  • if quentin tarantino couldn't find a real bible verse, he should have just attacked a photographer. this is bullshit. cheating with the old documents. that's low. i will boycott his movies for this bullshit tactic. and to quote the book of JOBAHAIHAH 3: 13, "AND YE VERILY QUENITIN, YOU SHOULD NOT TOUCH NOR ALTER OF PASSAGES, THOUGH THOU THINKEST THYSELF GREAT, FOR UPON THEE WILL COME THE INTERNET, WHICH SHALL ENABLE FLOCKS TO SEE THOU ART AS UNTO FULL OF SHIT."

  • @Floodlezoot what so you'd rather him use a real bible verse before he shot someone? he probably did it to stop offending people like you... cant win.

  • @slidedat It's like a movie saying the city of London is in Germany or something like that. It's taking something real "the Bible" and altering it's text for the movie maker's convenience. It's more impressive to take something real and not have to alter it to make it work in the movie. Also, it's just disrespectful of a famous book to alter its words. Maybe everyone doesn't have this feeling, but it really bugs me, because simply, it would have been cool if he could have used a real verse.

  • @Floodlezoot I disagree; he just wanted a simple verse about the shepherd, the tyranny of evil men, and the righteous man, which becomes sort of a theme later on. I also think it was justified because his alteration made the delivery perfect.

  • If the church teaches to be as cool as him I might start going..!

  • well i hope that the navy seal who shot bin laden said this to him

  • The flash of golden light at :56 while they waste Brett is the same light in the briefcase. It represents everything Jules spells out in the prayer, basically what it means to be a "bad motherfucker." Brett was trying to gain that power by screwing over Marcellus, the flash was Jules and Vincent taking it back.

  • @bubatar It's written by Quentin Tarantino and he credits himself in the end credits, not the Bible.

  • where the hell does he go to church?

  • Bad motherf*cker

  • Thanks Lozza, with this I learned 議

  • too quiet, i got it on full volume and its at whisper level

  • @johnfox1johnfox1 It's written by Quentin Tarantino and he credits himself in the end credits, not the Bible.

  • tune at the end! :)

  • AND I WILL STRIKE DOWN UPON THEE, WITH GREAT VENGEANCE AND FURIOUS ANGER, THOSE WHO ATTEMPT TO POISON AND DESTROY MY BROTHER

  • SAM'S QUOTE WAS FROM A MOVIE CALLED THE BODY GUARD STARRING SONNY CHIBA (1976) THE LINES WAS USED AT THE BEGINNING OF THE MOVIE

  • Why did he kill him?

  • @Houndz1100 Cos he fucked tried to fuck his boss! And as Mr Jackson delicately puts it "Mr Wallace don't wanna get fucked by anyone but Mrs. Wallace"

  • If he was a preacher I'd crap my pants every Sunday.

  • @evil10 HAHAHAHA XD That was fuckin hilarious!

  • @evil10 Motherfucker, you'd be dead his first service.

  • @Johnathanmaturino still worth it :D

  • @evil10 LOL.

  • 14 people does look like a bitch.

  • fyi for those of you who dont know. just the last sentence is made up

  • Who gives a shit, it's cool and I love it!

  • Now that I seen this more and more I have more negative thoughts about it. I don't think you can abuse bible's words for this agression. It's like blasphemy.

  • This is a mish mash of Psalm 23 and Isaiah, but I like it even though it's not in the BIble

  • this actually isnt in the bible

  • Samuel L. Jackson just converted me to Christianity.

  • Power words from the Bible. Jackson knows he's the man!

  • you are too polite for internet fam

  • @ajc55ny Judge not! Free speech! Any of that ringing any bells? It's your book man... ; )

  • Free speech, free to judge, genius

  • great minds think alike!

  • Actually, Tarantino didn't mean to quote the bible, he's a big Sonny Chiba fan and he got the line from a Sonny Chiba movie called Karate Kiba (The Bodyguard). Sonny Chiba quoted it from the bible, but changed "and they shall know my name is the Lord..." to "and they shall know that I am Chiba the bodyguard..." in his movie.

