  • i will always miss our boys, the thrashers, not the jets. Atlanta will welcome another team with open arms, but for now we mourn, even after 8 months

  • @WhateverrMann why would the NHL come back to Atlanta after the city lost 2 nhl teams ( trashers and atlanta flames )? It's obviously not a hockey market there

  • @max432156 i didn't say that it would come back, i said that the city would be happy if one did come back

  • @max432156 Being a "hockey market" had nothing to do with it.

  • @JHHBeck yes it had something to do with it, a hockey market is a city in which people take an interest in the sport of hockey, if in a city like Atlanta, only a very small part of the population takes an interest in hockey and therefore does not support it's hockey team, it's not a hockey market.

  • @max432156 Yeah, you just kinda... made that up. But, thanks for your input, doctor. Clearly, your understanding of the situation is lacking.

  • I sympathize with Thrasher fans, but the problem was simply that there weren't enough to sustain the team. Being a Jets fan, I am glad we got a team, but I think marketing was a problem. Not just marketing the team, but hockey in general. Give potential fans a good reason to get interested and invest their time, money, and hearts in the team. I am glad the 'Peg has a team, but hockey could possibly work in the South, not at the expense of a Canadian city, but yes, it just requires more work.

  • @idonthavegoodname1 The only work it would require is a winning team. Atlanta supported the team when they were successful.

  • @tbhasty Atlanta has lost two teams now, though, both to Canada...

Atlanta's not a bad sports city, but it just isn't a hockey city.

And I'm not saying this as an All-North-Or-Nothing kind of guy--I'm a Ducks fan.

But at least the Ducks won games, built an image, had an iconic logo and look to them, great players that every fan knew, twp Cup runs and one Cup win...

Even if you didn't root for the Ducks, they felt supported.

The Thrashers had a chance...they just never took off...Go Jets?

  • @tbhasty It is still sad it had to be like that, though...

  • @tbhasty Real sports fans support their team even when they are going through rough times, not only when their team is successful

  • @max432156 Those of us watching this video always supported our team, through thick and thin. You're preaching to the choir.

  • Thanks for being crappy fans atlanta... Now we got the jets... Sincerely winnipeg

  • @GoJays09 i mean i guess thats accurate

  • So stoked the Jets are finally back.

If Phoenix moved to Quebec City all would be right with the world, and it would be sick if the Whalers came back too!

  • It's important to remember: what brought the 'Thrashers' to Altanta in the first place. Don't put down the fans. Folks joke about the '5 or 6 or 7' in attendance. Bettman had an idea; a carrot was dangled and someone bit. Maybe in the future; now that Atlanta has had that Winnipeg curse; they'll now know what it is like to have a team taken away.

Let's not forget the original Flames. But two strikes. You folks have kickass baseball (WOW) and football. I think you'll be A-OK!

  • So glad Bettman's Sun Belt plan is crumbling. Winnipeg got back it's team that never should've been lost in the first place. After all, Lord Stanley is too refined a gentleman to be meddling below the Mason Dixon Line. Hell, these Atlanta fans wouldn't know a puck from a chicken they just plucked and fucked! Thank god this city was put out of it's misery.

  • Gary Bettman is the only one who thought brain dead rednecks who can't speak english would like hockey.

  • @08selinakyle What a narrow mind you have. Ignorance is bliss, I suppose...

  • Common... This city just didn't deserve a hockey team at all ... Give them a AHL team first is what they should have done , to see if they could handle the NHL level. Same thing with pheonix & Columbus. Get teams back in Quebec city , Hamilton , Hartford , fuck u Gary Bettman ruining hockey greedy American money monger

  • @MultiBlackjack24 I'd understand posting that comment if people in Atlanta were talking shit about winnipeg before the team moved, but the fact is they didn't...and you really come off as a classless prick posting it.

  • @tbhasty im with you on this one..... im from winnipeg and i understand the pain from the atlanta fans. and I cant believe someone would be so cold to put a comment like that. multiblackjack. F*** you u make winnipeg fans look like D***s. asshole.

  • @MultiBlackjack24 You're a fucking asshole. Take your gift with dignity you prick. You're damn luck you get to watch hockey in that 12 seat arena in Winnipeg. You're an example of why fans from Canada are disliked across the States.

  • @NYI914021 Don't let him get to you, man. Once the US dollar strengthens - Winnipeg will become the second city to lose two franchises.

  • @JHHBeck Honestly, I never was an ATL fan (you can tell by the name lol) but stuff like that gets to me. Especially being an Isles fan with relocation always a possibility. The ATL fanbase wasn't huge, there were many diehard fans that were deeply saddened by losing the team. Reading his comment makes me hope that what you say is true.

  • @NYI914021 It was certainly heartbreaking, and I would hate to see the same thing happen to the Islanders (especially considering their championship history). You have to understand, when speaking to Canadians, that all they have is hockey - so times like these are the only opportunities they get to trash talk to Americans.

