An old friend said to me, "Frank Marino is the white Hendrix". He met Frank @ a $1.97 concert in Jax Fla...Good times Kevin! Jammin' to Mahogany Rush and Kiss...
Everyone expects him to come out shredding his ass off. He's taking you along on a journey with just his guitar, the recording quality isn't the best but just close your eyes and listen.
The 27 people who liked this video were out of their minds on acid. I loved MR in high school and pulled out my albums just the other day (low and behold I also found a big fat one right along with the mix!) It brought back lots of memories.....good stuff. This video sucks ass and it sounds more like fingernails on a chalkboard....yikes!
@hpygolkyone Yes the audio blows. All I can say is that for true FM fans, you had to have been there and it is really frustrating to not be able to present audio in HQ along with the video. With what I had to work with, it is really frustrating to share the impact of what Frank presented to the world from Austin, Texas USA and without interference from security or HQ. Thank you for checking out the posting :)
cant hear anything this video is garbage. How come the home videos made in thwe 70 and 80s cound better than anything in this decade? what a joke get a vid recorder that works !
The tour name was Rock & Roll Marathon"...the newspapers said it was more like a sprint since the opening bands played about 30 to 40 minutes...When it came to Atlanta's Omni, Frank was swapped to a supporting slot behind home town Mother's Finest and was pretty ticked most of the night....Marriott's new version of Humble Pie was pretty good, but one of Frank's better gigs....
'77 and '78 to be exact judging from the release date. Starts off with a version of "Electric Reflections Of War" and after quite a few things to " World Anthem" and then some. Excellent stuff!
This starts off with the Guit War solo off of the Child of the Novelty album into some other things.
Seemed like Frank did a album a year for the longest time. I always looked forward to them because I knew they would be great. I was never disappointed!
Interesting, I was there. The Battle of the Bands tour. Mothers Finest, Angel, Steve Marriot's band, I can't remember their name, and Marino. To this day I have seen anyone as relaxed with a guitar as Marino. What he did with a guitar was out of this world.
I saw him for the first time in Omaha, NE last month. I am now a lifelong fan, as if I wasn't already from the recordings, but he tore that city down. He just came out and played. No BS. No posing. The REAL DEAL! I've still got goosebumps just thinking about that concert. If you are into the guitar, you HAVE to see this guy. Unlike anything you will ever see.

I don't recall ever seeing a pickguard like that on an SG before? This performance is quite sad.... What happened Frank?

Too retro-Maybe it sounds better if you are stoned out of your mind on acid or something but its not my thing

lol, maybe you should be notafraidofthepast, also!
At a guess, Frank wrote/performed this over 30 years ago.
This set is somewhat expected by FM followers when seen live.
