  • Thank you regina! this is the last song in your 43 song playlist that I just listened to to get through my 8 hour last minute cram for biology.

  • I remember listening to this song in fifth grade on the way to space camp :D

  • what ever happened to buster?

  • I love how some of her hits have a million trillion billion views, but this is relatively unheard.

  • this song ties in with a book i finished reading a couple of hours ago called " the devils arithmetic" there are no words to describe this book. its about the Holocaust.

in the end they try to escape the camps. its the scariest book ive ever read. reality surpasses fiction): respekt:):):)

  • @alicepotter777 is it by Jane Yolen? I read a book by her called 'Briar Rose' (which is also about the Holocaust) and some of the scenes in it kind of remind me of this song. lol :P

  • @xxxxxxxxKatexxxxxxxx i dont remember the auther but its about this girl who doesnt understand the importance of the history of judaism. so she gets sent to like 1940 and she relives everything her great grandparents lived, and she knows everything that is going to happen. the body she ends up in dies in the end, but right before she goes into the gas chamber she comes back to the present.

  • @alicepotter777 That sounds really interesting, if you find out the title or something, please let me know!

  • @meikusje oh yeah! the book is The Devil's Arithmetic by Jane Yolen. my English teacher let me borrow it:) great book. teared up more than once...

  • hey smartguy, thanks for the song, but why this pic? its not off this album.

  • The pictures have clearer resolution in their mind. They'd synchronize their watches and their heartbeats in their ribcages! is the correct way to go

  • she plays snakes and ladders with her voice at 0:26 - 0:35 <3

  • give me soup and i will set it to my mouth.

    (my mum)

  • Give me a laundry list and I will set it to music. (Gioacchino Rossini)

  • lol...I was listening to this song while I made my drawing.....nice!

  • Did anyone notice that the sound at 1:50 is like a siren? just thought is was cool. :)

  • Her songs are works of art.

  • @xraindropgirlx she is awesome

  • 4 people don't like soup!

  • I'm guessing this has a deeper meaning than bank robbery.

  • She could sing the ingredients on a bag of crisps and make it sound beautiful =)

  • @BassicalyRock well she does sing the ingredients of pickles!

  • I always think of that Edward Hopper painting, Nighthawks, when I hear this song. I've always wondered if the painting was Regina's inspiration for this. Like, she saw it and then her creative mind just invented this awesome story about what might be happening in the painting; a story where all of the members are in cahoots planning some sort of heist that night... a heist that fails miserably, as we hear.

  • This is my 3 year old daughter's favorite Regina song.

  • The lyrics are a bit off.

"The pictures had clear resolution in their mind,"

"Who'd wear the mask and who'd ring the cops."

Everything else was good, sorry, I'm sure really OCD when it comes to lyrics.

  • Her words don't need a meaning. They're word art.

  • @Humaniterrarium you don't think art needs a meaning?

  • The soup the soup the soup the soup.. idk why but that made me laugh

  • this song is so odd. i laughed at it for 3 hours.

  • Oh regina, only you could make a song about murder cute and innocent.

  • i've always known that her lyrics have a deep meaning, certain songs just sound a bit random. but i love all her song are beautiful. :)

  • This sounds a bit like Love Affair but still love it (:

  • i love how her songs are so random......lol

  • well they r not actually random she has a deep meaning behind all of her songs look at the lyrics but we can never be sure what she means since we all take different things from her songs. i can see how you may think they r random but just for future reference try paying more attention to the lyrics and not just the beat.

  • i really prefer tomato soup, with a little basil. i think it's the best. let's discuss.

  • carrot and corriander. (y)

  • chilli chowderr. :)

  • crouton, crouton! crunchy friends in a liquid broth!

  • i am gazpachio oh!

  • @jemmismeers Tomato is nice, but I think carrot and apple soup (which tastes a lot better than it sounds) is the best. But then again, there's always the classic standby of matzo ball soup...

I love soup and songs pertaining to soup.

  • @jemmismeers LMAOOOOO! Yes...yes i agree....tomatoe is best for me!

  • @jemmismeers I love currysoup with spinach and cooked eggs. Best. Soup.Ever.

  • i love everything by this woman, everything so different; cant wait to see her (front row) december :D 3rd.

  • haha what the heck that is sooo random!! i love it!!!!XD

  • the background kind of sounds a bit like love affair, doesn't it?

  • strange foto.

    has this outfit a message?

  • she grew up in the 90's in russia - a real crap era.....the hat was old school GI....the booze speak 4 itself....! its really what hip cats wore at the time in moscow clubs / art scenes - where she started....

  • I think she moved to nyc when really really young, i doubt she was doing shows in clubs at that young age.

