I really wish they didn't replace this song on the DVD of Scrubs. I did not like the new song that much . It's not that bad but it didn't fit that moment in my opinion .

As far as the song's meaning goes, it certainly has nothing to do with love. I believe the song has everything to do with suicide. Notice how she is always referred to in the past tense. Imagine her explaining to the narrator why she felt the way she did. Her intentions and views would be wrong, but her logic would be right. The chorus, "shotgun fire, anybody home? I've got two dimes in the telephone" sounds like she made a call to him so he would know and then she pulled the trigger.

Hmmm I think the video's meaning is like this... she was free by herself. then she met him. though he was happy with her, & she seemed happy, she didn't feel free anymore.

(the movie theater part tells us she didn't get to do things she wanted to without a stuggle).

she took her stand that morning on the dock and snuck away he did't want to let her go so she met him halfway by giving him closer that's why she gave the keys to her apartment. (I am glad she did't kill herself at the end)
