  • I asked a priest friend, "Why does God reward the gullible and condemn the inquisitive?" He wanted me to repeat and qualify the question as if he had never considered it before and just gave me the canned answer he was trained to give.

  • I'm a christian and my boyfriends an atheist. He told me and i did not get up all on him because he is. But now he sended me a link and this was it. Something tells me... I has to do something

  • @AirStar2472 yea learn how to speak english...

  • @AirStar2472 I can haz a cheeseburger?

  • @AirStar2472 You need to stop skipping class.

  • "We're not holding their sandwich ransom", LMAO! Love it!

  • You know, they really scraped the bottom of the barrel. The caller was obviously one of their own goons, in attempts for major publicity, they hire a person to call when days are slow, and bash an obviously non-christian. I don't know whose more gullible, the people who watch this and think its real, or the Atheists who believe in evolution (and still think this is real).

  • ...is this caller George Lucas?

  • As a wise man said "Stop bothering Catholics"

  • which there are many who really aren't saved) must have proof to exploit their beliefs, but atheist don't need proof because it's a personal choice. So is to believe and become saved. A free will-personal choice. That seems rather hypocritical doesn't it? The fact your searching for something is proof is it not?

  • I was born and grew up in Austin. It's so much different from the rest of Texas, and I swear people like this were fucking everywhere. My next door neighbors gave me a bible and tried converting me--when I was SEVEN. Of course I believed everything they said, I was a kid.

  • Dude this video is ownership

  • This guy has a lot of good points but A. Religion and Science search for the same thing. B. The Bible is not to be taken as fact, it is true in the same sense as greek mytholgy is true. C. Being an atheist and saying "God does not exist" is as arrogant as saying "I know for sure the God that exists." I don't think anyone truly knows what existence is. You can measure the big bang, but where did the big bang come from? That's the question man has always tried to answer.

  • @fcmilsweeper9

"Being an atheist and saying "God does not exist" is as arrogant as saying"

No it isn't. You don't get to equate having an opinion on an idea as being arrogant. Do you go around telling non-believers in the Loch Ness monster that they are arrogant too ? Existence is a word, look it up.

"where did the big bang come from? That's the question man has always tried to answer."

Not really, that question only came after scientists hit upon the evidence for a big bang.

  • This guy has a lot of good points but A. Religion and Science search for the same thing. B. The Bible is not to be taken as fact, it is true in the same sense as greek mytholgy is true. C. • @theP3rSonhuRocks what did i say to you???

  • His point is bias, and in parts irrelevant. He obviously didn't research his information. I don't know where he found his evidence of an old earth? This Video proves that people are just willingly ignorant to believe anything some "Joe" says. And this guy they got to call in is no doubt some "Joe" Christian (no offense if he is a person of faith and knowledge), and "Compelled to draw these horrible things about us," You insinuate that Christians are apart from humans. This is plain foolishness.

  • Pretty sure Matt just Chuck Norrised God in the balls. If they played this on repeat on every channel of TV worldwide for one day, the majority of the planet would be atheist by the end of the week. (Got to give people a couple days to sort out their thoughts after their minds just got blown.)

  • i have to admit that i have dumped 2 girlfriends now because of there beliefs in christianity. It just bugged me so much n i got so angry when they patronized me for being an atheist or when they said they feel sorry for me being an atheist. im not tolerant either :(

  • @ATOZBTOURMOMMA bitches

  • @theP3rSonhuRocks yep. all of what you said is true. every bit of it. thank you for judging me based on youtube comment...

  • @chadwick0091 I find it quite hilarious that both comments have the same amount of thumbs ups, I wonder why...

  • @theP3rSonhuRocks "I find it quite hilarious that both comments have the same amount of thumbs ups, I wonder why..." probably because people voted them up the same number of times...just a wild guess

  • @theP3rSonhuRocks ''Keep in mind they went out with him to BEGIN with'' Im pretty sure they went out with him just to try and convert him, but dumped him when they saw they couldn't do so. and yes I've been dumped after some of my ''girlfriends'' told me that they couldn't go out with a guy with no god...Those bitches!

