I'm wondering why they released him. One loss. I'm not a fan but hes a worthy opponent and brings some serious power to a fight. Anyone get an answer from Dana White on this one?
FUCK ESPN.. they don't give 2 shits bout ufc or mma. they might play an exciting highlight once in a while, and mma live at 4am bi-monthly, but since NY hasnt sanctioned MMA as a sport (WTF?!??!), espn acknowledges MMA bout as much as lacrosse or water polo.
And his arm was not on his Adams Apple, it was across his chest, blocking him from pulling him in close, Gerald is a master of slams, and he doesn't fight dirty
I've seen Gerald multiple times and even though he barely knows me he is always a class act to run into when I am out and about, nothing but nice things to say about the guy and I wish him the best in life. He deserves a shot at being something great in the MMA world.

In a few cases they do and this is one of them because of the nature of knockout. Other fights, such as the Dan Hardy vs Carlos Condit fight, he knocked him out with one punch, but sometimes the ground wakes the fighter up, so he followed up with a few punches and confirmed the knockout. It goes both ways.

@Bashallequally there is a difference between killer instinct and hitting someone who is already out. look at rampage vs wanderlei. rampage though a punch while the referee was pushing him away, do you really think he was doing it cause he thought wanderlei might get back up? he was doing it because of the hate between them.

@SCR1V5CCFC i agree, but you gotta keep going until the ref stops it. It takes a very experienced fighter to know that someone is completely out. Sometimes you see people recover from these types of slams.
