Why repeat this? You were deleted and removed by the author once before! I have already told you about me and my career! Just read above! DUH!!! So....who's the dumbass now??
Funny how you mentioned Sony! I don't work for them. But my company is located across the street fromtheir studios in Culver City. Sometimes I get their clients in my studio for film, music, and TV shows.
Hey Dumb Fuck! Read above again!! I own the company in which means I'm the BOSS!!! DUH!!! And if you look way above where it mentioned that company is my production company, both film and music!! God...you are such a retard!! No wonder why you failed 1st grade! Believe me, you will never graduate in the way you're acting like a fool right now! Seriously Kid....you need help! I will be glad to pay for your brain surgery done by a bunch of monkeys! Got bananas?
Hey Fuckhead! How can I get on the subject when you cannot read, spell, and write??!! Just let me know when you pass first grade with an A....then hopefully you will read, spell, and write like a pro. In the meantime, watch Sesame Street and Electric Company. if you don't know what they are...ask your parents, if you have them! Now...can you say "Good" and "Bye" Oscar? p.s. I don't have a cheap ass job. I have an office career and own the company in which you will never have, Dumb Fuckhead!!!
Hey Kid! Wake me up when you pass first grade! Your grammar and spelling skills are terrible. You are NOT making any sense at all! "insluted sed"? What does that mean? You're stupid! Did your mother drop you when you were born? Seriously, you need to stay in school forever! Forget about your music career! Just get a job at McDonald's. I can see you wearing a clown outfit and flipping burgers over the hot burner! Therefore, honk your nose, Bozo, because you are a fool! Goodnight! Zzzzzzzzzz....
Wrong! The retard and stupid is YOU! I didn't change the statements and subject! You did! You were throwing it all over the place and getting me confused with your spelling and grammar skills. You were not making any sense at all. I can tell that you are a failing student in school. You need some help, Kid! By the way, Pearl is old but not American made! See? You know nothing but shit! Therefore, I didn't fail that argument because with your brain fading away right now, the world really don't need an idiot like you! Bye Little Shit!
Me...jealous? NOT! But you should because I own 4 drumsets! I have a 1964 4 piece Slingerland for my jazz band, a 1975 5 piece Rogers for rock, a 1984 11 piece double bass Ludwig for my metal band. and a 1999 6 piece Noble & Cooley for my studio. You are really supporting American economy! Go back to school and get educated!
Hey Dickhead! I'm 45 and you are a bratty kid playing a shitty drumset that is made in China. Now you do the math and go back 30 to 40 years when drums were made of real wood and built in USA! I was there and you weren't! So shut the fuck up and go back to school and learn to spell and write, Little Shit! SPELL: you're...not your! SPELL: something...not sumthing! SPELL: tried...tryed! SPELL: because...not becuz! Please save us from misery and stay in class! Music World is better off without you!
How do you know? You are nothing but an amateur! Besides you are too young to remember the real drums factories that WERE made in USA back in the 1970's! You have no clue about the drums! So I suggest you to give up your generic drumest that made in China and play with some old American made pots and pans, Little Shit!
I think the newes drums from Premier still got it, but nothing beats the old vintage sound from the older classic kit's. Could have given anything in the world for an old Ludwig Maple kit with an 18" bass drum. They are awesome. Espesially for Bop. Sorry for my bad english. Norwegian you know :P
I had a 1972 5 piece red sparkled Ludwig with Zildjian cymbals for Xmas when I was 8 years old. That set wooed the crowd and the girls when I played in the middle school jazz band 5 years later. Then I won 4 Drummer of the Year awards in high school as well. In the 80's, I toured with 5 bands in USA with it. These days, nobody plays the old school sounds of Gretesh, Ludwig, Rogers, Slingerland, and Sonor anymore because they want the new loud trashy sounds of DW, Pearl, Tama and Yamaha! Sucks!
Damn you really get down. I'm sure you can be in just about any type of band you want. Check out his Chicago cover if you haven't. It's amazing. I love your videos.
