@vendetta007mike I disagree, it is not CCCP vs the rest of the world, it's cccp vs NATO. And it is to be expected that the Soviet union would be the agressor, it was in their military doctrine: Bring the war to the ennemy. And soviet aren'T necessary the bad guy, it's just that to suspition and hate between humains for them to struggle to survive, instead of juste surrendering like they did in real life

its not CCCP agains Nato, its Warsaw pact against NATO. Before this mission, you can see the europe map, and the red colour on countries of the Warsaw pact. Warsaw pact was countries: CCCP, Poland, Czechoslovakia, east Germany, and Hungary i tink.

It's actually loosely based off a book by Tom Clancy called Red Storm Rising which is actually an excellent book. While this isn't an official Tom Clancy game the influence is clear if you've read his book. Basically in the book a major oil catastrophe threatens to grind the entire Soviet Union to a halt, in a terrible decision against strong criticism form several members of the politburo they decide to attack the NATO powers. Such a scenario is not really that far fetched.

I would love to see a RTS game where in 2017 US becomes fascist and launch attack on russian union (Russia-Belarus-Kazakhstan). The russians try to defend themselves and only at the Moscow battle they stop the US invasion.

@nakanutria Heuresement que nous aurions quelque par accepter une Alliance avec l'Urss de Gorbatschev en 1989 (sous Francois Mitterrand) mais nous serions rester millitairement neutre vu notre amitié avec la RFA. Ce qui est sur c'est que Malashenko a un bon traduceur pour la verssion Francaise car c'est une exelente vidéo très entrainante !

USSR was totalitarian but not stupid. The americans general pushed to attack the Soviet Union some times during the cold war:

1948 Berlin blockade

1949 First soviet nuke

Did the russians plan to attack USA? I doubt, at the Cremlin many had terror of a war with USA, even if the red army was stronger in the second half of the cold war.
