I am American. ok moves, but right away I didn't get that sensual expression that only the mamacitas of Latin America can bring to the Salsa dance. It's a feeling & connection inside that is expressed between a partner. Once you've seen the rhythm dance of Puerto Rican, Colombian, Cuban, Brazilian, Peruvian, Argentinian, and the whole Amazonian beltway, you will understand.
I get what you are saying, but I don't think that the reason they don't bring the same flavor is because they aren't latino... I think someone of any ethnicity could develop that feel.

I dance Bachata with Americans and thought I was alright until a Cuban mami showed me the ropes and took me to another level. She was around 45 and man o man, I died and went to heaven. Then I watched others on the floor. This young Puerto Rican with the hips and butt just took Salsa to the 10th level. WOW!! WOW!!! WOW!!!
First off im hispanic and I understand where you are coming from. Yes the couple can dance but they don't have the expression that an hispanic would have. And there are Hispanic, Latin Americans, and Spanish and they are all different so don't try to put all thoe country under one category of Latin American. And there are plenty types of salsa not only the one you hear.
hola daustina, what hispanic heritage are you? I've been helping out my Puerto Rican instructor teach basic salsa on 1 the past couple of months. He has had members from all various Latin backgrounds. I've seen some start out who have 2 left feet. At the end of the 6 or 7 session class, some have improved greatly while one or 2 still have 2 left feet. I am now hosting & teaching intermediate level salsa. A black American teaching Anglo & Latino people advanced Salsa. Who would have imagined?

This is one of the better ballroom style salsa compared to "Dance with Stars" on tv, this is much better with more latin flavor and technical variety; looks like a beautiful place in Thailand where people there are in good shape, good food, nicer and fit. Honestly even in slow-mo I couldn't dance like that, good teaching & learning material though.
I mean there good for general population and their show moves were all cool but they didn't really look that talented. Just looks well rehearsed. I see people in the clubs dancing who look way better all the time.

I like this your dance i.e. the salsa!!;) salsa on shave off is an energetic dance it is necessary to stress it and you did it the woman is dancing as profesionalistka however the man is dancing a bit worse because there is no this work with bioblankets!! but this dance was beautiful:)

fue una fusion del jazz hip hop y son montuno cuando los cubanos llegaron a estados unidos, la verdad la verdadera esta en "bailar casino" de cubavision entren y veran lo que es bailar salsa, todo lo demas muy vistoso pero no lo puede bailar gente de 50 o 60 años
Eso es porque estas acostumbrado a ver/bailar lo que se llama 'street salsa' que es como se baila socialmente. En mi opinion, es mejor que bailar profesional porque puedes disfrutarla mas. =)

No se a que se refieren a "street Salsa" la stree salsa se baila tan diferent que hasta usan pasos de cumbia para bailar. Street salsa no se compara porque es diferente en cada pais. Sin embargo esta forma de Salsa se nota que es ON1 o L.A. Style