Hey An...(and thanks to you other commenters...I appreciate the kindness)...check out the drum tour at my main channel, it gives the details of the gear. Thanks for watching all!
Thanks my man, I appreciate it. Yeah, if the snare doesn't feel right, whatever you happen to like...makes it hard to get into it. Thanks again man...:) Take care...
Thanks my man...I appreciate it. I went and listened...great stuff, left a couple comments. Keep it up, just keep at it, hour after hour...and listen/play to music. It's where the soul of the drums is...in the music. Rock on my man, rock ON. :)
Sounds great, I'm working on solo's and so I've listened to alot of people's style's and I this is great, I hope I can sound half as good as you do, keep up the good work dude.
That's a very kind thing to say, thank you. You keep workingat it, you'll not only sound as good, you'll go beyond me. Keep it up my man! And take care...:)
Haha...ok, thanks. So he's fast on dbl bass...yeah, I'm still sort of a wimp on dbl bass, only started fooling with it since I started playing alone in the basement after all that time off. Dbl bass has SO much potential. I love it. Hey, thanks for the heads up...:)
Hes not just fast, hes maybe the fastest ive seen, hes also tiny. Should check him out, but on the main note, that was really good mate, really enjoyed it
Hey Kross...I don't know much about him, but some of these guys who can fire off dbl bass with control...wish I had some of the intensity in my bag of tricks. On the other hand...you're right, if they overuse it, it can get a little monotonous. Anyway...Hey, thanks for stopping by...& thanks for listening. Take care man...:)
He definitely influenced my heart and feel for drums...of all the drum wizards out there, current and departed, he is my favorite. Maybe not as technical or fast as, say, Buddy Rich, or Vinnie Colaiuta, but rock FEEL...power? Hands down, I line up behind ol' John. Always will. Hey, thanks for such a kind thing to say, I appreciate it. You keep rockin too my man...:)
:) That's very kind of you to say that...I don't know, believe it or not, it's sort of hard to remember exactly how I sounded then, what my tricks were, etc. I do know I was more confident then. Anyway...thanks for stopping by my man...and keep smokin' with your own style...you rock too!
It's actually bass/2 snares/4 rack toms/floor tom, so that's 8...plus a couple roto-toms & a couple spare snares. Cymbals is 12 plus the hats. Haha...overall, TOO MANY! Back when I was pro I only used a smaller portion of this setup. Right now I like the luxury of having lots of gear and not moving it. Anyway, take care my man...and thanks again. :)
Basically to keep my already damaged ears (years of amps & PA's) from getting any worse. I haven't bothered to enclose the area with dampening material, so it's acoustically very wet and bright. Younger ears find it even more abrasive. Also it makes the drums and PA sound deeper and fuller to me...so I get more feel. I really need to put up some blankets or something...anyway, thanks for listening...:)
Actually I don't know too much about them other than the fact that they're excellent drums. I know you're gonna love them...maybe do some research on the internet about them...Anyway, have fun playing them...:)
:) Thanks my man......mostly just a lot of experimenting, adjustments, etc. Yes, modern drums are built so much more precisely, but my old friends still sound ok. Just keep adjusting and experimenting...you'll find the sound you like. Take care, my man...
Hey and salute to the U.K.! Thanks for the compliment and re. the Queen, I'll add it to my list of reuests...been so busy lately. Anyway, thankss for watching...:)
sick stuff man... i love the setup. hard to find people with a similar one as mine. you shoud check out some of my videos for some inspiration. 5/5 stars!
Thanks Esaun...very kind of you. Sorry about the long wait to reply...either YouTube or my mail carrier is dropping the ball intermittently on notifying me of comments. In any case, thank you kindly for watching...:)
not to criticize cuz i suck at drums, but i've seen people put pillows in there bass drum, idk what that does but it makes it sound much better... also thats a pretty wicket solo now lets see a blast beat. lol