But all in all a very powerful passage in Ezekiel showing the vengeful side of God watered down a lot these days when you hear the Word.

  • lol i thought it also says I shall not kill

  • @99none99 haha... they are all metaphors so there are different understanding of the texts.

  • "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper, and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger, those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers; and you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee!"

  • the real Ezekiel 25 v 17

I will carry great vengence o tehm and punish them i My wrath. then they will know that I am the LORD, when I take vengence on them.

tarintino imbelished the passage to make it sound better.

  • well cuz ur reading the king james version

  • ROYAL WITH CHEESE

  • Such a great movie

  • and he also says upon thee

  • WHEN I LAY MY FINGERS ON YOU !! DAMN Thats a good line

  • He says vengeance, not fingers.

  • @T3bb56 he said When I lay my Vengeance not my fingers

  • Please don't ruin awesomeness with a CoD reference.

  • man Samuel Jackson is a total bamf!!

  • the bible rules, so much cool stuff in it

  • yeeaaaah buddy!

  • "Does he Look like a BITCH?!"

  • WHAT?

  • SAY "WHAT" AGAIN!!!

  • *worried* WhAt!?! o_O

  • Best movie ever

  • I just saw this movie for the first time yesterday. I missed a lot. Great movie.

  • Yea, you really need to see it a few times. You'll notice new things each time

  • yeah, ive seen it like atleast 6 times, and i notice more and more small details everytime

  • is it actually in the bible? or is it from a sonny chiba film?

  • only like 3 lines are actually in the bible

  • das wut I herd.

  • Try the New International Version!

  • Dunno why these Retards are giving your comments a thumbs down because you're right, It's a mix of Ezekial 25:17 and the openning scroll of Karate Kiba/The bodyguard which does indeed star Sonny Chiba.

  • Dunno why it's such a big deal. Ezekial is cut from most versions of the bible for proving Aliens exist and being a prophet. Plus the actual passage is in a nearly dead language and the context is far different. Shit happens when you translate something from Aramaic to Greek to Latin to Olde English to American. yo B. XP

  • Because The Bible Is In The Same Category As Harry Potter Books

  • Yep. Fictional shit. Only the HP books are harmless (annoying, but harmless). The Bible... well, take a look at History.

    You're absolutely right.

  • bla...bla....bla....and DooooooR...

  • The glow when they shoot him is part of the theory that the case contains the soul of Marsalis. However supposedly the glow is not the guy's soul leaving, but rather just a glitch on the film.

However it does fit everything else, if you believe that theory.

  • yea thats y the code for the briefcase is 666

  • The glow was mostly just to say that the thing in the case was extremely valuable, whatever it was.

  • it was Marcellus Wallace's sole. do you remember the bruise on the back of his neck. it was those to guys that took his sole. or at least that's a rumor but an interesting one

  • not in the bible just sayin

  • He deserved an oscar for this roll.Does anyone know if he won anything for it.

  • definitely deserved an oscar!

Samuel L Jackson WAS that role - i believed everything that came out of his mouth

  • He was nominated but didn't win. He won the BAFTA and of course, worlwide recognition

  • is it just me or is this one of the scariest movie scenes ever

  • Yeah, religion can be scary. :P

  • I like his quote about a minutes before this. "Does he look like a bitch?!" lol

  • why you trying to fuck him like a bitch?

  • lol, he shoots the guy then quotes the bible. pretty ironic

  • this quote is on cypress hill make a move

  • Samuel L Jackson the best "motherfucker" ever.

  • "say what one more time. i dare you, i double dare you" film of a generation ;-)

  • what BOOM!!!!!! XD

  • I got that quote for my Letterman's Jacket

  • Haha one of the most ridiculously gratuitous scenes ever.

  • The tyrannical comes from corporate america.

