Plastic is actually a great material to use as a subwoofer cone because it's not only inexpensive but it resists moisture far better than pressed paper and per thickness, is stronger than pressed paper as well. The only drawback with plastic is if it's too thin and it gets too hot, it will warp causing permanent cone deformity or irregularities in audio reproduction during movement. But personally, I think kevlar is the best material for the cone in terms of strength and cost.

I like it, however, I would use a different amp but I guess you are good with that if you plan on keeping your stock electrical. If you do get another amp, get hifonics, cadance, performance teknique or solid audio and look at rms ratings and not max ratings. great video