Blast beat? This old man? I'm too lazy. :) hahaha...yes, I've done all sorts of things for bass drum muffling, it's just that lately I've been wanting it to be as LOUD as I can get it, so I took out the heavy muffling from inside. I'll probably go the other direction after awhile...hey, nice to hear from you again...
Well I appreciate that Charles. If you're a shockjock dj, you've probably listened to boatloads of music & your compliment means a lot. I tend to be a lazy drummer for speed, but over the top for power. Kinda weird when you think about it. Anyway, I appreciate it, and thanks for watching...
I just visited your channel, and in your favorites...that drummer Assaf Seewi. First time I've ever watched this guy. Haha, makes me want to just hang up my sticks. Thanks again for watching...
Great! The chops might get a little rusty but they never go! Get out there and gig, man. Too many crappy drummers out there now. Show them a little old school!
Hey Lehmann108..., smiling...your words are kind. Thanks so much. The drummers out there, yes, and there are some impressive ones too. I'm always amazed at the wide range of talent that's all around us. Thank you much for listening...and take care!
wow your amazing so you havnt been playing for 18 years then you start drumming with such a great come back let me say it again your an amzing drummer!!!
lol, i thought about it. pulled out the phone book looking for music stores to buy strings. hell, my tubes (amp) are at least 20 years old. strings are broken and about 18 years old. it would take me 3 to 4 hours every day, for 30 days, to get back to where i was. i'm thinking about it. nice playing.
I know what you mean. And blisters! I was reintroduced to blisters since my calluses were all gone. Since I still don't play regularly, I still get 'em. The Vertigo cover I posted is the latest...I think I did 2 or 3 takes & kept the one I thought was best -- got a big blister on my left thumb from it. It's now flat but still hasn't disappeared! Haha. You should start again though, you'll feel good about it. And thanks again for listening...
Hey again Mad...I appreciate that. I guess we all have something to contribute, but man, some of the drum wizards out there...CRAP! hahaha...practice, practice, practice! Thanks for listening Mad...and keep rockin' yourself.
are those zildjans (sp ck). they sound good. i played percusion in high school, play guitar now. well.....havn't picked up a guitar in 15 years. nice job. i havn't been inspired to play in the last 18 years. that might change soon if vanroth can make a new record, lol. nice job, for an old man, lol.
Hey there...back in the day I used only Zildjians, lots of brand loyalty; but now, just playing in the basement, I use anything that sounds good to me and doesn't break my wallet. About 75% Zildjian, but also Paiste, Sabian, even Wuhan/World Percussion. Hey, start playing again just for the hell of it. And thanks for listening to this old man! :)
Oh man...you don't know how good that makes me feel because I'm so impressed by your guitar playing. When I first heard you play (Smoke on the Water, Made in Japan, solo cover) I was thinking oh man, how I wish I was in a band with THAT guy. Thanks again for being so kind...
Thanks Chubysant! So many excellent drummers out there...I appreciate the kind comments (and my drums say thanks too:) No videos available from back then...but thanx for listening chu...
Maybe I shouldn't try to give the impression "back in the day..." It's not that I knew more, it's that my aim was more accurate, my speed was better, and most importantly, my meter didn't have some of the subtle fluctuations I'm hearing now. Stamina was also virtually inexhaustible then. I'm actually surprised I lost as much rust as I have, because a few years ago when I set up my kit for the first time in over 15 years, I literally felt like a non-drummer (continued next msg).
The only way I could get even a glimmer of feel was by hitting HARD...but my hands could only take about 4 or 5 minutes of that before they froze up. It was terrible. I remember going out on the deck to have a smoke (I quit around 3 years ago) and thought, "What the hell have I done? I can't play anymore." But most of it came back pretty quickly, minus some of the smoothness, consistency, stamina, and aim. Started playing around with a double pedal though...that's been cool.
dude, you are awesome and my estonian friends are thinking the same :)

