  • I mastered the tornado kick on my first try. strangely from watching videos of if alot but the coolest one i seen was the 720 tornado kick i think thats what its called.

  • the way i learned it, you jump while kicking and land on the foot u kicked with (yes its an extremely advanced kick, i can do a wushu butterfly kick but not a tornado kick)

  • thanks for the 45 knee tip!!

  • Aaah yet another technique that I was doing in the old style.

  • better than expert village.

  • My favorite kick

  • @totenkopf2221 This is my favorite kick to do too. ;-)

  • @staciejwhite Got a fellow tonado kicker here

  • Pish..Pish...

  • That point about pointing the non-kicking knee 45 degrees outward is REALLY helpful. I was also throwing the kick too early. Great technical pointers! I was struggling with doing tornado crescents (when I wanted a tornado roundhouse) for a while until I saw those details. Thanks!

(tornado crescents are not as powerful, and it seems to me that they are also not good for your knees. Crescent kicks put torque on the knee in a direction it is not supposed to turn)

  • This reminds me of re5

  • ahhh i keep on doing tornado cresents

  • round house?...

  • any good practitioner of tae kwon do know very well kick with both legs, especially with the left, go over train your Joe Bloggs.

  • Hello, I want to ask, I am training a Muay Thai like for a 3-4 months, I can kick High, really high, I can hit hard with my legs, But I dont understand one thing, ?Why can't I do this? I mean I do all exactly what You do, But my kick dont fly higher then middle kick, When I am throwing the kick I feel like a old man. I think You know what I mean, Thanks for the Answer!

  • @Sapalas100 at my MMA they say that the kick is higher based on how high you get the knee of the leg that isnt kicking. Dont take my word for it though because its probably a load of bollocks!

  • excellent tutorial! you seem to be a pretty fast kicker- I consider your tornado kick really devastating, if it hits.

  • did you hear about the guy he kicked........ ye hes dead

  • how can i do this kick with right leg ? but the right leg in the back not in the front as u did

  • this needs more views lol

  • Comment removed

  • pshhhh

  • f*** i got it right but hit metal plate on accident

  • thanks for this tutorial i use to practise mma but stop and a few years later i wanted to do tricking so this move will help me get my 540 kick

  • thx for the tut its seems so easy when u do it but its not! at least now i know how to do it!

  • Thank you this really helped. I have been trying to do a tornado round kick for months (ever since I saw a black belt do it), but i would always do the tornado crescent instead. Can you make a video about how to spin quickly and jump with a spin, because I have trouble with spin kicks. The 45 degree tilt on the leg was something i didn't know. Well thanks!!!!!!!!!

  • mi neznma tornado kick mick ama moga ti sloja sobstveniq krak v gaza glopak

  • ako ti plqsna eedin shta iba i marmota gavno blq

  • I can do exactly this kick quite low and after alot of times actually high

but in the non modern version of this- where you dont do a roundhouse kick but an inside something high kick i can do it much more easy and very high

is it because i didnt mastered roundhouse kick? and is it enough good in the old school version?

  • Now i remember why i started to love taekwondo

I love you kwonkicker <3 hihih

    // Sweden :=)

  • wats with the sound effects ?

  • @pinoypwnage253 let's you get more power in a kick or any type of move if you let the air in your lungs out, try throwing a punch as hard as you can holding your breath, then compare letting your breath out or screaming.

  • I didnt go to TKD classes or other Martial arts class, But I can kick high, do the tornado kick, and other stuff. The reason is because I followed and did your Drills. Thanks :)

  • thx for tutorial

  • Damn you could wreck someone

  • what dan r u in taekwondo?

  • what if you land on somebody's shoulder or something

  • All of your tutorials are great. You explain everything and show in detail. I'm very impressed.

Now, you need to show actual use: how can someone use these moves to get out away from an attacker? How to break a strangle hold when the attacker is twice you size? etc

  • i can't wait until i'm in tip top conidion, i'm going to practice that

  • and from both legs holy fuck

  • YOUR SO GNARLY...im only 18 it looks like your shorter than me but the height of your kicks are so intense i thought i kicked high but holy shit. im five nineish and you kick way higher than me.your speed is fucking great also

  • doesnt that make u dizzy? haha

  • @xxfalls14xx Only if you do it 5 times in a row. makes it a bit harder to practise in sucession, it's not the kind of kick you want to use more than a few times in sparring or full contact anyway, as it works best when you're opponent least expects it.