  • @ChaoticRupture Thats How you see Christian's? What ignorant foolishness. People say this all the time, "She dumped me because i wasn't christian", She went out with you, not for religious beliefs but because she saw something in you, then she finds that you are not what she was looking for, and you get dumped. Then you blame her belief. Well I've been dumped before by people who weren't Christians and Christians of the like, I don't blame science. I know it hurts but...

  • @theP3rSonhuRocks blaming their belief is just retarded. Just take it like a man, and realize that it was your mistakes that ended the relationship, not her belief. If her belief played any role in your relationship she wouldn't have gone out with you at all. I'm praying for you man, there's plenty of fish in the sea. (just saying my Christian Aunt is married to a non-Christian scientist, and they have 2 Christian Children, sure she's tried to save him, but he has his beliefs)

  • @theP3rSonhuRocks Learn to read, I already told you they said to me that they couldn't go out with me because my lack of faith. they were very very religious. 90% of the time they said bullshit to me like: To bad you are not gonna be in heaven with me...and I was just like: Fuck you! it's almost impossible for 2 persons with different beliefs, they always try to convert you.

  • @ChaoticRupture So... You went out with the most religious people you could find, and you blame them for your break up? Are you stupid? If you knew they were "they were very very religious. 90% of the time they said bullsh*t to me..." Then that would mean, that you knew before hand what you were getting into. It would seem as though you went into the relationship in hopes to have someone to blame. You sad, sad child. So what if they were religious, at least they cared for you...

  • @theP3rSonhuRocks I didn't knew they were religious, the first dates were pretty normal, movies etc.. they didn't mention to me that they were pretty religious, I think they just assumed that I had their same beliefs...but then they invited me to meet their family and that's how everything started crumbling. after they knew I was atheist (Wich was very damn awkward because of their parents) they started saying bullshit to me...not before that, so they are the bitches.

  • @ChaoticRupture (Nice English) Look, I'm not here to give dating advice. I'm sorry for your loss, but your story seems a little off, It sounds to me like you dated sisters, "They were religious" "They assumed" "Their family", IDK, but if you dated sisters, lol, its your fault. Who broke up with whom? And if they were really religious, they'd be publicly religious. (Because that's what I'm getting here). And they at least cared about you to save you from where your going.

  • @theP3rSonhuRocks Weather their Christian or not, you can't blame them for their beliefs. Though my opinion may be bias, and you might not be telling me everything, I can tell you, from my perspective, we Christians don't damn you. We tell you out of sincere love that we never want to see you in Hell, weather you believe it or not, you can say that they loved you that much. Your rather crude illustration of hating prophesying, Christians, is false. But that only my opinion...

  • @theP3rSonhuRocks "Weather their Christian or not, you can't blame them for their beliefs." it will be how they were indoctrinated as children usually.

  • @SOAS007 Coming from you, our Children are indoctrinated with the belief of an old age Earth, one they cannot prove. They deny the existence of God, and constantly attack the Biblical accounts without knowledge of any topic. Now you accuse Christians of Indoctrination, what a petty excuse of a defense.

You still cannot blame a Christian for their religion, no more you could blame an Atheist in being Ignorant of fact.

  • @theP3rSonhuRocks "our Children are indoctrinated with the belief of an old age Earth, one they cannot prove" We can show them that all the evidence that points to the age of the earth / universe, by using the scientific method. If evidince comes to contridict it then we update the age. But all evidence points that way, so its not indoctrination.

  • @theP3rSonhuRocks "They deny the existence of God, " All tribes throughout history have invented gods, again, there is no evidence for any of them.

