Honda should really consider revising the Prelude. They're doing pretty well financially. When they finished making sports cars they left the S2000 and NSX on good notes with their RWD drive trains and powerful engines. But the poor Prelude was forgotten. It used a FWD platform (Anyone will say it looks RWD), rather weak engine (just 200 HP and even less torque), and for the Prelude's weight it could have used an extra two cylinders. I wish Honda considered bringing it back.
@elr456 if it was brought back it'd probly be hybrid, electric, or off a fit type power plant. Would you really want to a reduced version of the prelude?

My friend has a 3g prelude. I love that car. Looking at what it was for it's time. It's a pretty hardcore car. I mean the new Scion T.C. has a 2.0l engine that's pushing 180hp. The b20 was pushing 140hp 20 years ago. Quite impressive.
I had an 89 Prelude, red with old school prime hammer five star wheels. Not too fast but clean with the bumps in the trunk. Miss that car, hope to get another someday.
Thats a great vid, had a jdm 4th gen engine in a 91 accord. Great little car, went 275,000 miles. The body had over 350,000 miles. We ran it till the wheels fell off. Ive never seen any other car like it.

Easy to pick downward on a 4 cylinder Prelude (50% less cylinders) but you cant even pick upward like a McLaren F1, Ferrari 458 (v10 or V12) let alone a Veyron (W16 same also 50% difference).
As I said the Preludes have performance and can stick closer to a Cobra than a Cobra to a McLaren or Veyron.

I was thinking, stage 1, Jet ECU, Plasma Booster, good spark plugs, air intake, and Flowmaster 66 exhaust to start it out.

Your 5.0ltr is not so fast when compared with real sports or fast cars (which even has comparable displacements).
Easy to pick downward on a 4 cylinder Prelude (50% less cylinders) but you cant even pick upward like a McLaren F1, Ferrari 458 (v10 or V12) let alone a Veyron (W16 same also 50% difference).
As I said the Preludes have performance and can stick closer to a Cobra than a Cobra to a McLaren or Veyron.
Prelude is a much better performer.

(with the exeption of the nsx and s2000) if they dont have any performance upgrades and theyre modified , theyre rice. if they have performance upgrades, there is no point because of the points i made in the other comments. so yes, its ok to say anyone who drives a modded honda prelude is an idiot because there is no point to a modded prelude.(see earlier points.)

Preludes are the better car. If you cant make a claim over any super car in terms of performance (which the prelude does) then you obviously are the one thats wrong
Personally i dont like to race and dont think highly of people that do (regardless of the car make or model). It is blatantly playing with peoples lives, your own and the lives of others to for racing in public roads. A sports car can be any car that is intended for spirited driving in its category. You can have a sub 2.0 ltr sports car, sub 3.0ltr sports car etc etc. hence why they have different classes of "SPORTS CARS".

They are sports cars in THEIR class. Honda can and has made V10 and V12.
If Honda wanted Preludes to be more economical than what it is they would have called it a Civic or Jazz etc.
Stop putting into your head a Prelude has to be a Sports car that can mix it with V8's or Economy cars that can mix it with Hybrids. Preludes are what they are, conventional cars and a sports car in their class.
