This cartoon was made during a time of war with the Japanese. To judge it now when we aren't at war with them anymore is ridiculous. This is history even if it's a cartoon. This cartoon was made during a time of war with the Japanese. To judge it now when we aren't at war with them anymore is ridiculous. This is history even if it's a cartoon. Does anyone here want to judge the propaganda that the Japanese was spewing during the same time? Remember, this is from the era of the Pearl Harbor bombing, and there are still soldiers on both sides who remember. All media is representative of the time it was made. Read your history books (the unsanitized ones).

True, this was commonplace in the 40s, but so were lynchings, and segregation, and prescribing meth as an anti-depressant. You can't just glibly write off the misdeeds of past generations purely on the basis of being past generations.

It is funny. It's the same for how every ethnicity was represented at one point. It's not wrong, it's just what happened.