  • @SOAS007 Good point, but allow me to interject a fact. When a company has a good thing, say an Iphone. What usually happens to it? Is it not copied by competitors. The Bible, as you will soon find out is confirmed by other historical texts. so authenticity is not a problem, but if you notice, many texts of other religions take what is given in the Bible and supply their own spin on them. If something is good, it is most likely copied.

  • @theP3rSonhuRocks " If something is good, it is most likely copied. " like virgin births, miracles, creation stories, all powerful god(s), resurection.! All these ideas impressed mankind in his infancy, and were around centuries b4 the bible. So yes the bible is a copy, slightly different flavour of all the other religious ideas.

  • @theP3rSonhuRocks "The Bible, as you will soon find out is confirmed by other historical texts. so authenticity is not a problem" there are so many claims in the bible which are either contridicted within the bible or are known to be incorrect. Especially when the authors are trying to make prophecies fit. It make sit unreliable. Of course some real events and places are mentioned, but that is common in all fiction.

  • @theP3rSonhuRocks " constantly attack the Biblical accounts without knowledge of any topic" The bible has so many historical errors, and contridictions, forgeries, and has definately been tampered with because we have evidence for all these claims. This is known and taught at all major accredited theological institutions in the western world.

  • @SOAS007 Feel free to share, and maybe we can create some common ground. By the way, have you been to a theologian institution, I've been to several, however I prefer a public insitution, and within both, they respect the Bible as either a History book, or a Historical Religious text. But regal me with your details.

  • @theP3rSonhuRocks "By the way, have you been to a theologian institution" when I say theolgical instuitution I did qualify that , 'accredited' institutions, not some papermill made up kent hovind fake thing. The jews living in the desert, genocide by moses of various people as ordered by god, noahs flood etc, none of these are taken seriously as historical facts. Herods' masacre of the innocene? the empire wide census ( 10 years later) in the other birth myth, would not have happened either.

  • @theP3rSonhuRocks You suck

  • @ImSorryFive That's all you have to say? What a waste of a comment. I don't need to play the smart guy, I just need to show how truly retarded some of you are.

  • @theP3rSonhuRocks You suck

  • @ImSorryFive Your really grown up eh? Is this what Evolutionists have to offer, children? Is this what the education system done to them? Shame...

  • @theP3rSonhuRocks Honestly, one thumbs down the comment, yet bothers not to read it?

All the same, it doesn't matter, it just goes to show the ignorance of some.

  • He just crushed the caller

  • Just brilliant!

  • @Grygnax Yeah I knew it. I called it on one of the other videos. He was over doing it way too much on one of the videos; otherwise, he did pretty good. This one call he made, made it obvious.

  • Wow. Amazing video. I watched many times. Epic!

  • wooooah that other guy aged like 20 years since the last video I saw

  • favorited.

  • What he said about it being painful to see the people you love be dooped into a religion. Yep. I feel sorry for my parents for being brainwashed. But at the same time, sorry for myself for being born gay in their household, and knowing that because their religion says so, they can never fully accept me. I can see it in my mom's eyes that she wants to, but she feels like she's not allowed to. My dad thinks he needs to "save" me. It just pushes us farther and farther apart.

  • @ClubSealing You should not apoligize you were born gay. it is a natural thing, and there is no reason for you to complain about say being white for example, or being tall. Your parents are the ones to blame for being immoral, inconsiderate, and straight up bad parents. Your father is a bigot.

  • @LoluskPoo Yeah, I guess so, only they are good people. They've just been brainwashed. My mom wants to accept me, and my dad won't love me any less (he has a gay brother and they're still friends) but their church has taught them that in order to be saved, I need to be celibate for my entire life. And they're scared because they know that isn't happening. It's the church's fault, not theirs. I can't expect them to suddenly change when they've been brought up this way their whole lives.

  • This is right up there with Charlie Chaplin's final speech in The Great Dictator.

  • This is one of my favorite videos of all time. (Quite a title - I watch and enjoy a lot of videos.)

