  • I'm looking for how to overclock my ipod. Not how to install a useless app that doesn't do that.

  • The better way would be:

    Download iFile

Insert this code into the fstab file in front of the existing code:

    su

your password (it will be alpine if you haven't changed it)

    sysctl -w hw.cpufrequency_max=xxx000000

    sysctl -w hw.cpufrequency=xxx000000

    sysctl -w hw.cpufrequency_min=xxx000000

xxx stands for the processor speed (MHz) you want. Save and reboot.

  • @TheKevin635 i did that a few days back.. iphone got stuck on reboot

  • this 'ioverclock' clocks to what (...Mhz)?

  • After i installed ioverclock i cant start my phone!! Please help!

  • question.. sooo if the iphone 4s has a 1Gz processor, but its underclocked to 800mhz, will this bring it back up to 1gz?

  • @Ru55ianGrim yes but dont do it drains battery really quick on the 4s do it on other devices NOT the 4s

  • @Ru55ianGrim Yes it would allow the processor to run at GHz since IOS will limit the Power input from the A5 chip. This will drain battery life but the 4S is a new device so won't matter that much. Look at me now an Android user but still helping the Apple community.

  • @Ru55ianGrim yes, its supposed to. but i really doubt that a theme through winterboard can do that

  • just download the realoverlock from the fernas repo

  • Can I uninstall it easily if i don't like iOverclock?

  • @VRebuli as easy as the installation,

  • iOverclock does not work. just a waste of time and memory. if anything it slows it down. iFile works better

  • @blkmustang10 iFile? do you mean to edit some .plist from there?

  • iOVERCLOCK IS OVERRATED!!!

  • @Porkincarnate trust me it is worth it. It speeds up your device a lot

  • Thanks to great reviews like this, iOverclock has hit over 40,000 downloads! thank you!

  • Well, this drains your battery life big time. So its not really worth it.

  • 31 mb to 80+ mb!!!

  • It would be a blast to try this on the iPad 2's dual-core processor :P

  • just did this to my iPhone 4 and I can really notice a difference with application loading times. Everything runs so much smoother

  • is it risky ? what iphone do u have ?

  • @zawette no risk. Technically this is the default clock but Apple firmware undercloks it o yo should be fine. Ipod touc3g