  • i think she wuz in her teens, maybe.. didnt do clubs til after that....song was a demo b4 she moved, i bet....eitherway - a demo u b4 u hit it big....this from back then...check "rejazz" by her ....!!

  • read the title thats on the picture......

  • Wasn't she only 9 or 10 years old when she emigrated to New York?

  • shen she does that shiver sort of effect at 3:06....i NEVER heard anything that weird.....kewl lyrics the guy gets kiled by the car in the end (? !) " running --- in a game of tag, until he was hit , until he was it "..... she's has it all.....who needs a drummer , eh ? ha ha

  • maybe hit by a bullet.

  • true, dat

  • cool...ur right....is the NS - national socalist - like i AM.....? ! lol...peace

  • I love how it almost sounds like the piano and the singing don't acutally go together.

  • i think the sunchronizing ribcages are like they were all getting really nervous or excited before they robbed the bank thing..just wanted to put that out there :)

  • It's just another way of saying that their hearts are beating in synch, at the same time. Like a perfect plan, accentuated by the total synchronization of the other in oneself.

  • Man such an epic cover. I love it so much, I wanna start wearing those shirts now.

  • its a great cover....! she is " ugly / hot " as my friend would say....she rox that shirt, too....werd out

  • what CD is this on? i want to buy it but its not on itunes.....

  • soviet kitsch

  • thanks!

  • How could you even ask that question with the cd cover on the screen the entire time the video is playing? I'll assume you didn't know that was the cover of an album lol

  • oh when i looked up the album on wikipedia its not shown as one of the tracks

  • i'm poop ast things like this but i thought she meant for them to all start brething at the same pace kind of?? would that make sense?

  • it probably means they got ready like covering their rib cages in any case we love her and many of her lyrics r symbolic. or just random :3

  • regina is my goddess.

  • I Love her already, and this is the second song i've listened to by her.

  • You're going to love them all. I have 2 albums and there are no bad songs.

  • I love this song..omg..its so cool and unique..i like how she draws out the notes..kinda creepy song though. Michael was the one who survived.

  • Who knows. You never know Buster could've just been hit , not killed. Since she doesn't give a description on how he got hit or "died". So its really unclear. But in her words, there's a great possibility that Buster died. I love how she makes her songs on daily life and other things we wouldn't imagine about a singer singing.

  • i think this is "the soup" that is sung in "alice in wonderland" by the turtle guy

  • I don't get it....

  • I love this song so much.

The thing she does with her voice around 3:00 gives me chills.

  • wishing this song would go on....

  • it would be interesting to try and make a musical out of all of Regina Spektor's songs like what Mamma Mia did with ABBA. I'd like to try just for kicks

  • YES!!!! I had that idea just the other day! <3333333333333333

  • yea the only problem would be that she isn't as well known as a group like ABBA I mean they're the kind of songs you sing with your mom in the car. You say Regina Spektor and you get is "umm...don't think I know her" it's sad ,because she's so great more people should listen to her, but good because with her it's all about the music and not the tabloid-celebrity-hollywood shit

  • thats would be amazing,

  • This song is so creepy...so eerie...and wonderful at the same time! :) I could listen to this song for hours! You're brilliant, Regina!

  • she never fail to impress me

  • the main theme of this song sounds exactly like "love affair." rhythmically, at least. but the change in harmony and the completely different attitude of this song make that irrelevent. :]

  • This is such a sad but great song...

  • LOL! I love it!

  • I love Regina Spektor, she's so cute! And the same time, she has to be somewhat insane with what each of her songs are about. She's amazing!

Soviet Kitsch is my favorite album!

  • the soup has joel mchale

  • poor buster!! ;D

  • i envy her beautiful red, curly locks :]

  • wow she places with her voice like no other

  • omg all of her songs have depth like even the simplest things can like have the most meanin but like im not saying that "soup" has a lot of meanin but all of her songs have great meanin. ^__^

  • i agree i love her :)

by the way the soup is referring to the saying to be in the soup=to be in a predicament,in trouble of some sort...

    [im a nerd]:D

    x

  • her voice makes shudder in vocal pleasure, silk upon my ears, its so overtly quirky and it works, cause she has a good balance. I adore everything about this gorgeous woman!

  • ahhh the soup... i wish regina would make me some soup. then sing about it. Because she's beautiful and magical and everything else thats magnificent. She should definately record this and put it on a cd sometime. Soon. It's been too long now Regina. We need more love!

  • can you give me these songs in msn?

    im from argentina

  • The music in this at the start - kinda reminds me of her song 'love affair'.

But don't shoot me down piano players, I'm clueless when it comes to instruments and the like.

  • Regina Spektor is so awesome!!! ^^ ^^ ^^ This is one of my favorite songs of hers. ^^ Thank you for posting it! =3 =3 =3

  • my fav song from her

  • GREAT!!