  • "Holding their sandwich ransom in the name of Jesus." Matt Dillahunty everyone.

  • "faith is not a virtue."

    tattoo inspiration. thanx, Matt.

  • This was a great show, even though Mark ended up being a prank caller all along.

  • @Grygnax No, he was a repeat caller. I'm pretty sure he is legit.

  • @TKStoddart Nope. He called in under multiple names (and a terrible British accent on one occasion) and when he finally got caught admitted he was a prank caller on the AE blog.

  • What more needs to be said?

  • I love hearing Matt talk. He's the biggest inspiration to the American atheist community as far as I'm concerned.

  • @BizambitD wheres YOUR proof?

  • Why do people laugh at creationists?

    -

"Let's put on our Biblical Glasses." — Ken Hamm

"The Grand Canyon could have been formed in about five minutes." — VenomFangX

"I believe we will find whale fossils on the moon." — NephilimFree

"What? I paid my taxes. Swear to God." — Kent Hovind

"WHY DO I NEED TO PRESENT ANY PROOF." — lordofthecoils

    -

    Only creationists don't know why.

  • After having read some of the many comments by @lordofthecoils, it apparent to me that it is a troll. Don't feed them.

  • @0zyxcba1 I NOTICE THAT WHE A ARGUMENT IS NOT GOING YOUR WAY YOU ATHIEST COUNTER WITH A RETARD INSULT OR YOUR A TROLL,CONCIDERING MOST OF YOUR NON INSULTING ANSWERS ARE GOOGLE DERIVED, IT LOOKS LIKE YOU HAVENT A ORIGIONAL THOUGHT BETWEEN YOU

  • @lordofthecoils

You ran out of arguments and then appealed to your own personal popularity.

Which was alarmingly retarded of you. But I ran with it and now you're the subject of a decent joke. I've improved your entertainment value by roughly a dozen times.

  • @rkyeun WHAT???????

  • @lordofthecoils

Does your grandfather know you're trolling on his YouTube account?

  • @rkyeun FIRSTLY YOU MAY NOT HAVE NOTICED ,BUT ALL THE CHILDISH NAME CALLING HAS COME FROM YOU , I MAY HAVE ANNOYED YOU BY SOME OF MY COMMENTS AND caps BUT AT NO TIME DID I STOOP TO YOUR LEVEL OF INSULTS. IM STILL WAITING FOR MY ORIGIONAL ANSWER ARE YOU ASKING FOR PROOF OF THE BIBLICAL HEBREW GOD OR ANY TYPE OF GOD.

  • @rkyeun SORRY JUST READ YOUR REPLY ON THE TYPE OF GOD QUESTION, FOR SOME REASON IT WAS FLAGGED AS SPAM , GOOD ANSWER.

  • @lordofthecoils

If you click the "Not Spam" button, it will undo the marking you did.

  • @rkyeun I DID READ YOUR COMMENTS FAIR ANSWER.

  • @rkyeun ATHIESM SEEMS TO BE A MODERN FAD AMONGST THE YOUNGER AMERICAN, THIRTY YEARS AGO YOUTH CULTURE HIPPYS ETC WERE INTO EXISTENTUAL, AND SPIRITUAL SELF KNOWLEDGE, EG, THE BEATLES , OF COURSE NOW CONSUMERISM IN SO MUCH A PART OF EVERYDAY LIFE, SPIRITUALISM IS A DIRTY WORD. AS YOU GET OLDER YOU START TO REALISE THERE IS MORE TO LIFE THAN WHAT YOU CAN TOUCH OR SEE.

  • @lordofthecoils

Epicurus is facepalming in his grave.

  • @rkyeun ataraxia and aponia to you to.

  • @lordofthecoils totaly incorrect. I did not become an athiest until I was 40 years old. But I finally realised no matter how hard Itry to deny it, science pretty much disproves most of the bible.and there is just too much rediculuosiness in the bible to be true. And when I totally open my eyes to reality ,there is no evidence of god.and most athiests seem to over 30 yrs of age that i have met.