  • @MultiBlackjack24 Yeah dude, no need to hate Atlanta. They did nothing to you, asshole.

  • this is my point, after reading comment after comment about teams and cities, i have come to the conclusion that some cities can't handle a hockey team cause hockey one is not a sport that is recognized in that area and two the financial aspect of it as well.

  • Last game of the old jets: sold out. This game? Looks like they couldn't even sell out their last game.

  • @paulthesane I don't think they knew that it was their last game.

  • @paulthesane Games like these will always sell-out when it is known that it is that last game. They knew in Winnipeg but not here.

  • @paulthesane We didn't yet know they were being relocated. Do you people read anything before spouting bullshit?

  • @JHHBeck You didnt. The point is, if you knew you would be losing more in attendance. Atlanta is not a hockey city. its a joke.

  • @BustinBeaver Highest average attendance of any expansion team in history - outdrawing original six teams in its first few years, before it was bought out by ASG. Not a joke - but your response was.

  • @JHHBeck Highest average attendance and never grew. Tell me how they are one of the consistent bottom 5 in attendance? Stick to college football.

  • Comment removed

  • @JHHBeck Well tell me who would be interested in owning a team, who cant even fill an arena? A stupid owner. thats who. What a joke. Cant blame the owners ALONE. Blame yourself as well..

  • @BustinBeaver Blame myself? I didn't miss a home game in the last two years they were in Atlanta. I can absolutely blame the owners - they had no interest in owning the Thrashers from the start and, thus, made no financial commitment (beyond the minimum) and would have sold them earlier had they not been restricted by their purchasing contract. There was no enthusiasm from the owners and, thus, no enthusiasm from the fans.

  • Winnipeg Jets crowds are insane when they come out, I mean I feel bad for all you fans really watching a video with good bye(the Atlanta Thrashers Say Thank You and Goodbye) and that really made me feel for you guys, bit emotional, I mean Jets really deserved a team back and everyone in Manitoba and Winnipeg happy, and I mean maybe one day it will happen again for you guys

  • First game in Thrashers history with more than 7 fans.

  • I hope hockey will back in Atlanta, but not in NHL, maybe in AHL

  • Alanta well only well get an ahl team @alexlevesque96

  • Thank you ASG!!!!! Enjoy counting you rmoney

    IN HELL!

  • i went to their last game right behind the goalie chris mason

  • Atlanta Nevered Deserved A Team Neither Did Phoenix But If I Would Of Chose Phoenix To Move The Peg.

  • @Shaniathemmen Phoenix will be gone after this season. Either to Kansas City or Quebec City.

  • @Shaniathemmen Atlanta had the highest average attendance of any expansion team in league history for its first few seasons - outdrawing 'traditional' market teams, until ASG bought the team and let it all crumble. Don't comment if you don't know what you're talking about.

  • @Shaniathemmen What a joke this comment is...they had the worst ownership in the history of sports. As a hockey fan who had his Hartford Whalers move at the age of 4, I am deeply saddened I never got to attend a Thrashers game before I moved to Atlanta for college this past fall. Guess the NHL will continue to evade me...would have attended A LOT of games.

  • last game of existance as well

  • With 7 of 30 Canadian teams ..... it is clear that a Canadian team not win the cup eh?? so HABS have won 24 Stanley Cups ...:)

With the weakness of your dollars, it is clear that you lose at a club in Atlanta and pays the price. Its been two teams that you have (Flames and Thrashers) and not walk and will walk plua ever! The prohainne team in the NHL will have another Quebec City Americans lost their club .. probably Phoenix or Florida or maybe Columbus

  • That Atlanta is like backwoods Mississippi. It's not. Fckin idiot.

Oh, also NASCAR is not the number one sport here in Atlanta- it is in Alabama. College football is THE sport here and no other part of the country is better for a college football fan. We DIDN'T pack out our NASCAR races here, hence why we only get one per year.

  • @VideoSuperMaster you realize that Atlanta and it's metro area is comprised largely of people from other parts of the country, right?i know it because i'm from the North and now live here. Many people in this city had their prior allegiances (boston, NYR, buffalo, pitt) and didn't "adopt" the Thrashers as a team. As for inbred hicks, yes there are some but there are even some in Connecticut where im from. Atlanta is a very "hip" liberal city. Leave it to someone who's never been here to assume

  • Too bad the backwards thinking hicks in Atlanta can't appreciate hockey enough to keep a team around. You rednecks won't be seeing hockey again for a very long time. And you nitwits are the same morons filling NASCAR stadiums to capacity. The same wife beating, inbred, toothless, obese, retarded people who Americans are embarrassed to call our own.

  • @VideoSuperMaster Wow what a moron you are. Do you really believe all Southern people are as you described? You need to grow a brain and think before you speak. If it wasn't for the South the East Coast states wouldn't be able to survive. Over 70% of food comes from the South and most manufacturing of products does as well. So STFU!!!!