  • Is my taekwondo school bad if it doesn't teach this?

  • @shadowlord9999 you mean they haven't taught it to you yet or they actually told you they don't teach it at all or what?

  • @mudkipzuzu

are you serious? What i mean is, what if they don't teach me this kick.

  • @shadowlord9999 well i thought you meant you already knew whether or not they taught it, but if they don't teach it then i guess they're not too authentic, or traditional, but as long as they are teaching the basics, its all right because flashy moves like a tornado kick isn't used in a fight very much lol

  • 'i'm not an ambi turner' lol im playin dude good video

  • Shogun rua did it on pride, was awesome

  • How tall are you?

  • Ich rette das Geld.

  • Doesnt that hurt the hell out of your foot :S when you kick the red practice things.

  • Explosive! I like that

  • Haha blonde moment at 2:09 instead of doing a small right-turn he does a full left turn.

  • @sunkah Haha yeah I cringe at that every time I see it and think "What the heck was I doing...". I believe you're the first person to comment on it.

  • @kwonkicker maybe kwon has the "zoolander's syndrome"

  • @sunkah like zoolander, hhaha. Good vid.

  • @sunkah No big deal. Watch and learn. Everyone slips. He is an excellent martial artist. I love watching these videos over and over to help myself with my own techniques. Thanks so much!

  • I was losing balance when I tried to do the Tornado kick. My leg wasn't turned 45 degrees, that's why I was losing balance.

    Thanks for posting this tutorial.

  • i have no experience in anyhting and i can do that kick for days if you wanna see it go too shadowcampos712 to watch me and my friends do them

  • Pretty cool

  • amazon.com/dp/B005O8J644

  • If you listen closely... you can hear the waves of the ocean when he kicks.

  • cool

  • isntt this the same as a butter fly kick

  • can anyone give some advice on how to increase your height on these kicks so you can target the head? does it have something to do with leaning back more.. or when you open up your hips your knees should be positioned higher? thank you!

  • Ive been doing tkd since I was 5 so Im used to the old version but I can almost pull off the new one with both my legs :D

  • Rock Lee!!!

  • I can pull this off (barely), but only without shoes on. Any tips if Im wearing shoes?

  • Amazing, i watched your video 3 weeks ago, and the entire time i was practicing the kick. And finally a couple days ago i was sparring with my gym teacher who is a second degree black belt. I caught him in the ribs good with this kick.

  • @mislam13 I did this in a demo once, it was nice. It's a good kick if you can do it right and set it up well.

  • Comment removed

  • i learn that move

  • Goodbye teeth! LOL. Great video, man.

  • Still perfecting my left leg.

  • hey man i really like your videos i thinking of signing up for tae kwon do n your vids have helped me alot on learning how to do kicks

btw i can do the entire kick just fine but i cant fully extend my kicking leg it stays tucked in plzz help me

  • the pshhh gets a tad annoying

  • this guy is really awesome

  • Comment removed

  • you have some great videos. very clear and easy to understand. thank you!

  • That's my best kick! :P

Though I must say,I did have some troubles while learning it...

    1-When I spin,I lose balance.

    2-Sometimes,I get out of course...

So my master told me to practice my spin first (No kick) and once I perfect the spin...I started practicing the whole thing...In the end..this came out to be my best move and most powerfull kick too!

  • @MattOwnz4000 it's mine too, but sometimes speed can over come power. I was sparring and some guy tried to use this kick on me so i did a double round house kick mixed in with a heel kick and he went down quickly.

  • aww man thank you an easier way to learn

  • now can do the full speed tornado kick, after half hour of training, now i understand it time to train the crap out of it

  • poor kicking pads..

  • That's a great kick, and the guy doing does it with superb form and speed.

There is a counter for that kick so it must be done when the opponent is not expecting it. As a guy who studied some kenpo, I have a yellow belt in kenpo, I do know that if one strikes downward on the instep of the person kicking, then the kicker will be in serious trouble. I also have a brown belt in shotokan.

