  • a typical nerd with an ipad and a not typical chick who "reads" a book in kindle through sunglasses .... by the swimming pool ;D yeah , right!

  • i have none. seems i am doing fine ;D

  • @707BLACKDEVIL707 The point of this advertisement is about reading in bright light, which is near impossible on an iPad.

A kindle is black and white? Yes, as are Books...what is your point?

Judging from your atrocious spelling and use of the English language, books and literature are alien to you, how sad.

  • STFU kindle iPad is way fucken better reason y ppl could read a kindle it's cuz of the crapy screen and because it's in black and white lol

  • Wow ,really kindle? I bet they don't realize that you can turn up the lighting on the freakin ipad.

And plus, look at kindles sucky look, The ipad is way more creative and has both games AND reading apps for books. And did you now the kindle was made right after the ipad? :o "OOOOOOOoooooooooooooh look! its the ipad! Lets copy off of it but make it smaller lighter and suckyer!"Says a worker for the creator of kindle

  • No epub - no deal.

  • I was going to buy a kindle, but I don't want to be a status obsessed cunt.

  • First thing that came to mind was LEGS

Second thing that came to mind was TITS

    then the commercial ended

  • @iChrisausfag that's not the reason people buy it, the kindle is smaller and more compact. It's also thinner and lighter. The iPad isn't that bad to read on in the sunlight(I have both so I know) but the kindle doesn't strain your eyes as much...

  • Ipad 2 = porn hube , redtube , xhamster ,etc

    kindle 3 = ebooks

  • "excuse me, where is your book"

...I spent all my money on condoms so I can fuck the hottie in the black bikini all weekend. I guess her $140 was a waste of money :)

  • Who knew Amazon could be pretentious?

  • Oh my god the amount of childish behaviour in the comments below is really getting on my nerves. I have a kindle and an iPad, I take both on holidays, etc because when I want to watch movies, tv shows, listen to my prussic, browse the web or play games, I want my iPad, but when I want to read, I want my kindle. The kindle is a far superior e reader to the iPad, and that's coming from an Apple fanboy. And I bet iChris isn't rich. Just some 8 year old kid trying to piss the Internet off.

  • The Kindle looks like it's for working.

The ipad looks like it's for porn.

  • @2011blueman if you really did own any of those apple products, you would not say that iPad sucks. The truth is that iPad sets the benchmark for the entire tablet industry and that is a fact. It's proven alone by the fact that iPad was the first tablet device to really kick off the entire tablet market. Not only that, kindle is a Ebook reader, and not a very good one at that. Also, iPad was never advertised as being a laptop computer, netbook, computer or otherwise. It's a tablet, a companion I

  • "excuse me, how are you reading that? ..in this light?"

    "it's a book .. 13 dollars"

  • @aprildee75 haha. Well done.

  • @aprildee75 The difference is a kindle's a library, not just a book.

  • @iChrisausfag - I think people that buy ipads are morons. They're nothing but big versions of the iphone that aren't very portable. They don't have the capabilities of a notebook, they aren't even close to the reading abilities of the kindle, and they're heavy. I'm not too poor to have an ipad (I own a mac pro, a macBook pro, an iphone, and a kindle). Ipads are for poor people who can't afford a macbook that weighs the same and has more capabilities. Also, ipads charge you for the 3G.

  • @iChrisausfag How about the battery life because it's not backlit, then, rich person?

  • @iChrisausfag i m rich and i read books... i don t have an macbook or ipad ( just iphone s and ipod s) because i don t have to show everybody HOOOW rich i am ... wake up

  • @ReDtOmAtOsTyLe

I highly doubt you are rich, with spelling and grammar such as yours, I would not be at all surprised if your mummy or daddy bought you those products.

  • @iChrisausfag i speak french, spanish german and english and you?

  • paid more for the sunglasses, stupid a

  • When it comes to reading books, the Kindle is much better than the iPad of course. It's made for ebook reading. But the iPad does more. I personally love my Kindle & would not buy the over-priced iPad, but this commercial is kind of silly.

  • Why is it that men are ALWAYS portrayed more stupid and women presented smarter in this kind of Ads? Is it some kind of an unwritten socially and politically correct way to undermine men?

  • The true meaning of this advert. If you are dumb enough to buy a Kindle then you are dumb enough to pay over $139 for a pair of sun glasses.

  • @TBOTSS Versace sunglasses are worth it and I wouldn't mind buying an iPad if it was worth anything... it is a lot of things, but not an ebookreader, there really isn't any competition here. So don't mind... the real target audience for iPads shouldn't be offended by this.

  • How many of us read a book on sun?

  • @krecikowi I should imagine that no one could "read on sun" as you would probably burn to a crisp within a nano second! XD

  • well isn't she arrogant

  • You paid over $139 for a pair of sunglasses?? What a rip off

  • @PZComady depends on your pockets and if you have enough, if you care about style. Some do.