  • @mandrillx most christians who belong to the more traditional creeds, are usually ones who have attended church beacause of their parents , people who have had a spiritual revelation of jesus, in my experience, do not realy on the validity of the old testiment. even the gospals, which are not eye witness accounts are just the foundation for the philosophys of jesus which true christianity is based on.. i would be interested in a quick summary of your old basis of faith.

  • @lordofthecoils what makes you think i'm an atheist?

  • OH SO YOU CAN QUOTE THE BIBLE AD VERBATUM ,PULL THE OTHER ONE!

  • @lordofthecoils

Not the whole of it. But I remember where certain fun passages are, and look them up in MY BIBLE to show you.

  • @rkyeun WELL IM GLAD YOU YOUR SO PROUD OF YOUR BIBLE,AT LEAST THATS A START.AND YOU STILL HAVENT ANSWERED MY QUESTION,ARE YOU SPEAKING OF A OMNIPUDENT GOD OF THE HEBREW BIBLE OR ANY GOD AT ALL, MAKE YOUR ANSWER CLEAR AND WE CAN DEBATE FURTHER

  • @lordofthecoils

I will not believe in any god for which there is no evidence.

  • Faith is worse than war because with faith there can be no reasoning; no negotiating; no compromise; no peace. Faith is a kind of brain death elevated to the status of virtue.

  • @lduych GOOGLE BUGLE NOT ORIGIONAL THOUGHT

  • i have spent years collecting proof on gods existance . i have currently in my possesion absoulute proof of gods existance, new sientific data on third diamensions . as i am currently writing a book i cannot divulge this information. but as you dont believe there is a god why do you need the proof?

  • @lordofthecoils

Because rational people care if their beliefs are actually true, and want to change their minds if they happen to be wrong, and want you to show them they are wrong whenever you can so they can not be wrong. But that takes evidence, which you have refused to provide.

  • @rkyeun100YRS AGO IF I HAD TOLD YOU ,ONE DAY YOU COULD LOOK INTO A SHINEY BOX AND BY TAPING AT IT YOU COULD HAVE ALL THE KNOWLEDGE OF MANKIND AT YOUR FINGERTIPS ,YOU WOULD HAVE THOUGHT ME MAD. DO NOT DISMISS ANYTHING ,ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE IN TIME.

  • @lordofthecoils

Lay off the capslock. It's not cruise control for cool.

In time someone may have evidence for god to present. On that day, someone may listen to them. But that day is not today, and that person is not you.

  • Lol holding the sandwich ransom

  • @BizambitD No theory ever said mankind comes from inorganic matter, evolution is a fact, and you're making a prejudice-filled assumption about all atheists. Go read some books and stop making a fool out of yourself.

  • "There are none more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsly believe they're free."

  • BizambitD I want you to go look up nested hierarchies and rethink your statement on evolution being shown to be impossible.

  • @BizambitD Do some reading before making ill-informed claims.

  • @BizambitD Evolution has nothing to say about how mankind came from inorganic matter. You're thinking of Abiogenesis. Watch this video: /watch?v=U6QYDdgP9eg and the first half of this one: /watch?v=2-GlvEqJB44

  • well.well ,all that spirituality right under your nose and you still have absolutely no idea what its about, either your playing dumb, just to get a realy good debate going, or my delusion is so far from your reality its like comunication between earthman and aliens.[no offence intended]

  • sorry that, is a bible quote by jesus, but if you see that as gibberish, and childish, i cant see much piont in this discussion.

  • @lordofthecoils "sorry that, is a bible quote by jesus, but if you see that as gibberish.

IT IS GIBBERISH. , evidence by authority is not impresive. If I wrote that phrase and published it would anyone be impressed. Its the phrase that counts. Thats what I want to hear, some wonderful incite, that jesus is supposed to have said, that is impressive , regardless of who said it. It the writing, not the writer that is important? please??

