  • Gee, honey! Never give up on a dream. I believe God puts into a heart what dream He creates just for you!

just Saturday, I got in the mail a big white envelope. On the bottom right corner a photo, of an American flag proudly swaying in the wind, over an old brick tower, with the nation's capitol dome in back. At top left is written Gallaudet, and in BIG bold letters of black on bottom left just this: CONGRATUALATIONS, YOU ARE IN!

You deserve this. Take the ACT test and maybe win scholarship!

  • Oh! I just found your video by accident and my heart broke - yet I was also deeply touched by your candidness. I thank YOU for being so honest here. Important important important message from a Deaf person that was denied the subject of the amazing film "Gallaudet" out of her parents' misinformation, fear, false pride, etc that was obviously created by the audist/ oralist hegemony.

I know it's not too late to experience the best the Deaf World has to offer and I hope u re finding it by now.

  • at the beginning of the film tree growing, tree never stop growing till it has been chopped down. that little tree inside you growing. so go to Gallaudet and visit or whatever. that tree will be greener with wise and life. I see that little sparkle in your eye. that you have the urge to visit.. so GO! make a plan!

  • Why don't you come here and visit Gallaudet and see if that is something you would like to do. Then people can help you out. That way you will feel satisfied just like me what I did. And I have been so grateful that I was able to attend Gallaudet and graduate there with a degree..

  • I was touched by your open and honest response to the Gallaudet Film. Thank you for sharing your feelings because it will make an impact on other parents/ and potential Gallaudet students. My hats off to you!

  • oh my dear, Gallaudet has wonderful Art major plus 9 different surrounding colleges, there are plethora places of art, scenary, museums, history. You may place your art opportunity in Europe "on hold"... Return to New York City, apply for VR services then go to Gallaudet for 2 to 4 years depending on your career plan. I can help you if you want. Your so young, I'll just say this to you, "Carpe Diem" smiles =D

  • I agree with you -- the experience at Gallaudet is NOTHING like what you get at a Hearing college (I went to one for my Ph.D.). It is sad that your parents would not let you go. I hope other parents will listen to your story and let their children go.

  • Thank you for this heartfelt video. Reminds me (and many others) not to take Gallaudet for granted. and for you -- Its never too late :).. Go! :)

  • Its never too late to go to Gallaudet. Go for it!!!

  • Thank you for sharing your honest feeling/thoughts. It is not too late for you to spread the words to others who may be in your shoes that their parents should be open and send their Deaf children to Gallaudet! Thanks again!

  • A wonderfully candid response from the heart... Like Ridor says, it is never too late to attend Gallaudet!!! You could still attend their Graduate programs for further study!!! I came to the USA from South Africa and got my masters in Administration from Gallaudet and have never regretted it... Good luck!!! -Paul.

  • Wow. This is heartbreaking and heartfelt vlog you ever made. I think it is good idea that you share the link of Gallaudet to your parents and at the same time, share this vlog to your parents so that they can realize how much they deprived you of this opportunity.

Again, it is never too late to attend Gallaudet. If you have the credentials, you can teach at Gallaudet and at the same time, pick up everything that you felt you lacked the most in the past?

    R-

  • @ridor9th Thank you for your beautiful comment.. yes I agree, except that I'm afraid it's too late to give it another try. I'm all way over to other side of world, too far away. Being art teacher in the future there would be a dream of mine though...

    Thanks again.