  • Psnh, try comparing the two reading at night.

  • @chemkev123 You can always attach a small light or use the integrated light in the leather cover by amazon, but you can't put the sun away.

  • What moron spends that much for sunglasses. That's really what this video is about.

  • HA!

  • I heard a bleep after the sentence "I actually paid more for these sunglasses" :D

  • Ok kindle is stupid, problem w/ you guys is, is thT your comparing a device that does multimedia ,to a device that dies really few things that has e ink technology so bad comparison, plus the iPad isn't the only tablet, plus who tja fick reads at day tome at the pool lol, respectfully

  • LOL! His backlight looks like it's turned down all the way!

  • I like that that's the only argument you could come up with, AmaGONE.

  • This is typical Kindle, a company with so little imagination and creativity all they can do is pick holes in other peoples designs (can't even see why they are comparing the two - the iPad is not for reading, I see far more kindles on the tube than iPads).

I Can't believe the adverts like this exist in the states, I've seen a few other 'comparison' adverts and they're so tacky, anyone with any knowledge on the subject cam just see right through them!

  • @skisupremo It's not a attack on iPad or any other device, it just shows that reading a LCD screen in direct sunlight is impossible to say the least. It is kinda dumb but they know their audience!

  • losers... go swim!

  • Kindle is king! Only an idiot would buy an iPad, which is basically a downgrade of a laptop. The Kindle is actually DESIGNED for reading e-Books, and is good for your eyes! This commercial is great.

  • @TheChirpingAssholes good disciplinary tool...keeps you off the dumb videos and games that ipad sucks you into....can't wait t'get my kindle.

  • that girl looks kinda fammiliar is that amy jo johnson from power rangers?

  • @Blondesarecute417 whoever she is, she look good dog

  • i like to listen to music in the background when i'm reading. the Ipad can do that, and oh look, the kindle can't

that is why i have the ipad

also, the screen brightness was turned way down in this commercial, if it was up, it would be just as good as the kindle.

  • @yankeefan610 Actually, you can read a book and listen to music with the Kindle. Plus if you crank the brightness all the way up on the iPad it still doesn't look good if it's a bright day.

Then again, I rarely use my Kindle or iPad outside, so this whole commercial is moot to me.

  • @yankeefan610 You don't read much, do you? IPad is a nice thing for multimedia, surfing, videos, etc. But if you don't just read comics and children books... NO WAY!

  • @yankeefan610 You don't read much, do you? IPad is a nice thing for multimedia, surfing, videos, etc. But if you don't just read comics and children books... NO WAY! It's a lie...

  • @jniquille kindle for ipad ftw

  • @ElmokillaXDK

Kindle for IPad is no solution for the Ipad's screen's glare in sunlight. I doesn't make the IPad a real usable eReader. People who read know that.

  • @jniquille hmm i dont sit in the sun and cook myself and read at the same time the only thing i hate bout the ipad is weight i would buy a kindle but i got a ipad as a gift

  • @yankeefan610 Yes it can. I received on for christmas. I can also surf the web on it. Kindle 3G.

  • How about Kindle vs iPad indoors, at night, when most people have the time to read, with the lights off? Kindle has battery life and finer text over the iPad as an e-reader, and price, that is all.

  • too bad i'm in canada... guess i'll get the sony 650 instead.

  • This is an ad for kindle? Sorry I didn't notice the kindle.....or the iPad....or anything else.

  • Comment removed

  • Anti-glare screen protectors?

  • wow the kinndle can read a book what else can it do that the ipad can

  • @drquinfoster Go on the internet, play music, play games...

  • @drquinfoster

yes, the Kindle is MADE FOR PEOPLE WHO LIKE BOOKS.

if you dont like to read books and preffer to play games or surf the internet, go for the Ipad.

Your question is like comparing a book (real) with a computer! What else can a book do, that a computer can?

  • Here is one way to comfortably use the iPad in direct sunlight 1) Use white on black mode 2) maximum brightness 3) polarized sunglasses 4) move the iPad around for best angles. Below is an example. I would view the HD version in full screen youtube /watch?v=NksXmYdji1A

  • excuse me....how are you watching the video on youtube?...oh it's my ipad

  • @charliehopkins1 Excuse me... how dumb are you?... oh you're retarded.

The main thing why Kindle got made was for reading.

  • it is nice but i think the reasonable price should be about us$60

  • yeah. somebody would definitely buy an ipad over a kindle just to read.

  • Why would anyone pay $139 for something that fulfills the exact same function as a book? Thats all it does. Yes, I am posting this from my iPad.

