With my magic I can make it rain lightning, hurl rocks at you, set you on fire, freeze you solid then shatter you into a million peices. Then, by some stroke of luck if you do manage to get close to me and mortally wound me with your sword I can heal myself, comepletly free of injury and back at full strength while you are still weak. What is all your steel compared to that?

They got rid of the arcane warrior specialization which sucks. I can understand why and love the fact that the mages regular attacks aren't just poking the air and a little magic bolt comes out plus they can start using the staff at close combat now unlike origins and awakening. But he mages lose most close combat capabilities when they got rid of arcane warrior and battle Mage. It's basically required to stand back and start blasting when fighting a mob. But I think it's more fun and looks coo

problem with DA2, choosing a class was all about how you wanted your combat to be like. Theres hardly any roleplaying in the game anymore so i just played the warrior, it felt right for the game style which was basically a get into fight go to area get into fight type thing. Plus i could be a bit less bias towards the whole Templars vs Mages debate.

mage vs warrior ? lol it's damn easy....whatever specialisation a mage takes , a warrior has to simply became a templar. If the mage doesn't kill the warrior in the first seconds of the game with something like the spell that trailer hawke used against the arishok ( yeah right ), well he'll simply get silenced and pummeled to death by a templar. For all those mage fanboys there....there is no way a well made warrior will lose against a well made mage.

@RYARH oh rly ? 50% magic resistace as pasive it's damn mean.... add the mage's friend shield with 17% magic reistance ( might be other better , but this was the best magic resistance shield i found ingame ) and considering everyone will have 1 rune of valiance ( so another 7% ) you have a mean 74% magic reistance. Add some magic reistance pendants and some rings , and you might as well get near 80% or 80+. If just for fun you put some stats into magic you can get 100%. And that without skills.

Play as the Force 'Mage' Mage, the warrior is amazingly fucked.

With a warrior, the priority should be an efficient mixt of tanking and dpsing. Once you have that balance just right, theres not a damn thing that any other class can do to you. They're too fragile not to be knocked around by the two hander attacks, and cant move quickly enough to chip through your health by the time your up in their face. Pick reaver, and they'll wish they hadnt hurt you at all.

Not everyone in black ops can pull off rushing the enemy team but the warriors do. I like to refer back to the Arishok 1 vs 1 battle. Originally I thought mano y mano would rock so I went warrior. I gotta say I spent most the time running away waiting for cooldowns. BUT AS MAGE!!!! STUN!!! ZAP!!! POW!!! BAM!!! DOG!!!! So ya mage is easily the best. It also makes for a good story if you side with mages at the end, I felt like Hawke became a revolutionary leader for the mages along side Anders. Only downside to being a mage is Bethany dies. Breaks my heart everytime ;(

damage wise the mages have the hardest hitting base damage even with the staff of parthalan a mage hawke will decimate virtually anything warriors however in DA2 are only able to be real good damage dealers by increasing dexterity without the extra crit hits warriors cant do nuthing but take punishment warriors do win in having cooler looking armor sets mages only get the awsome badass armor set with the champion set or the DLC mage pack

First playthrough I was a warrior and every playthrough since, I've gone with a Mage. Yes you have a small health bar, but if you learn Creation you can friggin heal yourself! You can also inflict status effects, and you have Fire Storm and Tempest. On top of that, you get Carver. IMO, he is a far deeper character than Bethany. I definitely prefer a Mage over a warrior.

1. Mages are useless on their own, as they die way too easy if they don't have warrior tanks to protect them from melee attacks.

2. Warriors have all sorts of abilities but they do have the disadvantage of range. Since they are melee attack masters. Although warriors' health is pretty fucking big! It will end eventually and so will the game.

So stop arguing and realize that both need each other. There's no "best" class, it's just what you prefer.