  • @SOAS007 "is a bible quote by jesus" this being meek thing is nonsense. It makes out like meekness is a virtue, and for demonstrating it you will 'inherit the earth' , whatever that means, a meek person would not want that, so its not simple. Here is an example of a gr8 piece of philosophy the old, I may not agree with you, but I will fight for your right to argue it.! It matters not who wrote it, it is still impressive.! HElp me find something so impressive originally in the NT. Pretty please?

  • @SOAS007 i can see your piont , but i dont think i can help you, unless you are on the brink of a spiritual revelation yourself. i am here on a athiest blog ,just a voice crying in the wilderness, and its not a problem as i believe sincerly what i tell you. so why dont you find your local evangelical style church this sunday, if youve got the bottle, stand in on a service, and find out for yourself.you might be suprised.

  • @lordofthecoils "spiritual revelation yourself"I am not really sure what that is, I do goto church services, have 3 friends that are proper vicars, but they just tell me how wonderful it is to be saved, but the simple question, saved from what?. renders no answer, and how, renders answers based on the NT Writ large ,that is if you believe this supernatural stuff we won't through you into a firey pit for eternity, which is not only unethical, but uninspiriing.Want inspirational meaningful words.

  • @lordofthecoils

Here's another fun quote by Jesus.

"Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."

Chug some Draino or you don't believe.

  • @rkyeun WHY DONT YOU LAY OF THE GOOGLE AND SAY SOMETHING ORIGIONAL

  • @lordofthecoils

Google? That's the Bible, son. You think I haven't read the Bible just because I'm an atheist? Shit, where do you think atheists come from, boy?

  • @rkyeun lol yup , beleive in jesus and you become superman/ so all devout believers, go drink some arsnic, grap a rattle snake buy the tail, or pat a vicious attack dog on the head, you will be fine, your jesus says so.

  • @mandrillx I meant by the the tail , sorry , was making a purchase at the justice while I was typing lol

  • @mandrillx the above comment is a typical example of high handed arrogance . and youve got the nerve to call my posts silly nonsense. if you want to have a adult debate relating to spiritual faith ,no probs ill try to answer all your questions fairly and curtiously if you can extent the same .

  • i could sit here all day typing , and unless you wanted to believe what i say ,or have real need for healing , and repentance, there will be a giant viod between both our thinking. if you wanted, even under the idea of a athiest experiment , me to help you in practical steps towards this so called delusion , i would be willing to help.

  • @lordofthecoils

You could sit here all day typing.

But unless you get around to showing that evidence you were talking about, you'll do exactly nothing. My beliefs are contingent upon them being demonstrably true, and until you can show evidence that yours are, you lose.

  • @rkyeun I HAVENT STATED ANY BELIEFS YET SO WHAT AM I LOSEING AT?

  • @lordofthecoils

You've stated a fuckton of beliefs.

  • @rkyeun IF THIS IS A TOP COMMENT SAYS A LOT ABOUT ATHISTIC ARGUMENTS.

  • @lordofthecoils

You are a retard whether this is a top comment or not.

  • That was the sound.......of getting blown away...

  • I imagine that a conversation between a Christian and an athiest might sound something like this:

A: Hey buddy, you might want to put on your seat belt

C: Nah, I have faith that God will keep me safe in the event of an accident

  • @Plague413

    Buddhist in the backseat.

B: "Please wear seatbelt. I was you last life."

  • @rkyeun DOCTOR: "YOUR SON IS DYING IT MIGHT BE TIME TO AT LEAST SAY A PRAYER" ATHIEST: NO WAY! I DONT BELIEVE IN A GOD.

  • @lordofthecoils there has been studies that already prove that praying does nothing for the terminally ill .they die and recover at the same percentages as non beleivers.

  • @mandrillx

Unless they know they're being prayed for. Then there's a NEGATIVE effect.

