vid was already posted

  • kk, kewl

  • Thanks for your nice work!

By the way, melodyboys com*cn can help you get this wonderful guitar at a rather low price. Have a try!

  • ok the classic is NOT being discontinued, its still on the standard is being replaced with the new standard and the traditional is the same as an old standard but new.

  • ok, first of all i work for guitar center, i work directly with representatives from gibson, and YES they are going to discontinue the classic model, second the traditional is NOTHING like the old standards, the traditional is NOT chambered, the standard is, the traditional has classic 57 pickups, all standards have burstbucker pro's, the traditional has a 50's profile neck which they are not doing on the standards anymore, the switched to the asymetrical profile, so in short, you're so wrong

  • umm ACTUALLY the traditional if you look at the stats is exactly the same as pre 07 standards...and considering i OWN several pre 07 standards you'd think maybe i would know..the 08 standard is all new with the new neck profile...but for people with a more "TRADITIONAL" preference for the standard they made the traditional...and no not ALL standards come with burst buckers... I'll make a video to show you exactly that...if you're so stubborn.

  • hiii i have a question

well i have a epiphone dot

and im tthinking about to change the bridge and

tailpieeve because the stock ones pill of the chrome with time

    and i had a question

should i put gibson on both parts

or can i use another brand

does the brand affect my tone

    because gibson are kinda expensivee

soo i wanted some suggestionss pleasee

  • I would say that for the most part as lo ng as the style (tune-o-matic & stopbar) is the same. i have a friend who lost his original gibson parts, and replaced them with the generic version and it works just fine. =]

  • I just bought an Epi LP Deluxe second hand, and it had three flipped saddles. I wondered why. Now, I know. Thanks.

  • Does anyone have an opinion on removing the covers from Les Paul humbuckers? How is tone affected?

  • Wow, this is an old comment.

I usually don't respond to these because I'm worried the poster doesn't remember what they asked or they no longer care.

I regards to removing humbucker covers:

They say that it makes the pickups hotter and gives them a more aggressive sound. I have an LP with uncovered and one with covered, but they're not the same type of pickups and they aren't really comparable. Some say it changes the tone but I can't say so positively from experience.

  • Also, make sure that removing the covers is something you really want to do, especially on newer LPs, because I've heard that they have wax on the coils but I'm not sure why (if anyone out there know could you jump in?). Anyway, scraping the wax off is a pretty permant step unless you go to a luthier.

    Good luck.

  • Thanks alot

    =o)

  • Step 5! Didn't need to do this either. Looks like it wouldn't have been too tough if I would have had to do it. I'm not sure I'd have figured it out if I had needed it without this vid. Maybe...