For example, look up delayed sword in kenpo! The hammer fist block! It would work against most people. not me!

  • ...could you just call this a tatsumaki? :D :D

  • Great video man!

When you kick, is it with your foot or with your tibia?

  • @nicoXCIII its with your foot !

  • @MultiMrCookieMonster

    thx man ;)

  • can someone teach me how to turn so fast? I so slow. because maybe I'm abit fat. but I got friend he can turn faster than me. can someone tell me?I want to win in tournament :(

  • Check my channel, its got both Tornado kicks and Tornado kick combinations. Feedback would be appreciated. Thank you.

  • i used this in a street fight and dislocated some kids jaw :D

  • @TheGlock80 yea!!! nice dats my favourite kick!! i use spinning back kick and broke a kids rib into tornado ryt after dat and knocked him out

  • @TheGlock80 dude ya serious im practicing kicks and punches to get vengeance on those Rugby guys who mistreated me last day :)

  • I come from a background of karate and boxing. All these tutorials have helped out tremendously with my technique and power in my kicks. Thanks for the new upgraded weapons kwonkicker, u the man!! Keep doing you thing in Thailand

  • wow thanks for the help man i was tought to bring the knee straight up and this really helps man thank you so much.

  • Thanks man i havent been able to afford classes lately but ive still been practicing these kicks. Your instructions are really good now i understand the real technical parts.

  • it looks so fucking amazing! lol kwon, if someone would attack you on the street what would you do? This? I definately would, it would totally surprise

  • yeah thats a cool vid buy how do i make sure that i have the right distance?

  • I'm Argentine and I do not understand what you say XD but I really like your videos

  • @alantkdmt how the fuck do you type than ?

  • fast enough to use it in a street fight

  • i was a yellow belt when i first pulled that off and i knocked a guy out :)

  • @Adster09 Sparring or competition?

  • @Adster09 noiiiceee!

  • @Adster09 yeah well when i was a yellow belt i broke some ones are bitch lol

  • @Adster09 the first time u tried u knocked a guy out? -.- i practice taekwondo since im 5 (im 13) and i have never knocked someone at my first shoot

  • @giniman97 cos you suck :D

  • @Adster09 can u tell me the kid's name u knocked out? im regional and state champion -.-

  • @Adster09 sure.....

  • im in knepo karate and for us its called the jumping spinning roundhouse kick :D

  • Thank you kwon,, !!!

  • nice mate i always do the crescent instead of roundhouse and couldnt think why i wasnt geting enough power.. this has really helped thanks

  • 3:51-3:54 looked like me when I tried this in a fight to show off. but yea as you can see. it worked. :'.(

  • I can pull this off if I make the kick land like a crescent kick. It's not as powerful, but still pretty strong.

  • @teakwondo4FTW

    Thank you

I am a novice at all of this and trying to self train.

I've got the rotation down pretty much. I just need to get the jump and the kick.

  • Or would it be better to learn it both left and right?

  • Can you please do a tutorial focusing on the right side aspect only?

  • if i lean this before my competition then ill subscribe :)

  • Bshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....

  • I gotta thank you for this video, I've been doing this minus the jump and nailing dudes in sparring. They see the first spin and think back kick and move out of range for that but they are still in range for the roundhouse - deadly!

  • @maxmaster97 People like you who make comments like that probably know nothing about the video they just watched.

  • His kicks are very beautiful.

  • I can do this, it's a lot of fun. But it can get dizzy if you do a few in a row lol

  • @TaeKwonDoMan71 Don't forget to spot! Taking dance can help even in fighting.

  • great! before this tutorial i was always doing it with a crescent instead of a roundhouse. gotta practice it ;) thnks!

  • @keithtuber chuck norris does Not do karate, (okinawan/japanese martial arts) he does do tae kwon do, and according to his web site he is an 8th degree black belt. i also have read he holds a 3rd degree in tang soo do (another style of korean martial arts). tang soo do could possibly be confused with karate because it was influenced by japanese martial arts like shotokan karate.