Thanks Esaun...very kind of you. Sorry about the long wait to reply...either YouTube or my mail carrier is dropping the ball intermittently on notifying me of comments. In any case, thank you kindly for watching...:)

Great solo Johnathan! I especially love what you do 2.56 - 3.13. Very inventive, smooth and professional!

Thank you my man...it means a lot to me coming from such a natural-feel talented professional like you. As always, thanks for stopping by Frank...:)
lowflyer55 4 years ago
not to criticize cuz i suck at drums, but i've seen people put pillows in there bass drum, idk what that does but it makes it sound much better... also thats a pretty wicket solo now lets see a blast beat. lol
erat91 4 years ago

I think everyone should learn from this. This is a perfect example of what drumming is all about. awesome job!
shockjock35 4 years ago
Well I appreciate that Charles. If you're a shockjock dj, you've probably listened to boatloads of music & your compliment means a lot. I tend to be a lazy drummer for speed, but over the top for power. Kinda weird when you think about it. Anyway, I appreciate it, and thanks for watching...
lowflyer55 4 years ago
I just visited your channel, and in your favorites...that drummer Assaf Seewi. First time I've ever watched this guy. Haha, makes me want to just hang up my sticks. Thanks again for watching...

Great! The chops might get a little rusty but they never go! Get out there and gig, man. Too many crappy drummers out there now. Show them a little old school!
Lehmann108 4 years ago
Hey Lehmann108..., smiling...your words are kind. Thanks so much. The drummers out there, yes, and there are some impressive ones too. I'm always amazed at the wide range of talent that's all around us. Thank you much for listening...and take care!

That means a lot coming from you...I've seen your videos and I'm extremely impressed. I appreciate your kind words...and thanks for listening...

lol, i thought about it. pulled out the phone book looking for music stores to buy strings. hell, my tubes (amp) are at least 20 years old. strings are broken and about 18 years old. it would take me 3 to 4 hours every day, for 30 days, to get back to where i was. i'm thinking about it. nice playing.
theratfarmer 4 years ago
I know what you mean. And blisters! I was reintroduced to blisters since my calluses were all gone. Since I still don't play regularly, I still get 'em. The Vertigo cover I posted is the latest...I think I did 2 or 3 takes & kept the one I thought was best -- got a big blister on my left thumb from it. It's now flat but still hasn't disappeared! Haha. You should start again though, you'll feel good about it. And thanks again for listening...

PRO PLAYING you are seriously good!
madgaff 4 years ago
Hey again Mad...I appreciate that. I guess we all have something to contribute, but man, some of the drum wizards out there...CRAP! hahaha...practice, practice, practice! Thanks for listening Mad...and keep rockin' yourself.

are those zildjans (sp ck). they sound good. i played percusion in high school, play guitar now. well.....havn't picked up a guitar in 15 years. nice job. i havn't been inspired to play in the last 18 years. that might change soon if vanroth can make a new record, lol. nice job, for an old man, lol.
theratfarmer 4 years ago
Hey there...back in the day I used only Zildjians, lots of brand loyalty; but now, just playing in the basement, I use anything that sounds good to me and doesn't break my wallet. About 75% Zildjian, but also Paiste, Sabian, even Wuhan/World Percussion. Hey, start playing again just for the hell of it. And thanks for listening to this old man! :)
lowflyer55 4 years ago
HA-HA!! You're really great and I think you've got a lot of feels... :D
I'm just a guitarist but I don't care, also I love your drumming.
delawellsoulmusic 4 years ago
Oh man...you don't know how good that makes me feel because I'm so impressed by your guitar playing. When I first heard you play (Smoke on the Water, Made in Japan, solo cover) I was thinking oh man, how I wish I was in a band with THAT guy. Thanks again for being so kind...

lowflyer55 4 years ago
damn that's a shame
i can't imagine the way you play when you were at your best
chubysant 4 years ago
Maybe I shouldn't try to give the impression "back in the day..." It's not that I knew more, it's that my aim was more accurate, my speed was better, and most importantly, my meter didn't have some of the subtle fluctuations I'm hearing now. Stamina was also virtually inexhaustible then. I'm actually surprised I lost as much rust as I have, because a few years ago when I set up my kit for the first time in over 15 years, I literally felt like a non-drummer (continued next msg).
lowflyer55 4 years ago
The only way I could get even a glimmer of feel was by hitting HARD...but my hands could only take about 4 or 5 minutes of that before they froze up. It was terrible. I remember going out on the deck to have a smoke (I quit around 3 years ago) and thought, "What the hell have I done? I can't play anymore." But most of it came back pretty quickly, minus some of the smoothness, consistency, stamina, and aim. Started playing around with a double pedal though...that's been cool.