  • Samuel L. Jackson is so badass. I love this movie.

  • @VivaLeFunk Batman would take him out in 1 second.

  • Old movie but i can still watch this 1000 times!

  • you missed the part where he says

''DOES HE LOOK LIKE A BITCH?!?!''

  • For the Cypress Hill fans (besides that it's a great movie): these scene is the intro of "Make a Move" from the album III (Temples of Boom ) ;-)

greetings from an halfghanaian and halfgerman fan

  • For those that don't know the bible has many different versions in which verses are changed completely including chapters being taken out.

  • He's actually quoting a Sonny Chiba movie erroneously quoting the bible. I'd take Chiba over Jesus any day. What this world needs is some prophet to scribe the gospel of Chiba.

  • wat a brilliant film

  • They did this to build suspense befor he shot him. So when he does it there needs to be no blood. The director did this all the way through cos he was slated for to much violance in his last film. If you watch pulp fiction, there is nothing violance in it. (apart from the head blowing up bit)

  • I beg to differ. there is little actual violence in the film, more like suspense and such. But I remember a somewhat graphic shooting, someone being hit with a car, and more shootings. But reservoir Dogs was way more violent

  • what about the butt rape part at the end?

  • i lol'd at that part

  • Thats wrong, his last movie didnt have too much blood, and pulp fiction had WAY more blood, what about the scene after this where they should the black kid in the face and his blood and brain shoot all over the place, that scene alone had more blood than in reservoir dogs altogether.

  • Intense

  • haha badass

  • greatest scene ever

  • @omano117

Not just the greatest scene it is one of the greatest films

  • Too bad the whole thing was not a direct quote from the bible... (only the last 2 sentences). For a minute, I was actually thinking of reading the damn thing, maybe even becoming religious .

  • I'm thinking of reading the Bible just so I can quote something from it in case I have to kill someone.

  • It's something I haven't come around to do yet...I'd love to say I'm in a rush but even people who say they are christian dont even bother reading it.

  • @Gyanzak sorry but its not in any version ive ever reseached cant find it want to

  • you are absolutely right but it sounds cool anyway

  • HMMM HMMM, This ihiiis a tasty burger!!!

  • awsome film

  • i dont get it why 2 people shoots only one guy like 10 time both of them and he was already shot once!

  • The whole point was to intimidate the victim and wow the audience into posting the short clip on the internet.

  • Misses Wallace LOL I love how he says it in a whisper quite funny how he drags on MIssesWALLACE

  • BAM BAM BAM!!!

  • No Mace Windu! This is not the Jedi way!

  • And we see that later when Mrs. Wallace's Husband, aka Mr. "Tyranny of" Evil Men, gets sodomized on his double date with Zed and Maynard. Oh, wait, that's not the Jedi Way, either.

Bruce Willis with a Samurai Sword....now that's the Jedi Way.

  • this part is so badass

  • yea indauja your an asshole

  • Well, a racist jackass posting on the internet is worse if you ask me.

  • look at his hair man. what else does he look like to you?

  • LOL (Y)

  • you bitch

  • I so rated this 5 stars. I love this scene.

  • hahaha

  • lmao

  • Ez. 25:17 actually reads "I will carry out great vengeance on them and punish them in my wrath. Then they will know that I am the Lord, when I take vengeance on them." In refference to the philistines. Not much else of the quote is directly from the bible, but still some cold stuff to stay before you cap someone. Fav movie of all time, well, maybe tied with snatch, I could watch these two movies for the rest of my life a million times.

  • Actually, what ever way you say it interpret it or wish it to be you can never know if that was the original notation, because I'm pretty sure your aware that people have changed the bible thousands of times over. And this movie was great btw.

  • True, however, the passage was intentionally "misquoted" for the movie. :) Yay Film Lit class!

  • wilfordj2001

ur soooo fuckin right bout everythin

  • Religious people are nuts.

  • he made this movie.