  • @tipman444 True but from 21 years of experience of actually sparing in taekwondo and competing(traditional TKD NOT olympic style) By over exposing your back is inviting an axe kick, cressent kick. Now if you are talking about in MMA ring fight i personally wouldn't expose my back either because thats inviting a rear naked choke. But, valid point.

  • @program363 you DO leave yourself open, but i always figured that this move should only be used as like a finisher. what i mean is that it would only be useful after putting someone in a daze, or catching someone with it right as they recover from a previous blow. just an opinion and some imagination on my part. i got NOTHING on your 21 years haha

  • Nice but from my point of view you are over exposing your back when your doing the tornado kick.

  • @keithtuber the tornado kick is more or less the same thing in most asian martial arts.

  • Thanks so much again!! These videos are really helpful hahaha.

  • What a power!

  • this is bad ass

  • wow, you give inspiration. Thank you alot!

  • I love how in slow motion it sounds like an audience cheering

  • if you think that kwonkicker would be a great contestant for the ultament fighter and should sumbit next season reply to this comment saying kwonkick UF next ses

  • great is this...helps me a lot......

from 17 years old boy in india

  • why you say :- Pshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ? -.-

  • @AZ90109 its to strenghten the kick since it help flexing ur mucels ;)

  • @AZ90109 Its to make your attack more concentrated and powerful, also to conserve energy and prepare yourself for a counterattack.

  • @AZ90109 it is a form of breathing. A fast exhale. This is very important as it helps to tense up your muscles and to prevent internal injury. :) It generates power. like a kihap/shout.

  • Hey it was really helpful. Thanks!

  • best way to KO your enemy , with style :)

  • good1 kwon..... effectv..

  • @origamimee98 lmao so true

  • Hi! Your instruction is awsome! Thank you very much for your very good instruction! Keep posting! Now I am a big fan of your teaching! Thank you again!

  • 0:08

    Hmm, someone is talking

    SHHHHHHH

  • Hey Kwonkicker love your tut's. could you possilby do a 540 tutorial (where you land on the kicking leg)?

  • what other styles have you trained in

  • thxx man

  • He is very flexible and fast though...

  • I like the REAL taekwondo tornado kick: The one we do in traditional ITF.

WTF still looks cool though, but I prefer traditional. And also, I can't backflip...

But this is some kickboxing shit, that isn't a roundhouse, that is some crazy spinny thing.

  • I love your vids i am still working on the 360 back kick

  • dont u get dizzy? or i am doing it wrong i mean wat is wrong?

  • @duncandonutsert you might get a little dizzy. try to spin while turning your head to look at something and keep your vision steady. like your opponent. or just kick him so hard you knock his ass out and the little bit of dizzy wont matter

  • thnx this really helped

  • Pschhhhhh !

    Pschhhhhhhh !

  • boo shhh.. boo shhhh..

  • at the kickboxing clu that i go to, we have been taught to throw a low kick and then spin and throw the kick.

  • at the kickboxing club that i go to, we have been taught to throw a low kick and then spin and throw the kick.

  • Like that move!

  • @kwonkicker is it cool to practice on the B.O.B with sneakers? Or it all has to be done in bare feet?

  • nice video. I'm a shotokan karateka but I really appreciated this video. Always interesting to see how others do things!

  • @mmaninjitsu well thats ur opinion. every fighting style has weaknesses

  • @kimimarokekegenkai but some weaknesses are worse than others

I.E. Not being strong is a weakness, not knowing how to grapple but being in great condition is a worse weakness

Muay Thai lacks versatility not in striking surfaces, but the amount of use

Aside from the teep and roundhouse muay thai lacks kicks

I've been doing it all my life but I still have to make the point

  • @mmaninjitsu ive been taking muay thai for a few months and ive learned lots of kicks. our instructor tells us to throw lots of kicks so i guess its just the way u were taught. and the onlay grappling there is is the clinch but tahts y u learn brazilian jiu jitsu or wrestling if u want to learn how to grapple. but anyways i still like muay thai and im gonna work on any flaws it has to be a good fighter.

  • @mphilmacrac in my opinion taekwondo is better ive actually tried both and taekwondo just turned out to be my thing

  • I always throw a round house before a tornado kick, it just helps me gain more momentum
