  • What ever happened to Golden Earring?

  • This band is incredible=true perfection in every single way possible!!!

  • Ay, the good old days when every song had a drum solo! I miss the music from the 70's!

  • @Ibbygirl19 Me too music is just not the same anymore

  • Some-"ONE" hit the dislike button. I guess that "ONE" hates radar love.

  • I want red pants like that!

  • Damn, I love this.

  • One hit wonders! Good times though!

  • @rhodie007 Not quite, they charted with "The Twilight Zone" in 1982.

  • @themanmaschine Thanks for the update! Hope you have a great 2012!

  • @rhodie007 Golden Earring weren't one hit wonders , They had Twilight zone, Vanilla Queen, Candys going bad, and some more.

  • den sänger bitte einmal zum mitnehmen xD

  • herrlich :)

  • How good is that drummer!

  • @SimbosanYT incredible that is how good he is

  • Used to listen to it on KB RADIO 15 AM, Buffalo, NY. Lived on Jersey Shore. Didn't have much airplay in NYC market. Canada was the winner.

  • one of the Best Bands ever at their Peak! Stellar.

  • one of the Best Bands ever at their Peak! Stellar.

  • Has anyone ever seen a see-through guitar before? Amazing...Thanks for posting this video; I can't imagine it was an easy one to find.

  • @karmadhyana I have actually seen a lot of those guitars over the years. The most common were made by Dan Armstrong, Danelectro, or Hagstrom. A friend recently showed me a plexiglass Fender Stratocaster...

  • @allnightjohnson Omg, where can I get one? Are they still in production? Thx for the info! :D

  • @karmadhyana Ampeg is re-issuing this 1969 era (designed by Dan Armstrom) guitar that Keith Richards from the Rolling Stones played on tour. Bill Wyman also had the bass version.

  • would not let me post the link, but you can find more info at ampeg.com

  • TOP TUNE one of the first singles i purchased, still loveit!!!!!!!!!

  • one of the top albums of its day

    MAGIC

  • Nederland's tots

  • Five years ahead of their times - along with Focus !

  • Observations galore!

Drummer: Super fox, impressive 'package' featured at the end, GREAT solo.

Hippies? No, wrong time-frame. 'Sides, no self-respecting hippy wore platforms.

I wonder if anyone was ever skewered by a tossed electric guitar...or at least beaned. It's not like throwing an acoustic around...(besides, who would do that?)

Last refrain is almost anthemic, definitely the climax of the song (starts on "one", rather than "and").

    I <3 this song!

  • Hippies??? they were all freeze dried or doing hard time by the time this came out....LOL This was 70's rock n roll

  • @Musiclogic

Nice Gunny Highway reference. Stitch Jones 4ever......LOL

  • @1dirkmanchest Stitch jones....you're gonna be a rock-n-roll star!!!

  • @Musiclogic

Well, ya juat can't beat the Ayatollah of Rock n Rolla.

I use that movie line every chance I get. Some get it, some don't.

Aliens and Army of Darkness are great for quotes as well.Regards,

  • Back in the early 80's I walked into a small bar in the Netherlands, Amsterdam, I think, and there they were. Golden Earring in concert. I asked for and got a POSTER from that event. Still have it! The kind of thing that you tend to remember.

  • @Thelittlerocktim

Feelgood story....thanks for sharing it. My friend once got to hang with Marilyn Manson at a bar...said he was really cool and down-to-earth (go figure). Life's amazing sometimes.

  • George is using a Travis Bean guitar, aluminum neck. Played one once, was a great guitar.

  • One of the greatest rock hits of all time.

  • This bass is so fucking sexy

  • Aside from fun-loving hippies (I refer to The Beatles, the only good hippies), transvestites write the best music. You ask for proof? Feel free to click the play icon.

You enjoyed it, yes? Either you are really into transvestites, or I am totally correct.

  • @StudlyIronsides

Either that, or this was the norm for the time, and you're just obsessed with transvestites.

  • @hoopdedoo Just because there is a surplus of pigs at one time and very few at another does not mean they were not pigs then.

  • @StudlyIronsides

And what time period are you alleging has very few pigs? Now? Lol.

So you've switched your infatuation from transvestites to pigs.

It's pretty interesting that you call Golden Earring and anybody who likes this song a transvestite, when you've listed Queen as one of your favorite bands on your YT homepage.

Perhaps you really are a transvestite expert, Juice Lord.

(hey, what the heck is a Studly Ironsides, anyway? A buff Raymond Burr? ROTFLMFAO!)

  • @StudlyIronsides Hippies - YES. Transvestites? I think NOT.

  • Golden Earring are at the upper echelon of rock 'n roll

with The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, and

Led Zeppelin. They have been around longer than all

but The Beatles and their songwriting and musicianship

    are just as good.

  • such a good song

  • Had a gf who lived three hours away when this song was a hit

  • I can play that

  • Hold your breath.

    2) Copy all of these steps.

    3) Go to two other video.

    4) Paste it in the comments.

If you can do all of this without breathing you're a good pot smoker

  • This is Real Rock - n - Roll. Stands the test of time. Check out Moontan, too.

  • That car is epic.

  • Oh yeah, saw them open for King Crimson in Central Park in 1974.

  • This lineup of Golden Earring has been intact since 1970 and still going strong

  • wow...Rinus playing a vintage rickenbacker 4001.....didn't know he had one

  • Great song, Is he saying gaydar love?