  • @SpasticAbasia

You can download over 200 ebooks for free in Amazon (and over 600 in the Gutenberg Project), each that would cost a minimum of $1 in real life (used books) and take up space in your room. $200 (Amazon books) - $139 = $61 saved. Plus, if you erase a book it's always in your Amazon account so no matter where you use the kindle program (windows, mac, android, iphone, etc) you won't be charged twice for a book you already own. The e-ink is just like paper; and it has a a USB cable.

  • who pays more than 139$ for sunglasses OMG !

  • @Soulquarium You guys do realise that this is not a documentary, right? It's an advertisement aimed at giving you information about the product. The people are ACTORS.

  • Kindle is for reading ebooks, the iPad is not. End of story.

  • It's just a commerical, it's not implying that women or that men are better than one another. It was simply trying to show you the most important difference between a Kindle and an iPad.

  • he just cant read with these boobs sorry sunlight.

  • The Kindle has a great screen for reading almost anywhere, but don't ever drop the damn thing. It breaks much too easily.

  • What a she-cock :D

  • If I was that dude I would take that kindle and throw it into the pool then slap her on the back of the head for being a smart ass then say to her......now it;s 139 bucks in the pool.

But the kindle is a neat device!

  • And that boy's and girls is the lamest pick up line ever. And who in the hell sun tans with their shirt on?

  • THIS SHIT SHOULD BE ON TV!!!!

  • You know how I know you're gay?

    You have an iPad.

  • Woman smart!

    Man dumb!

    barf

  • @krackato Man smart

Woman dumb for spending more than $20 on sunglasses

  • I have both iPad and Kindle. It is true that iPad in a brightly lit environment would Amazon's Kindle has a surface that reads and feels much more like real paper, which is actually far more comfortable to extended and lengthy reading. It's something that many people don't realize how big of a difference it makes.

About Amazon, I recently came across an interesting table that details the discounts on Amazon.

    It is at uberi.com

Maybe someone will find it useful too.

  • hkj

  • Fan boys whine. :o)

  • Please pull this ad. First, I don't know why anyone would bring their iPad to the pool. Second, I'm fed up with ads that depict men and dads as dopes, incompetents, and buffoons to sell a product. And I don't mean that woman should fill that roll either.

  • I have both and enjoy reading on the iPad over the kindle. It feels more natural and I read faster. Making annotations, notes and highlights are easier. I will probably use both with iPad my main device and the kindle reserved for the beach and other places where condtions may be hazardous for iPad.

  • I actually like the jo-schmo persona of the guy more than the snooty upper-class rich girl with overly priced sunglasses...i'll stick on the side that i relate to.

  • @dimebagforever81787 I suppose she implied her sunglasses costed more then her KIndle. (der) But hence the glasses were cheap too.

  • I love the iPad for many reasons, but you can't argue that reading on it in bright sunlight is anywhere as good as on Kindle without being a total Apple fanboy / fangirl.

  • Hey, how is it your browsing the Web in Color?

Oh I can do Web, Mail, TV Shows, Movies, iPod, iTunes, 250,000+ apps, Notes, Maps, Calendars, Contacts, Word Processing, Presentations, Spreadsheets, etc.

For about the price you paid for that Kindle and your overpriced sunglasses...

  • @MiIlertime

but you're also a total douche about it.

  • @MiIlertime Your point? I love my iPad, but I know where credit is due, and the Kindle does what it does better then the iPad can do. That being reading eBooks. Keep in mind they are 2 different types of devices for different purposes.

  • @MiIlertime Well, that's nice. The kindle however is much more comfortable when it comes to reading text (like in books... which is its main purpose). Reading large amounts of text on a backlit screen like the iPad or any other LCD is really not comfortable at all for hours on end, while the kindle feels a lot like reading on paper.

  • Reading in sunlight on the iPad is definitely possible - a white page with brightness all up and you get no glare at all. Still, it's better in the shade. I buy books and ebooks from Amazon all the time but there's no way they will ever sell me a Kindle ;)

  • @sinophilia - I am right with you, pal. If it's not made by Apple, Bang & Olufsen of Audi... it's not a gadget worth having.

  • @Gr8Dane78 So you don't have a TV? Game console of any kind? Let alone other appliances? Barebones house ya got there. ha. I love Apple, and Audi but I need other gadget as well to live my average day. :D

  • The brightness on the iPad was turn all the way down. I have no problem reading on my iPad in the sunlight. Amazon is just jealous!

  • @SIMNO240sx Of what exactly?

  • hehe... looks like Kindle's got on some fightin' gloves! :o)

  • @SchalaKid i LOVE those homo nose smileys!!

  • @joerob934 Well, you're very welcome, joe. :o)

  • @SchalaKid HOW DO YOU KNOW MY NAAMMEEE??? oh yeah..... youtube name :S
