@InnuendoXP Have you tried AssaultTech? It's from the same developers as MekPak and available from MekTek.com. It takes a lot of inspiration from MW2, but it's still in relatively early phases of development (No multiplayer, even.)

OMG this brings back so many memories!! I remember this was the first computer game I ever beat... I was probably 7 or 8 at the time. I still remember trying to squeeze 5 PPCs and heat sinks onto my Timberwolf! I still have the Mech 2 and Ghost Bear's Legacy disks... except I can't get them to run on Windows 7... dang!

Here's what happens when I try to play Mechwarrior 3.

The best I can hope for is that all the tanks/humvees will be hopping along the road, but that I can manage.

Or the enemy mechs falling through the ground. Or they jump really high up and fall down to their deaths while I'm trying to shoot them. Or I go 100 feet upward and crash back down and there goes MY leg.

that is if it doesn't simply crash on like level 5.

Not to mention I have to play in software mode.

The thing I always liked was how some of the mechs were based off of stuff from Robotech. To me it was like the best of two worlds. (The Marauder was based off of the Officer's Pod, the Hellbringer was based off of the Tomahawk Destroid, there were a few others too)

@Cantemes yeah, and they got into a lawsuit over it, and now those designs are considered "Unseen".

Actually, it was the Warhammer (not IIC but IIC is still close) that was based off of the Tomahawk Destroid, the Hellbringer just uses an extremely similar design.

Strangely enough, despite looking almost exactly the same, but with different arms, it's not considered "Unseen" AFAIK, but I could be wrong.

@CrazyEnzo03 No, I don't believe it is. It's just barely different enough to be ok. Also, I believe the Rifleman is also one of the "Unseen", I can't remember the name of the destroid it shares a model with though.

The original Rifleman is indeed an Unseen.

ummm, no, the Hellbringer's arms ARE long gun barrels. It has the same arms - at least in the artwork for it's primary configuration - as the Timber Wolf's/Mad Cat's. Now the body (outside of the head) looks almost identical to a Warhammer, but that's about it.

@Barricade Those aren't very long in comparison to the Warhammer/Tomahawk Destroid design.

Upon closer inspection I can see the legs are more different than I first believed.

That being said I'm wondering why the version of the Warhammer shown in the Mechwarrior reboot trailer (the game probably won't end up getting released anyway) was forced to be nixed, seeing as it looked further from the Tomahawk Destroid than the Hellbringer.

Keep in mind this isn't spam, you can usually find this at any torrent site, all you need is a torrent client like Vuze or Frostwire to download it and it's yours.
