What you say about the poor economic policies of Bush caused this are completely wrong as this was an issue Bush and McCain both wanted to correct over the last 5 years. Most financial experts say that Fannie & Freddie had little impact on the current bank failings. It was the deregulation that almost gave us another Great Depression - championed by Phil Gramm, McCain, Keating, etc. Look it up at PolitiFact or FactCheck[dot]org.