  • @WID7 well seeing as the song is called radar love i am gonna say no,

  • Incredible fucking voice this guy's got. Great song.

  • King Georges Hall Blackburn Lancashire 1973

  • This one of my all-time favs!!!

  • Classic!!!

  • I think my sister has that shirt !

  • This is one of two videos of the same song, but showing different angles on some parts. This video includes the whole song, beginning and ending, and doesn't have the distortion at the 2:09 section. Great classic rock song, especially the bass and drumming!

  • Bring back the 70's that's what I say, I think the lead singer looks f*****g gorgeous if only men looked like this now?

  • @houndsbaybassets So funny ....Every guy I dated in high school looked like the lead singer and my dad hated it. He just couldn't understand why I had to date the long hair anemic muscian type. But that was back in the 70's. Things change and I guess I did eventually. But you are right he is cute.

  • Very good song. I like the style of this band. The bassline and drumline are incredible.

    Thank's

  • OMG! Haven't heard this in ages. thanx for the post!! Enjoyed!! ;-)

  • Brings me back to learning how to play guitar hero haha.

  • Driving down the road in my 70 Cuda with this on the cd player cranked to the max gotta love it.

  • I'm an australian truck driver, when i'm trying to "make a mile" in the wee small hours of the morning, and this comes on the radio, I crank it up, and get crackin', love it.

  • @vical87

Poor little kangaroos getting smooshed one after the other while you're crankin and crackin down the highway!

    :)

  • Super cool Rickenbacker 1999 bass (Rose-Morris), but not used on the actual recording. There leaning against the bass stacks (not actually on, or the thing would have been blown over!) is the famous Danelectro Longhorn bass that Rinus toured with so much. . . .but. . .also Not used on the actual recording. The actual bass on the studio track?

    (drum roll)

    A Gibson EB-3.

  • This is a great driving song.

  • @malasar14

Yeah, when you're driving through the american countryside with all windows open :)

  • Oh lord i feel old ppl...just found another one from my childhood...david essex...yeow that's crazy

  • @angelofpeace66...... from your childhood? Damn! I was driving around stoned in my '69 Roadrunner with this on an 8 track! Now, that's old!!

  • @072381Mack

'78 orange Mercury Bobcat with 8-track myself.

  • Great radio song. And the 70s may not be the 60s or the first half of the 80s but from '95 to now I hardly have a CD or download. Sister Havana by Urge Overkill is the last great song, imo

  • Love the funky bassline in the intro

  • The greatest intro of any song hands down.

  • I have always loved this song!!

  • this is my favorite track of all time i brought the single when it came out in1974 and have still got it

  • One of the greatest bass line call and response guitar lines Eva!

  • Great song!!! 5*****

  • saw 'em open up for KISS at the CAPITOL THEATER back when KISS only had their 1st album out in 74/75!

  • The best dashboard tune ever-saw them open for the Who in 73-74 and no one ever heard of them but they rocked the Garden.

  • wenn es noch in stereo gewesen währe

    dann 5sterne

  • The song will live on forever, their sense of style fortunately will not!

  • This sends me back to Junior High School...It's still one of the best driving songs!!....When I hear it on my car radio I can't help but roll down the window and drive faster...

  • me too.. htey should pay my tickets lol

  • I want to speed!!!

  • Cool the original clip of this masterpiece!!!

  • the definitive speed freaks anthem

  • Good job synchronizing the audio and video.

  • hell yeah, sounds great ty for sharing!

  • I saw these guys on a bill with Billy Joel and Procol Harum

  • the music of this band has been by my side since 1972. At some moment even the Stones fade away, but the Earring still kickin´ my ass when I´m down. So, please, hats off.

  • That's truly great song. And those outfits are cool on they own way.. ok maybe not :)

  • The definitive speed freak anthem

  • One of the few songs which is perrenial and goes from generation to generation. Always a regular in my DJ set ...

  • they re hot!!!!

  • What's with the pants and posturing?

  • Wow! Flashbacks. Moontan was the best stoner album ever. Well that and Genisis Nursery crimes

  • This reminds me of the 70's, painting motorcycle tanks and playing this to death!

  • great song but what a boring and stupid video

  • maybe you´re forgettin that this song is from the beginning of the ´70s, and the simple concept of a "videoclip" had to wait ten years to start workin.....

  • Sample By Bizzy Bone Father

  • one of my absolute favorites

  • ok so like that Guitar is WOW want one ...Joe Perry too!!!!!

  • Wait !!!! Joe has it in Califonia J A M !!

  • Wouldn't have minded seeing more of the other band members. Great song.

  • yeah...who cares??....this was the early 70's.....get over it kenp3L

  • Who cares about all that crap kenp, the music is all that matters.

Kick ass song, favorited and 5/5

  • Great song, stupid video. This is a drumming song, so they should have showed more of the drummer playing. The still glam shots were really dumb. Stupid clothing.

  • Bad look, even for 70's. Great fuckin tune, especially for 70's!

  • what does it matter about the looks?...it was the early 70's

  • it would've been cool if they had the 2 additional musicians in this vid....the sax player and additional guitar player...

  • They are the best dutch band at the 70's. And this is their best song. Thanks for posting the full version of this song.

    Michel

    The hague @ the netherlands
