@Guinepigsrock To be honest i would,nt recommend it , have a look at my Fuji AV100 ,its a cheaper camera and lot better quality imo.

It only has 128mb internal, so i bought a 4gb card which gives approx 576 12mb Pics or about 16/20 mins of HD Movie.

Thanks - I got the camera yesterday in the mail and wow! I am so impressed. It is amazingly fast at taking pictures. My only complaint is how loud the zoom is when filming. Oh well, I still love the quality of the video - I just won't plan to zoom that much. Now, I just have to get a memory card. Thanks for the response.

They only offered black here in France, but it is a sturdy camera to be sure. Yes, it is the perfect camera really! I have a fancy Nikon D40, but it is so damn slow that my baby is done smiling by the time the camera decides to actually capture the image! This Lumix takes the picture immediately! I love it!

Maybe just for my dvd vids Kev,

the encoding it uses is Jpeg Motion and the files are huge. But then i encode to Mpeg4 which is about a quarter of the size.