  • We so thrilled U get a team cause since atlanta sprit group who own since 96 when started hated own n with don (teflon) waddell plan to sale in 2011...and as fast u can say Bettman stinks n i will not go there for Prasopara i could say canada sucks too But i will not i love my country dad fought for freedom in ww2 and also retire dan snyder jersey n number at winnipeg home opener and put on You tube!

  • Bye bye Atlanta, welcome Jets and viva Canada hockey. USA sucks !!

  • @Prasopora really when was the last time canada had the cup?

  • And they say Atlanta isn't a hockey team......

  • Screw the Winnipeg Jets the Atlanta Thrashers will live forever!!!

  • @4lifeReagan how when they dont exist

  • @Rossco9898 They live on in the minds and hearts of true hockey fans that loved them. Now thats the truth but you go ahead and make a joke of it ok.

  • @4lifeReagan no i wasnt joking.. they dont exist. you know what i should not be mean. Atlanta is Canada's official manufacturer of NHL teams.. so instead thank you for the flames and the Jets! now fight for another team so we can bring them to Quebec City!!!

  • @Rossco9898 Dude stop smoking the pipe ok, Quebec nor Hamilton will ever see the NHL so quit talking about it. Quebec couldn't even support the IHL and AHL teams they had so the NHL is definetly out of the future discussions as well.

  • @4lifeReagan hahaha are you serious! Quebec City would not be able to support an NHL team!? They are building a brand new stadium right now (a stadium that is official in size to the NHL) which is also being funded by the Province of Quebec, because everybody knows that hockey is huge in Quebec! Plus Hamilton is situated in whats known as "the golden horseshoe" as there are 8 million people there. And if you know anything about Canada we love the sport. So stick to your Nascar

  • @Rossco9898 how is it, the size of Winnipeg (around 800,00 people) to Atlantas (5 million, with metro) can support an NHL team? because people in Winnipeg pay money to watch the games because they love hockey.

  • @Rossco9898 I hate nascar but love hockey. You ever heard of the Houston Aeros of the AHL? The City loves this team and we going to be in the running to get the Coyotes from what I hear. I can garentee Hamilton nor Quebec will get them!!!

  • @4lifeReagan surprisingly enough, Texas state seems to support hockey well. I actually would not be surprised if Houston were to support an NHL team. The thing is I think Quebec City would show a stronger support for a new team, as well as, Quebec City is geographically close to a lot of already placed NHL teams, making travel cheaper, as well as building a huge rivalry.

  • @Rossco9898 The thing is we all know how Bettman does things and without a modern arena that can make the teams and NHL money no one is getting a team. Quebec may be building one and thats great but from what I hear it will take 4 years, then Hasmilton wants to renovate the Copps Colisiuem and we know thats not good enough for Bettman either. Thats why people continue to Houston or Kansas City because both have state of the arty arena's that are both not even 8 years old.

  • @blueandgold1000 heatley left the thrashers(jets) before he left us. that proves u guys suck he spent work years with us then he did with u

  • @blueandgold1000 kane sucks hes overrated by the nhl like ovechkin and Crosby (just not as popular.) and he'll probably want to get traded after 5 bad years with the jets. mark schifile will probably get sent to the minors and be replaced by some new comer. blake wheeler might have 20 points....but not 20 goals.

  • @blueandgold1000 haha neither will u...antropov will retire then ull have no all stars then ur gonna right at the bottum ur goalies suck to...

  • @blueandgold1000 is all u can say go jets..there the thrashers on the inside so there gonna be just like the thrasers

  • @blueandgold1000 i live in ottawa u fool im not going to atlanta when i can watch them on tv

  • winnipeg doesnt diserve nothing bring back the thrashers

  • If the Thrashers had more stable ownership and a competent management team, hockey could of worked in Atlanta, as much crap as Phoenix gets, teams with good management work in the south (Carolina, Nashville, Tampa Bay)

  • so did you have to go with the premium wash or just the regular car wash to get those tickets?

  • @nyyNYR2094 good job troll.

  • never bring back that embarrassment now that winnipeg is back they must stay

  • i m glad of the atlanta thrashers gone they will do better up in Canada where i live but i dont live in manitoba live in ontario and winnipeg is now my 2nd fav

  • There is no joy in Thrasherville, for the Thrashers have moved out. The Flames did better in their eight seasons than the Thrashers did in their 12 seasons. In fact, I think many people still loved the Atlanta Flames more than they did the Thrashers. After Ted Turner sold the team, those knuckleheads at Atlanta Spirit messed up. I think that each person on Atlanta Spirit did the work of three men. Unfortumately, they were Moe, Larry, and Curly (no, The Stooges would have done a better job).

  • they will be missed

  • what are they gonna do with the thrasher heads

  • @godawgs721 This video should answer your question: youtu. be/Ea6c6394gMU (delete the space in the URL)

  • @tbhasty aw that sucks

  • @tbhasty thrashers are now the winnapeg jets

  • the last in team history too

  • @ehresmania7 yep it is