  • @mandrillx

Yeah man, it's been shown that people who knew they were being prayed for recovered at lower percentage compared to non believer, or believe who did not know they being prayed for. So much for prayer being helpful eh?

  • I just don't understand. It's not hard to get. WE ATHEISTS HAVE LOGIC...YOU CHRISTIANS DON'T. There's absolutely not a single argument for God's existence and no reference to Jesus outside the New Testament in any document.

  • I love Jeff Dee but this shadowy lighting is extremely unflattering for him.

  • Love

  • Sience explains itself, not God.

We have to rely on faith, not false human pride.

  • @AntiGroupThink People who rely on faith are blind.

  • @xBlackEditionx Faith is a inescapable part of the human mind.

We can't know everything at one and the same time.

"I said, Ye are (g)ods, and all of you sons of the (Most) High.

  • @AntiGroupThink No, YOUR mind is inescapable of FAITH.

  • @AntiGroupThink Can't you see? Your mind can't escape the concept of faith....You believe in god because your stuck in this mindset. It's a tragedy what religion has done to the people. Obscene rather.....

  • @xBlackEditionx First of all. You should not presume what I believe in or not.

Second, please comprehend the following logic:

When you'r taking the train home, do you know the train will arrive?

Whe walk home from the train station, do you know your door will be locked?

When you get inside, do you know who has called your answering machine?

  • @AntiGroupThink I comprehend them as questions. What do they have to do with anything?

  • @xBlackEditionx Faith based conclusions is not beliefe without knowledge.

Conclusions we (inescapably) make on a daily basis.

  • @AntiGroupThink Normal people don't go around making "faithful conclusions" about everyday life. We just live life. And we aren't worried or live our lives in fear about what's going to happen next. Maybe you do? Because you have some massive insecurity problems. But normal people aren't as paranoid as you are.

  • @xBlackEditionx

Normal? Paranoid? Insecurity? WOW that's a scientific and relevant. I guess you base that on your allknowing knowledge. No more time wasting on you!

  • @AntiGroupThink "When you'r taking the train home, do you know the train will arrive?" NO. Have you ever used the train system in the UK.!

  • @SOAS007 Geeze! It's not meant literally.

The obvious point, (to those who can think two steps ahead), is that you have trust in what you don't know.

The train could have crashed/broke down. Your home could been invaded by a theif/picked the lock etc. A very simpel argument even believers in atheism should be able to comprehend?

  • @AntiGroupThink I think it is you who cannot think 2 steps ahead my friend. You have evidence that the train will arrive because the train runs every day and 99.9 percent of the time it does arrive becuase you can actually see it, arrive.so you base your trust on the evidence that it in fact does arrive at its destination almost everyday.as for the intruder ,ny dog would more than likely take care of that

  • @mandrillx And yet you take it litteray????

Just shows how small mind you have not to comprehend.

  • @mandrillx "You have evidence that the train will arrive because the train runs every day and 99.9 percent of the time it does arrive " You don't live in the UK then :-) Here we trust( not have faith) it will be late or cancelled. Based on experience.!

  • @AntiGroupThink "Whe walk home from the train station, do you know your door will be locked?" Yes cos I would have locked it.! No faith required.

  • @AntiGroupThink False dichotomy. It's not either "faith" or "false human pride". It's belief founded on faith or belief founded on evidence. A true dichotomy. Those that choose faith can support any ridiculous idea that they believe, those that choose evidence are constrained to that for which evidence exists. God has no evidence in it's favour, therefore faith is required to keep believing it exists.

  • @Turgor An oversimplification. But what I mean.

Logical/empirical evidence gives reason to have faith in realitys unknown aspect.

Jesus himself was highly logical and reasonable. If he walked on water is nothing i can verify scientifically. That is left for faith to explain. Science on the other hand should not deny the same coherency. Some scientists hold the idea that in the future we will be able to walk through walls, travell to other dimensions etc. Faith again.
