nope. its both. people get excited about tries. nowadays teams are only scoring their points through drop kicks and penalties, as well as playing aerial ping pong.
It was so refreshing to see some brilliant running rugby in the Heineken Cup last weekend. Harlequins v Sale and Clermont Auverge v Leicester were absolutely brilliant games to watch. It's just a shame that a team like Saracens can get to the top of the Guiness Premiership whilst playing such a dull form of rugby.
@GaryTss politics. Part of the team must be black doesnt matter how good they are. Emagine alblacks or Australia had to do the same having quota players.
he is so inconsistent because he's always trying new things . if he recieves the ball 10m in his own half and drops for goal and misses , who cares , if he gets it then is a big boost for the team.He is a an amazing player. Dont forget the penalty he kicked for us in the world cup 57 m out on the sideline . i put all my life savings on the fact that at 20 now one on this posting could have made that kick infront of 85000 people in a rugby world cup final.
I think his still too young, even to play for the barbarians. He must still settle down, he tries too many new things and struggle to make up his mind somtimes.
Of course it did!!! Or else the ref wouldn't have awarded it...He has a habit of doing this and is actually alot more consistent with these than you all think...he has done it against the blues & reds in the super 14 as well as against australia...from huge distances but his general play is inconsistent
wow he made it with about 10 yards to spare amazing!

exactly the reason why rugby has gotten boring... 2 much kicking
SLASH570570 2 years ago
id say thats because of ping pong kicking, rather than 60 metre drop goals

It's not just Steyn to be fair, but both Steyn's (Franccois and Morne) practically catalyse the process by themselves.

@duhaa786M pretty stupid system you SA's have, why refuse to play a great player when they could increase the ability of their team, idiots

@GaryTss but the whole rule about not having foreign based players in their team is stupid, why not play your best players

lennard 2 years ago
Ah, don't remind me, it sent us tumbling out of the World Cup. It was a fantastic drop, though.
ElectricGnuOrchestra 2 years ago 2
@ElectricGnuOrchestra That was a fluke. The only drop he ever succeeded with in his entire career. Frans is a genuine threat.

I think the restart wasn't the best, right down his throat. I think the guy that took the kick really shot himself in the foot.

I think he's the most under rated player in the world because aswell as his huge boot he can run too and Butch James starts ahead of him
